Too bad neither us or the Auburn fans are making the decision And "best fans... when we are winning" isn't that good of a compliment regarding our fan base... I probably should of went into detail on that. For basketball, our fanbase has actually been great considering our lack of recent success. When we are winning though, our fans really go all out. Just look at volleyball. Baseball was selling out for a long time when we were good too. Football is always going to be the top sport, but NU fans are pretty good all around and arguably the best when we have a winning team. So i don't really look at it as a negative. One basketball example with our fans was a couple years ago when doc was very close to getting 20 wins, I think our fans sold out the last 5 or 6 games. We choked in those games, but our fans did everything they could.

Auburn fans have basically said they would choose Nebraska over themselves. They know Nebraska is putting a lot of effort into the bball program and has a lot to offer. -we have 2 guys over 6'7. one might transfer any day now. Immediate playing time. -nicest facilities -new arena -best conference -best fans... when we are winning -better education.

Hopefully cam newton's dad stays out of this.

I actually really enjoyed reading how their fans were all caught up in how bitchin' our facilties are. I had actually never seen that Vimeo video of the tour of the Hendricks Center that one of their fans found and posted on their board. And it struck me how fans down in Auburn are jealous out of their minds about how fandamntastic our basketball facilities are and how they don't think they can compete with us in the facilities arms race. Fans. In Auburn. Shock and Awe over OUR cool sh!t. That just amazes me. They don't think they can win the recruiting battle with us -- with frickin US! -- over Atewe because their locker room is the size of a large closet. And they apparently forgot to finish their arena somehow. We obliterate Auburn basketball when it comes to facilities bling. I was honestly surprised by their reaction. I had no idea other team's facilities are that far behind. I'd always been lead to believe that everyone else had it so much better. Until we upgraded. No wonder Coach Miles has made the comments he's made about recruiting with our facilities. Because they blow the competition away. I liked how they likened our new adidas contract as a commitment to basketball. I'm sure that will stir some of you Nike boys up... I don't think anyone has a huge problem with Adidas. The problem is that Nike is the more popular brand to high school kids with more selection for basketball players. Adidas is like a bmw, but Nike is a Lamborghini. Atewe himself recently posted a picture of a new pair of Jordans he bought.

Not that great of a movie, but it fits.

He won't start next year. He will likely only be used in situations where the opposing team has a dominant big man or a big front line. He'll average 15 minutes a game at most in my opinion. Miles has shown he is not going to play a big man if he is not ready. (vooch)

I think it's fair to say we have at least an 80% chance of getting Atewe. I would be very surprised if he went somewhere else.

Still 4 days left for Duke to come in and steal Atewe.

Doug should only leave if he is guaranteed a 1st round pick. There is a big difference between a 1st and 2nd round contract. I think he is a good enough shooter where a team would gamble on him late in the 1st. Adam Morrison was drafted 3rd overall. My gut tells me he will stay for his senior year though.

Sounds like we are just going after Sai and Atewe as of now.

This kid was one of our top choices besides Agau. His recruitment should open back up now. Should be interesting to see if we pursue.

Is anyone else worried about Tai getting the necessary SAT/ACT score? I would think his time is running out in how many times he can take the test.

Alex Foster never showed a lot of interest in us, but we were in contact with him at one time. It would be huge if we could get him.

You can't completely get rid of charges or you would have guys plowing over people to get to the basket. What needs to be changed is when someone takes a charge while the offensive guy is the in the air. You can't just slip in front of a guy a split second before he is about to go up for a layup. It is impossible for the offensive guy to avoid contact when he is in the air.

to be honest, I would of taken Thomas. Thomas is taller and a better rebounder. I'm convinced we backed off of thomas because of grades, but Thomas recently got qualified about 2 weeks ago... so that would no longer have been an issue. I'm fine with Tummala though, but I hope Thomas does not end up at Minnesota. one inch isnt going to make that big of a difference. In fact I'd say Tummala has a better body frame to bang down low than Thomas does. There's no video of Thomas since high school 2 years ago, so I really don't know how big he is now or what his game is like now. His high school videos were pretty impressive though.

I have noticed from watching some of the bigger games in the NJCAA, that refs tend to blow their whistles a little less... now that may not of been the case last night, but sometimes they seem to suck on those babies like tootsie pops I don't think it was the case. He settled for 8 3s when he probably should have been able to get to the basket more. I'll take 20 points on 8-16 shooting every night from a player even if they only get to the line once. Thats still efficient shooting. Wasn't saying he played bad, but pointing out that he took a lot of 3s and only got to the line one time.

Cal can do whatever he wants. If the NCAA brings the hammer, he knows there will be another big time job waiting for him. He is one of the few coaches that can build a final 4 team in 1 year. Some NCAA teams are ok with a couple years of sanctions if it can bring a national title.
