Well you certainly don't have too much pride to come back here spreading more totally uneducated guesses as insider info, that's for sure. Until anyone ever puts the name or title of a source out there, nothing is to be believed. I can't believe you came on here a week ago telling us all we were in the tournament, were way wrong, and now you're back telling us Altman is possibly in the works. Anyone can predict we will lose 3 players. We do most offseasons. We have a handful on the rumor mill right now.

Tim Miles to New Mexico. Nebraska's in the tournament. Dana Altman may be something cooking. Got it.

You gotta extend him n you gotta make it so he has a 4 or 5 year deal weather it’s a whole new contract or just an extension.

hopes for next year should be high, I have my sights set on the school record for wins in the regular season alone but I don’t get all the talk that we are in trouble after cope palmer n glen leave. The cupboards will be far from bear and with 4 or 5 open scholarships next year my sights are set on a top 25 recruiting class similar to the class of 2015 rankings wise.

when your a program like Nebraska it’s all about stability, n if we reup with miles I believe in 5 years we will be beyond pleased with the state of the program.

    No reason to extend....

in in my opinion, the length of contract has no bearing on recruiting....because kids see guys fired after two years with 5 years left.

unless you think mikes will be hired away and you want to prevent that.....no reason to extend.

Been stated by several people who would know that it has already had an impact.   Recruiting is about relationships whether people want to admit it or not.   And when the optics paint a very clear picture of a pending coaching change in a year....no too many top flight prospects are going to be signing up for that mess.   Thats a huge negative recruiting tool to be used against us.   And we already have enough of those going against us without us stoking the fire.

The standard created this year was supposed to help non-P5/Big East schools who struggled to get quality non-con games.  In the end, the mid-majors/small schools got screwed.  Had Nevada and Rhode Island won out, only the AAC would have received at large bids.  St. Mary's was penalized under this new system because they did not schedule enough strong opponents.  The committee just made it harder for mid-majors (with the exception of the AAC and Gonzaga) to schedule quality games.

Nebraska also got screwed for scheduling too many mid-major/small school games. The Advocare Invite probably did more damage than people think.  Losing to CFU and then beating Marist and LBSU was not helpful at all.  Comparatively, Purdue played in the "Bad Boy Battle 4 Atlantis" with games against Tennessee (loss), WKU (loss), and Arizona (win).  Purdue had 3 quad 1 opportunities.  Right now that 2018 Hall of Fame Classic Nebraska has scheduled with a potential match up against Missouri St does not look appealing.

I understand what happened in the Gavitt Games and Big Ten/ACC challenge.  Nebraska was not projected to do well and was given the "JV" match up.  If I were Delany, I would schedule a Pac-12/Big Ten match up each year as well.  I also think the Big 12/SEC February match up was a stroke of scheduling genius.  While the Big 10 is limiting its non-con scheduling by scheduling games no one is watching in December, the Big 12/SEC were playing high profile games during a slow sports weekend (right before the Super Bowl and not having to compete with the NFL).

I'll be the first to admit that my initial reaction is very salty. Not because we didn't get in. But how do you put in some of that teams that had no success in the 2018 calendar year? That's pathetic.

Funny thing is that it'll be really tough for Nebraska to get Quad 1 home games outside of the ACC and Gravit Games Challenges in the non-con as well.  We basically have to hope for Quad 1 home games during the conference season.  We may need to start looking at playing a team or two in Omaha and KC.  Find a Quad 1 neutral team.

This is my issue.  Stop with the hub bub about evaluation.   There were certain teams (Nebraska being one) that were never truly under evaluation, because they based it on one or two measures.

I am fine with that, but just come out and say it.   Don't paint a picture that you are evaluating when you really only look at two columns and completely disregard things like the eyeball test.

This is where the true frustration lies.

I'm not simmering down until the regents/leadership stops catering to a university that is not in its system (CU) and starts helping the one that is (UNO).

Exactly. That game also rarely draws any attention outside Nebraska. As for UNO.....Remember when CU was in the valley and the huskers were B8 and B12? I do. CU needed that game and Nebraska obliged because of donor pressure. No reason for university system to allow CU to avoid UNO. CU is scared to death of that game

Yeah, this is not a Rasmussen thing. The way we were going to get in we're if they valued end-of-season performance, didn't listen to the media about how down the Big Ten was, and actually watched our games to see that not only we can compete but that teams like Wisconsin and Maryland aren't going to roll over and die like Ole Miss and Cal do.

Fact is we only had one win against a tournament team. Every team that made the tournament had at least a handful of them. It sucks that our opportunities against Purdue, Michigan State, and Ohio State didn't come at home, but most every at-large team has a win of that caliber on their resume. 13-5 is nice and all, but we racked up wins against average to below average teams.

My only gripe is that teams that have faltered down the stretch (Oklahoma, Arizona State) maybe shouldn't get in. But actually, if you look back at past tournaments, how you finish your season really doesn't have any correlation with how you do in the NCAA tournament. And to be honest, if we played Oklahoma's schedule, we might not have done any better. The Big XII isn't full of world beaters, but everyone but Iowa State is at the very least a solid team. We'd be underdogs if we played any of them on the road.

You cannot be serious right? If we would've went to Omaha and won we would be in the tournament right now if everything else played out the way it did. I understand the hate for Creighton in a rivalry but putting them on the same level as UNO is laughable. Rassmussen DOES NOT hate us. It looks like we weren't really in a position to really be brought up.

I am saying Nebraska needs to schedule ACC/SECB12 teams because it's an overrated win. Beating Creighton would not have mattered this year. Therefore, why play it. Playing at K-State would have been better for the metric lovers. Also, Creighton refuses to play UNO in a home and home and UNO is a university system school. If the Jays won't play the mavs than Nebraska should snub the Jays .
