  1. I think NU will rise from the ashes.
  2. I think Akoy knew he could go play for a final 4 team with a legendary coach in a basketball state.
  3. Miles signed a 4 star in his first year and had the #1 overall recruit on our campus. I have more faith in him than I did with Doc. Not to mention he has already won as many games as Doc did last year.
  4. Can someone please look into the NU Adidas contract? I thought it ended starting in 2013.
  5. I'm just glad Miles has the stones to go after guys like this. I think Miles really believes in the program which will get recruits to believe in it.
  6. I think we are bringing in Hawkins to shoot 3s. His shooting form is very smooth. Nothing else about his game stands out too much. His ball handling skills are good, but probably not good enough to be an effective point guard. He is also an average athlete, so he will fit in best as a shooting guard. A slightly more polished version of Dylan Talley is probably the best case scenario for Hawkins.
  7. I would of been shocked to hear a 16 year old from Florida say he was familiar with Nebrasketball. I'm actually shocked he knew the Football team was good.
  8. I heard the first game at the PBA was going to be "$9 beer night"
  9. I hope Atewe has good footwork. It seems like Ubel and Andre each travel once a game because of poor footwork.
  10. Any word on if thomas will be here for saturday's game?
  11. committed to Brown. Pretty good get for them.
  12. Does central beat Nebraska? Oak hill had 4 top 150 players.
  13. After watching this video, I'd say Atewe is a better prospect.
  14. 1 in 172. I've seen worse odds.
  15. Sergej should look into this if he's hanging around. http://news.stanford.edu/news/2012/august/cooling-glove-research-082912.html also, I'd keep a close eye on stanford athletes.
  16. I dont see Fuller at the 2 though in any scenario. Would it be great, of course, but he would get beat constantly by the quicker guards in this league. he needs to stick to the 3 and 4 where he matches up better at both ends for NU. yea. It's not going to be a starting lineup, but it might be a lineup to use against a team like Minnesota that have a bunch of slashers. Gallegos should be the 2 next year. Not sure what 2015 will look like. Hawkins will be the only other true sg after gallegos leaves. If NU gets Atewe and Thomas, the lack of experience should be the only thing NU has to overcome to have a really good team.
  17. Webster, Fuller, Shields, Thomas, and PItchford would be a lineup that not too many teams could match-up with and probably solve a lot of rebounding issues.
  18. great news. Mich st game should be a great environment. We need Thomas more than Atewe in my opinion.
  19. Clearly Andre is bullying him and taking his food.
  20. wait... so why did sergej lose 20 lbs? -First his redshirt gets burned -then he gets no playing time - now I find out he has lost 20 lbs when I thought he was trying to gain weight, yet Andre has not lost a pound his whole career. confusing stuff.
  21. Ok then. let's just get atewe and thomas and start playing some bball.
  22. There's no way to predict what's going to happen. Too many variables: -What are Parker, Rivers, and Vucetic plan at the end of the season? -Will Miles try to force any of them out? -Will Atewe commit? -Are we going to offer Atewe and Thomas or wait to see what atewe's decision is before offering thomas? -Does Miles think he can find a transfer at the end of the season? The only hope I have is that we bring in a big man who can play close to starters minutes next year if needed. NU is one starting big man away from having a very talented team the next couple years. I hate to dwell on it, but Agau would of been a perfect add to this recruiting class.
  23. vitto, foster, agau, hanson, soma edo, tory miller sort of. Those are 6 big men off the top of my head we missed out on. I know there's more.
  24. The problem with waiting to try and get more talented big men next year is that Miles struck out on nearly 10 big men this year, so why would that not happen next year? There is going to have to be some success on the court before recruiting can really pick up. The good thing is that we have enough wings and guards to last us the next couple years, so Miles can focus on getting talented big men. I would also be pretty concerned if atewe, vucetic, and pitchford were my 3 big men for next year. I think you have to get a juco/transfer that has some experience.
  25. he probably narrowed it down to 5, but then clemson offered. He probably doesn't know enough about clemson to leave them off, so he added them to the 5.
