  1. I'd use the scholly. It would put us at a full roster with 13 scholly players with 1 spot open for 2014. With 13 scholarship players, it is likely a couple players will transfer after this upcoming season. So it will even out and we will end up with 3 schollys for 2014.
  2. Akoy seems like he could play Diengs role, But Akoy is a bit shorter.
  3. Norm, everyone likes what they see in Sai from his videos, but we are talking about a guy that had no offers in high school. His offers are not going to blow up from having one good JUCO season. There is still a chance his game does not transfer to D1. If Sai does not work out, you are stuck with him for 3 years. It is highly unlikely he will transfer again since he does not have a redshirt to burn.
  4. Wasn't biggs a juco all american? His offers didn't really blow up. Us and Okie st. Biggs was named a juco All American after his freshman year? I did not know that. Hmmm. You sure about that? Biggs got to practice with Michigan for a whole year then play Juco? I did not know that. I know it was after biggs soph season, but they were the same grade/age when they became JUCO AMs Not trying to argue, but I don't see Sai's offers blowing up. Especially this late in the game. I believe that Sai Tummala is a better get than Leslee smith though. You are getting your players mixed up...it was Sai Tummala that was a walk on for Michjgan...then went to CC I was answering norm's sarcasm with my own sarcasm. This is getting really confusing now.

  6. I thought Sai said he wanted to make his decision by april 17th or somewhere around mid april. maybe that's changed, but i think he originally said that back in march.

  8. I don't believe Tai ever said he'd be here in June, but I believe that Hawkins and Fuller will be arriving on June 7 for the first summer session. If Webster doesn't show for a reason other than bombing the SAT, which I doubt will happen, then he's a king-sized douchebag who lied to his teammates, lied to the staff and lied to the fans. I'd like to think he and his family are better than that. I'd prefer to see Tai in Lincoln in June, because, as you said, once he's here, he's here. I'd also rather see him running in pick-up games with his teammates than playing pro ball back in Kiwi land. However, he will get some good playing experience, so it's not all bad. Keeping my fingers crossed that the curse left with Doc. Think about leaving the United States for the next 4 years. Wouldn't you want to stay in your home country for as long as possible until it's time to leave.
  9. I think we'd have a better chance if chin was here.
  10. He could just as easily get hurt during summer workouts at UNL, so I'm ok with him playing basketball. The article mentions he is still only 17 years old. I think that is a good sign he is still going to develop and get better.
  11. his size and skills are very similar to nathan hawkins. It wouldn't have made much sense to get ellis.
  12. washut tweeted that we are officially looking into Davis along with a couple other transfers.
  13. Even if his mind was made up to go to NC State a week ago, I think the transfer of 5* guard rodney purvis would have him second guessing. I highly doubt Josh does not look at some other schools.
  14. seems like a crazy fan to me. I get that josh is from NC, but why would he go back to the place where he was not given a chance to play? I would think he would want to take a couple visits before deciding on a school. The coaching staff at NC State is completely different now than when he played there. NC State makes the most sense, IMO NC state has 2 nba caliber power forwards in cj leslie and tj warren. I'm not sure that's where I'd want to go if i want minutes.

  16. I don't think so. I think the JUCO route is good, because it allow for the scholarship to open up in 2 years instead of 4. Smith will be able to make an immediate impact on the floor, while the full potential of someone like Alex Foster won't begin to be realized until he has a season or two under his belt. I think it is important for Nebraska to snag another JUCO or grad transfer in this class to help with immediate contribution, but I think it is also important to try to snag at least 1 high school post player that can develop and contribute in the long term as well. We only have 1 spot left though. There are no signs of Vooch or Parker leaving. I think it would have happened by now.
  17. Ellis seems like a very similar player to Nathan Hawkins. I doubt we go after him.
  18. I wonder if we jumped the gun on leslee. It seems like there is a new transfer every day.
  19. Well we have 7 new guys coming in as of now. 8 counting Josh or Sai. We are going to be much more competitive than last year. Agreed 100%. But can Miles convince a potential transfer of that? I am personally convinced that if we got Josh, there's a great chance we could make the tournament. I am not sure what Josh is trying to achieve in transferring, but I doubt there is a BCS team that could offer more playing time than Nebraska. And you can also throw in the arena, facilities, and the chance to make history. I have to think adding Josh would sell a lot of season tickets for this coming year.

  21. dude... take a look around
  22. The one thing that gives me hope is that Miles has had great success at getting transfers. I also doubt that Davis is the only grad transfer. I think we'll here about a few more in the next couple weeks.
  23. +1. I'm probably not going to get any homework done tonight, because I will be stalking this site, twitter, etc... I'm way too jacked to think about anything else In terms of our success this coming year, Davis would be an even bigger get than Agau. 17 and 10 is rare at any D1 school.
  24. I'm guessing Gallegos is just as good as young, so they would basically just be taking each other minutes in their senior years. Fahro was a troublemaker. Keith Coleman might have been a better option than Leslee smith though. keith is 6'10 245. Probably better suited than Smith for the B1G.
  25. I see a ton NC State fans are hoping Josh Davis comes back to play for them. Why would he go back to the school where things did not work out the first time around? Getting this kid would be very tough, but I think we would have a decent shot if Miles wants him. He is obviously going to want to go to a big time conference to prove he can be a great player against great competition. At Nebraska, he could basically set his own minutes and be our go to guy. There's also the new arena and facilities. If wants a chance to be a legend by getting us to the tournament, he would come here. If he just wants to blend in at a school like Kansas and guarantee a tournament birth, that's where he'll go. At a school like Kansas though, there's no guarantee of starters minutes.
