This is the only approach to maintaining sanity. I do my best to do the same (with varying degrees of success).

That was a complete kick to the balls.  The illegal screen on Keisei was a bad call but man, hard to put this on the refs when we played so terribly and they fouled out Minny's beat player on a bad call with 6 minutes left in the game

I don't even have the energy to vote in this poll. The entire thing is just "meh" at this point.

I don't have the energy to go through another coaching change. As a fan, that sounds dumb, but it's true.

I did my best to go into the season without an expectation. I simply wanted to see competent basketball most of the time. While there has been improvement in some areas, one of the core tenets of competency is shooting the ball. I will continue to watch, add what I hope to be relevant commentary to this board…but I don’t see a lot of wins left for this team. I will take the same approach whatever happens next - no expectation and hoping to see an improved product at some point in the future.

On the men’s side, I would submit the Michigan/Michigan State rugby match on wood. Under 100 total points was very much in play with 8 minutes to go in the 2nd half. What an awful display of basketball.

Had a chance to listen to the game rather than watch, so I don't have a lot to say about the officiating. But...make the free throws and wide open looks, the officiating becomes a whole lot less important.

On another note, it had been quite a while since I listened to a game. It was the most "homer" broadcast I think I've ever heard - and I loved every second of it! KP is an absolute treasure! 😂

OK, guys, y'all need to re-up your prescription for Lithium. Get rid of the high highs and the low lows.

I mean, this was just one game. Let me repeat that: Just. One. Game.

It's gonna be a slog of a season and every conference opponent is really good. Every single one. And we don't have any more talent on this roster than we did when we lost to Memphis.

So, I mean, slow your roll just a little ...

9-4 over the last 13? No. I did not realize that. That's pretty impressive actually.

Anyway, I don't want you guys to get too carried ...

Three straight wins against ranked teams? Is that some kind of record? It is? Whoa. That's pretty wild.

Still, I would just caution ...

Fred has two of our five all-time wins against ranked teams on the road? What the actual fuck? Are you serious?

Holy shit! I had no idea.

Um, I mean, try to temper your expectations because ...

Jesus Christ Northwestern beat Michigan State on the road last night?!

    Um

    Thanks

    NORTHWESTERN HOOPS RALLIES PAST NEBRASKA

.... In one of the oddest decisions of the basketball season, with Nebraska up 11 midway through the second half, Coach Fred Hoiberg ordered his team to only shoot half-court hook shots for the remainder of the game. Northwestern outscored Nebraska 14-0 from there to win.

"I thought it was a smart call," Northwestern Coach Chris Collins said. "We weren't ready for it. I mean our guys were doubled over laughing after a couple of their airballs, and that really affected our offense the rest of the way. Fred is a great coach, always thinking outside the box, and I hope he never leaves Nebraska."

"I really thought we could deliver the knock-out blow with a couple of Globetrotters-like shots and take the fight out of Northwestern," Hoiberg said. "We'd had our best week of practice on those shots, so we decided before the game to go for it. If I had to do it over again, though, I probably would rethink that decision."

demone got a reaction from royalfan in 2022 PG Cale Jacobsen -> Nebraska
Lived in Ashland for over 4 years - just moved 6 months ago. Had a chance to watch Cale as a sophomore and followed him as best I could the past couple of years. Really good kid and has developed more physically than I thought he would. He's a very good basketball player but unfortunately, competition level has to be a consideration.

My concerns would be quickness, not only defensively but also in getting his shot off. Last time I saw him, the release on his outside shot was rather slow. I get it, we all want Nebraska kids on the roster and as a role player/culture guy off the bench, I'm all for it. Just my opinion, he is not an impact player at the high major level. I would think he would be a great fit at Wayne State or similar school.

To me year 4 is about figuring out if Hoiberg is going to be the guy in year 5 and it's probably about him putting together the right coaching staff.

Another way to frame this:  I'd rather see a program with the talent to win 10 games win 16 games than a team with the talent to win 18 games to win 10 games because we can't build on the latter.
