  1. And with it we have lost moves like giving someone bugeyes the mushroom stamp or the Trojan helmet will never see strategy like that again in Wrestling.
  2. To be fair, there are only 5 true Olympic events. Pentathlon, Boxing, Wrestling, horse riding and Pankration (wrestle boxing) Anything outside of those five isn’t a true Olympic sport if you want to be historically accurate.
  3. Haha, I’m glad you remember dad, all time favorite player.
  4. This is how I feel, it’s been growing pains for sure. I remember driving down with my brothers and dad to watch KC when they were the wizards with like free tickets we’d gotten at a gas station and they played at arrowhead in front of like 200 people. I think the league as a whole as grown tremendously, but I do think there are probably 10-12 teams that can be credited with either keeping the league alive, upping facilities/academies/selling/buying expectations and having the fan bases to support these things. Now that we’ve found some footing as a selling league is put us up there with the Portuguese, Belgian or Dutch leagues in overall parity. Obviously you are going to have the Ajax’s, Porto’s and Anderlechts that are going to be above the top MLS teams year after year, but I’d like let’s say Seattle or LAFC’s chances of finishing in the top 5-6 in those leagues. You have like your top 3 monster teams and then it’s normally a grab bag after that.
  5. Well Seattle and Portland, long running tradition and especially in Portland making something in a smaller market stand out was impressive. I don’t quite agree with your description of Atlanta fans. I was there for a week and that city bleeds the red and black stripes. It’s a city of transplants from all over the world who have very little connection to American football, basketball and baseball. They have been clamoring for something they can start from the get go and it’s more grassroots then you are making it out to be. I also disagree with Atlanta not setting the tone...but not with the stadium, other than it being accessible for all social classes which I thought was cool. Ample parking and both the bus and train go directly there. They did change the way academies and buying and selling players has helped the league IMO. For years you had teams like the galaxy just overpaying for older players who put butts in seats for a bit but didn’t really elevate the game and then you were strapped for cash to put into your development. Then you had teams like Dallas who were developing well but weren’t selling when Europe was interested or putting money into making the game day experience better. Atlanta and Red Bull’s are the first two that come to mind when I think, develop, buy talented young players and build them up to sell (Almiron) and really play for a style all our own. This is where this league has really blossomed in the last few years, for this league to improve it has to become a selling/development(playing time) league and you can tell the half of the league that has figured this out and implemented it. And this post is not a knock on any other team, just a observation of a guy who has watched the coverage and game grow so much in the last 20 years. This is also why I’m excited for Union Omaha here!!! Grassroots club with invested ownership, great player signings and a development program that is ahead of schedule. Growing the game at the bottom makes the top even better. Anywho, debates aside keep watching footy and glory glory Man United. :) P.S. Paul Scholes is the best premier league midfielder of all time and I’ll die on that hill. Haha
  6. Meh...join the club lol. I’ve been a husker and eagles fan living in hardcore cowboys and Longhorns territory...I’ve work my Dortmund jersey to work not knowing my boss was a massive Bayern fan and I’ve been supporting man United since I was 8 and get shit all the time for it, and that’s just sports, wait until we get into comic book, videogame and music debates, I loose more friends then I make in those realms as well. Haha
  7. Not MLS talk, but Union Omaha in USL 1 has been very impressive the last two years. Fun home atmosphere as well. If I had to have an MLS club I’d probably say Atlanta United since It was my first MLS match since the rebranding and clubs started putting money into it. Awesome stadium and atmosphere there.
  8. Obviously his shooting from deep is great, but I feel like we may be underestimating him as a passer and slasher to the basket. Also, I want to call him the bowl-cut kaiju (big monster ex:Godzilla) but don’t want to be too forward.
  9. The only thing I worry about now is after such a good showing and ratings jump can we keep him committed till he signs? I have a feeling other teams will come calling now and I really hope his decision doesn’t sway.
  10. Yeah, I should have clarified I was just thinking about guys we could still get. Thanks for clarifying.
  11. A class of green, Ramel jr and traudt would be just fine by me. (If my math is correct we’ll have 3 scholarships if shamiel leaves) I suppose it all depends on how we feel about PG and if we can get someone like Hallomon on board
  12. Since this is all hypothetical I’m going with 5 Michael Jordan’s guaranteed to win.
  13. Haha, didn’t noticed I did that. Whoops
  14. Absolutely...it’s almost scary, like I’ll wake up tomorrow and it will be a dream in an episode of the twilight zone.
  15. Let this sink in, we have 2 to play 4 year top 150 transfers. A very promising top 200 7 ft center, a top 5 judo player a top 25 player and another top 100 player all in same class...pinch me I’m dreaming.
  16. I think the better analogy is a cock in the hand has to be found through the bush...or however that goes.
  17. So even though we are in his top 4 last I checked, do you think we are out (or stop pursuing) pinson from Mizzou? I haven’t seen anything new on him but thought we were high on his list and him high on ours.
  18. I was just laughing to myself because over your last 5 posts I imagined you going from excited/critical whiskey sour norm to green tea with a pinch of lemon and honey norm over this kid. . For the record I agree with what you’ve said, just busting your balls a bit.
  19. I mean this could be a JPJ success story 2.0. Not getting many minutes or points due to guys in front of him, comes to a school and system that rewards his skill and playing time and we have a stud. I just looked it up and Palmer was also averaging like 3.5 points a game both years at Miami and then came here and averaged almost 20 a game. Even if he’s not a true “4” star, the kid looks like a shooter and a playmaker and sounds like he plays defense tough. And like I’ve said before he’s had a year to acclimate to the college lifestyle, training programs and speed of play. Can’t fault bringing this kid in at all IMO.
  20. Hey, that movie is about a scrappy underdog that gets the girl. I can live with that.
  21. Well it helps that Shaka and his staff left. Could bode well for us.
  22. I wanted to watch more of their film since I don’t know much about them. Thanks
  23. That’s what I figured, just thought it might be tough taking two PG In the same class unless I’ve messed that upIn the same class unless I’ve messed that up
