I think our offense works well because of what KT did last year, he’s now the primary focus of the opposing team so it’s opened up the court for the others. I still think he’s our best overall scoring threat when he’s in the game. Last night showed me he can dish it back to a physical team that was doing everything they could to knock off his spots.

Agreed, plus with that attention going there our other guys are getting to flow and cook and KT still had kind of a quiet 23.  That’s a good thing.

The great thing about the Scally/Dest situation is it provides two completely different styles of play.  Pick your weapon.

Dest is a far better offensive option and Scally is a really good one on one defender who plays passing lanes well.  You can stretch the field with one and then lock down with another, I thought the way Scally played Davies today was excellent, didn’t really get beat bad one on one and sniffed out a lot of final third play.  Was very physical and took away a lot of link up play between Davies and David, canadas two best offensive weapons.

  3. Chris Richard’s also showed tonight what so many of us have seen over the years.  The dude was so legit in the bundesliga and then went to an odd situation at crystal palace which I didn’t like when it happened.  I think when he’s healthy he’s a starter, Scally also showed why he played every game this year for mogengladbach the battle between him and dest will be fun to see.

  4. The more tape I watch of this guy the more pleased I am by this pickup.  Besides his big 10 experience and abundant playing time he seems like a true point guard who is going to distribute well, not turn the ball over, play aggressive defense and hit the open shot if it’s there.  No trying to drop 30 a night like verge and will lead to good ball rotation.  Just a hunch but I think this is a better “true” point guard that everyone on here wanted

Blaise had a lower body injury two years ago and a high ankle sprang this past December.  Bluntly, he should be fully recovered now.

Blaise is a big man with an unhealthy background.  He will soon be here one full year and under the guidance of nutrition, strength, flexibility and skill experts.  If he is not 100% healthy at this point I will be disappointed.

My thoughts as well, I’m hoping for the best but also know that some guys just never heal correctly.  Not a knock on him it just happens, I’d rather have another option just incase the worse case scenario happens.

Yep.  I’m thinking Lawrence, Lloyd, and Kesei could be really good with the 6’7” guard we are already bringing in.  Wouldn’t mind adding Sallis’ athleticism to that bunch, but no need to settle for anyone at this point unless we don’t have Keisei back.

Kind of what I was thinking, if hunter comes it’s to run the point, we could really use another big with Blaise going through recovery.  We only really need another SG if KT doesn’t return or we want to fill out last scholarship with the best athlete we can get.  I still stand by really wanting sallis, Dunlop and the kid from North Star (sorry, drawing a blank in his name)

  7. I just feel like this guy is a must have for one of the final 3 spots.  We need more than one freshman for this class and the fact he’s over 6’7 and can shoot and attack the basket make him perfect for Fred’s system.  I’m a tad worried about the division of upper class-men to lower class-men next year and I’d like to have more than one freshman.  Especially with wisky Nick coming next year.

I just wanna say this is a talented kid who is in line to get a lot of minutes here next year no matter what else happens in recruiting. If he wants to play point, we'll have lots of minutes at point. If he wants to be a combo guard, we'll have lots of minutes for that as well. If he wants to be a 3-and-D wing, we'll have lots of minutes for that, too. And I think he's talented enough to command a bunch of those minutes. I've been looking forward to seeing this kid play for a year now. November can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.

If him and Jamarques can stick around for a few years and we could get rice and Dunlap I’d love that core as the young guys going forward and recruit pieces around them.  Length, athleticism and shooting ability.

Seems like the staff is operating as if they have 3 spots to fill still

Kind of my thought as well, especially with another big in the mix now.  Makes me think that 1-2 of wilhelm, Keita, Lloyd, McPherson, KT or Witcher might be on their way out or not be coming back.  With two spots to fill and positive rumblings from 4-5 guys it feels like this is far from done.  I think sallis is the only official visit left correct?

  10. Yeah I’ve seen that a few times in other forums and the funny thing is we have a few guys (walker, KT, Griesel, Gary) that a lot of teams in the conference would take and would play.  You don’t think Wisconsin or Iowa wouldn’t love to have a dominant inside presence like DW to go with their outside game?  It’s easy to make fun of us but we have some great old guard and some young guys (wilhelm, Dawson and Lawrence) who are getting minutes and some trial by fire right now.  That can only carry over to next year in a positive way when rice and Lloyd join the mix.  Get another 2-3 dog transfers like this year and I like the possibilities,  it I also like kool air so what do I know?  Lol

Have noticed that teams have been playing Keisei realllllly tight and not letting him get open for anything.  It's created some openness for others, but if you take that part of Keisei's game away, it really hurts his production.

Oh I totally agree, I’m just pointing out the obvious.  Those guys start consistently hitting from behind the arc and we’re going to hit another level offensively and should open up the puck and roll/iso game even more when they have to leave the lane defensively.
