  1. Can somebody please assure me whether Pitchford/Petteway etc. can block out and/or rebound...cause I am getting discouraged about this!
  2. I am not going that far when we are clearly at a deficit when it come s to athleticism. But J agree we could be more into this if we did not have so many mental F@*K ups.
  3. And we have never lost when shooting over 40% this year....yet And we have probably never won when getting outrebounded by whatever it is!
  4. Unless they've changed the rules, a flop can be called a technical for simulation. I hope you are correct...but if it is, can you site one example of this ever being called, as I have never seen this call. But I have seen a lot of obvious flops!
  5. Since I was amazed that nobody mentioned Eric P or Erick S, I went to the Media guide and found the "by class" leaders that may help your memory of who is out there to compare. I would take Dave Hoppen ...but we all know we need a big and that is an unfair comparison to a guard/sf. Therefore, Eric, Erick, Tyronn and Cookie are my picks for comparison...but there are other good options below. The fact that you are comparing to any of these players is compliment enough...until SS does it consistently...and high praise. 6. If the rules would make a flop a technical foul...it would help stop a lot of the acting...and reviews.
  7. Tony, count me among those that enjoy your occasional visits here...however believing that it's the "football fans that think that there should not be any other sports but football" is pretty tough to defend, since I would wager most participants here go to Husker football and care enough to be here. Are you sure it isn't jay fans that think there is no need for a school to have a football team?
  8. Seeing that Wisky just went into IU and won by the same # as against us....and how we played the top 20, the players will certainly be disappointed if they don't. And that is what matters. We could help. BE LOUD!
  9. If they dont redshrit. They won't. Well, at least not all of them. Can't see any way Webster does. Possible one of Fuller and Hawkins does, but I wouldn't be shocked if both see time. No redshirts for a player if they are in the top 10 of players, unless there are injuries that keeps them out for a lengthy time. The new recruits will be available through year 5. By then Miles plans to have built the foundation and he can continue to recruit players of a high caliber for a team that ought to be able to hold their own in recruiting...if your plan and coaching is working. It is very important to take several significant steps forward next year. Use the tools you have to insure it happens. Spending their year in '13-'14 will insure better recruiting in the future. Even high school players can give Miles a pass this year. A tremendous leap next year propels interest much more than winning a few more games while getting better. We can/will have that opportunity, but coach has to make it happen. A large leap makes the likelihood of future leaps (recruiting successes) much more likely. In a business model analogy, you have to spend your marketing resources in order to sell your products in the future. The redshirts, recruiting class and the several leftovers are those resources. Use them. Get better. The time to sell is now. GATA
  10. It has certainly been a while, yet I recall if you ask every pretty woman for a date...you only need one yes to be EXTREMELY successful. TM's job may be 5 times as hard...but God bless him for the ability to try... By the way...my vague memory recalls...it can actually work! GATA
  11. Considering my pre-game expectations...I am absolutely giddy. However, I am somewhat perplexed as to why we let MU play out a 30 second possession starting about the 1:30 mark of the second half without fouling (they then scored). Under one minute... we foul several times to make the score appear worse than we played. If we waive the white flag at 1:30, why do we punish ourselves at the under one mark? Even with the small problems, on the whole...well played Huskers!
