  1. The mentality is getting to the rim though. Glad to see that at least.
  2. Pitch has some serious offensive upside. He's just gotta start knowing it.
  3. Gotta push the ball and attack the rim on these guys. They're pretty big but not athletic. They're switching on picks every single time. Gotta be a mismatch opportunity.
  4. Need a stop here. Terrible offense first half and only down 6
  5. We've got a shot here. We match up well, and we handed them the last one. I think we'll compete.
  6. I would call Walter our most improved player so far this year. Really happy with how much meaner he's gotten. I can't wait for him to take more bigs off the dribble. The guy has that in his skill set. Once he's confident, he's going to be a legitimate all around threat. Hopefully he'll develop a post game to go with it in the coming years. HUGE upside.
  7. I'll take him over Biggs just based on brains, honestly. He played smart, within the offense, and I think it's obvious he's going to develop into a three point threat. I was impressed with his presence in the zone, as well. Good length, stayed home and disciplined. Give me a 2-3 guard with size, defense, and three point range over a scorer who turns it over half the time any day.
  8. I don't think any win we have this year in the B1G should be considered an upset. Yes, road wins are harder, but we should be competitive in almost all of those games. I see a whole bunch of dead even teams after those three (no, I don't consider Wisconsin an elite team). I can't believe I'm saying this: We have middle of the pack B1G caliber talent. Now we just have to accept it and break through our mental glass ceiling. Pretty incredible recruiting job by Miles. Consider the asswhooping we gave OSU when they rolled out three seniors and two juniors in their starting lineup to our freshman and three sophomores. I was a little cynical (as I deserve to be, being an NU fan) at the beginning of the year, but we're going places. Obviously, there's an outside shot at anything this season, but we're tough at home--very tough, so I'm simply enjoying watching our young guys take it to upperclassmen around the conference. We can say "wait til next year" as we have always done, but I think there's some real substance behind it now. It might be the last time we say it for awhile.
  9. He's mean. We need mean guys. I'd love to see this kid play here. We have room for his style.
  10. Rivers needs to play a lot more, and these wins prove it. Despite the heart he has (which is a legitimate thing to bring to the table), he has B1G athleticism and is an excellent defender. Our toughness improves quite a bit when he is in the game. I think he and Pitch should split minutes at the 4. They bring entirely different things to the court. Speaking of Pitch, I was glad to see him shotfake and draw a foul. Dude is athletic. His ability to shoot the three should make him a legitimate threat to take it to the rim and draw some fouls (even if they're on the floor) on some opposing bigs. Petteway is turning into one of my all time favorites. I'm not sure I ever remember a sophomore so fearless. The guy is a warrior out there.
  11. 70-65 bad guys. I don't think we're ready to close out on a good team yet, but we're close.
