It's a road game and they haven't won one in 2.5 years and they're coming off a game where Providence housed them.
Coming from someone who, 23 years ago, witnessed Colorado coming to Lincoln ending a 28 game road losing streak in Big 8 games, it's good to know that we are no longer slump-busters.

83-66 on the losing end. 7-11 in the conference. Hoping that I'm wrong.

If Wisconsin makes the NCAA Tournament this year, then Greg Gard is the greatest coach in the history of the game.

Maybe Heiman popping from 3 will be the answer.

Warren Nolan realtime rpi which ignores non d1 opponents and lists both 2013 and 2017.
Ummm.... UCF is currently ranked 21 and St. John's 27 in that... Ok....
Plus any ranking that has Vermont ranked 4th should be discounted anyway.

(2) Hopes of 2014 repeating is fool's gold, not a legitimate expectation.
To be fair, back in 2014 hopes for what actually happened appeared to be fool's gold as well. I'd say we have about a 1 in 5 chance of a couple guys getting hot down the stretch and getting some breaks with the schedule, and making the postseason.

Watson has 11 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Far from a "terrible night." Yes he was 5/17 from field, but still, far from terrible.
How does Watson have his career high for assists on a night we don't score 60? I'd say that's hard to do.

69-62 Nebraska.

Honestly, we need to tighten our rotation.
We only had seven guys that played more than four minutes, and only 43 minutes off the bench. A rotation doesn't get much tighter than that.

So UCF was too big for us to match up with and SJU was too small for us to match up with.

Meaning we could schedule a game between the conference tournament and the NCAA Tournament to stay fresh?
No, it means that the regularly scheduled game with St. John's doesn't count against the limit as far as the number of games you're allowed to play.

One Preview of the tourney has us going 1-2
If it played out like that and we lost the 6th place game to Oregon State...it would not be a sign of progress.

I think I remember something about it not counting if we meet in Orlando. It should count, IMO. We play teams in conference twice, both of those games count. Both of these should if we play St. John's a second time. It's also why NU, and presumably St. John's requested to not play each other in the Gavitt Games.
The results of the second game would count. What it doesn't count against is the total number of games Nebraska can schedule; playing a team in a regularly scheduled game that is also in the same exempt tournament you are in doesn't count against your limit, for some reason. So it allows Nebraska to play an extra game this year.

When I was in high school, our coach made our 4 run 10 ladders for every missed 3 when he wouldn't stop shooting them. I think Copeland should be subject to the same rule. He has a decent post & midrange game, but his 3 point shooting is terrible. None of his 4 last night were even close.
During Copeland's first 51 games in college, he was 45-125 from 3 (36.0%). In the 25 games since he is 10-72 (13.9%). In those last 25 games, in the 20 games where he did not hit a 3 pointer he went 0-49 and averaged 6.2 points per game, while shooting 49% on 2 pointers. In the 5 games he actually made one, he went 10-23 from 3, for 43.5%, and shot 61% from 2 with an average of 19.6 ppg. So in the past, if he's not hitting any threes, his offense overall is not nearly as productive.

Nebraska (6-2) vs Mich St. (6-1) Game Thread

Not that Nebraska had much of a shot at winning this anyway, but: the refs made it clear early that Nebraska shouldn't even think about winning.
