  1. 1. This team isn't built for transition offense. No depth and not enough shooters. You are not going to see NU push the ball much when Peltz is the PG and Andre is in the game. 2. Andre barely played the second half (injured?). That is why NU stopped going inside. 3. kick-out 3s? I don't think the answer is to shoot more threes. You can't really judge Miles's philosophy at this point. He is doing the best he can with what he has. NU is not shooting well right now, they have some guys banged up, and there has not been enough depth all season. We've got a walk on point guard playing 20 minutes a game. Hopefully Parker, Andre, and Rivers minutes all increase as they get healthy. The team is 7-3 with a decent chance of getting to 10-3. Miles is doing more good things than bad at this point. Oregon and Creighton are going to beat this team 9 times out of 10 regardless of offensive flow and strategy.
  2. I think our record is 7-3 and the only non-con left is central michigan and Nicholls st. Where is everyone getting 10 wins or are we counting Midland? I don't think Midland counts. NVM. I didn't realize Central Mich was part of a 4 team tourney.
  3. This game was about as weird as it gets. Only 2 weeks until NU is at Ohio State.
  4. I will blame this one on Miles if they lose. We don't need Peltz in the game at the end, and especially not shooting free throws.
  5. lol. are Ubel and Peltz really our crunch time guys?
  6. When is Peltz going to get his first dunk of the year?
  7. imagine if Sergei made the shot to put Nebraska at 70.
  8. wasn't there a florida team last year that we barely beat?
  9. I hope Miles is not making these comments next year when the majority of Doc's players are gone.
  10. Groce inherited a 10x better situation, but Miles has a lot less pressure than Groce. Groce could have 2 losing seasons and be fired. Miles will basically be here for at least 4 years regardless of our record.
  11. Yea. I don't think we offered him. Atewe must be our main target right now. You would think that after today's game we would want to take 2 big men in this class.
  12. remember that time when he was big 10 player of the week like 2 weeks ago...
  13. He gets dominated when he plays against decent centers like eschinique and woods. Andre just isn't in good enough shape to be good consistently.
  14. Totally disagree with you on this. We need a 6' 6" body that can help score and rebound more than we need a 5' 9" guard to bring the ball up the floor. Ray could take over this role if needed with help from other guards. We need more scoring threats at this point. Peltz and Menke will get their pocket picked every time against B1G competition, and ray is going to be completely ineffective if he has to play point guard. Ray's whole game relies on coming off of screens and shooting. Point guard is arguably the most important position on a basketball team... just ask the lakers.
  15. That's some major speculating I was basing my speculation on the only other basketball player I know of to of had an elbow infection... not to mention this isn't the first complication shields has had with the infection. It clearly is not healing right, and I think he will be out a while based on what I am hearing. I hope I am wrong though.
  16. Couldn't disagree more. Miles has never built a program by immediately having success. He didn't win a SINGLE regular season conference game his first year at CSU. In fact, you could even argue that the worse he does this year makes it easier to appear like he's trending forward in the future. If we have to start 5 walkons due to injury, the answer is to start scouting intramural games, not burning Deverell Biggs' redshirt. This team doesn't have 5 walkons starting... It has 3 seniors and a junior who have all looked really good at times this year. I don't actually think there is a chance Biggs would decide to play this year, but I would not be against it if he wanted to.
  17. My guess is that shields is done for the year, but parker will be back by conference play. Any time there is a complication with an infection, you have to take that serious. NU needs Parker more than shields. David Lee from the GS Warriors had an elbow infection a couple years ago, and it almost ended his career.
  18. yes lets burn biggs' redshirt so we can finish with 14 wins instead of 10 This team is still 6-2 and beat Valpo, Wake, and USC with 6 scholarship guys, so it isn't crazy to think that a juco all american would help give this team a shot at getting the B1G's last spot into the tournament. Ubel, Gallegos, and Talley are all greatly improved, but obviously nobody expected that at the beginning of the season. The injuries to Parker and Shields would not have been that big of a deal if Biggs was playing. Miles brought biggs in for 2 reasons in my opinion: 1. He could play and start right away. 2. He might be able to bring the best HS nebraska player in the last 10 years with him. Neither of those happened. He could still be a good player in 13 and 14, but I would rather have seen him on the floor now.
  19. too bad there isn't an eligible juco all american point guard on the bench...
  20. Miles said in the preseason that Parker was out of control at times. Maybe he wants Parker to continue to gain game experience before he truly unleashes him. I've actually been impressed with Parker's ball control and passing. I think Miles is limiting Parker's shots right now and telling him to focus more on taking care of the ball and creating shots for others. Parker's outside shot has not looked great at times though.
