According to KenPom Mast has never fouled out in college.  In fact he's only had three games where he's been called for more than three fouls.

Getting JLaw the PT that he did get toward the end of the year May have been the biggest blessing in disguise when thinking about the future.

So quick follow up question.  Other then the shot clock in Class A, what are the HS rule changes in the last 10 to 15 years?  I contend there haven't been significant rule changes; rather, the interpretation of the rules is the significant change.  
 
If so, reevaluate and start enforcing that contact is a foul, anywhere on the court, and the player who initiated the contact receives the call.  Once the initial shock and awe is absorbed by coaches and players, the game will be cleaner, faster with much more scoring.

Sam H….I mean wow.  This kid is right up there with any story on the team right now.  Redshirt FR, walk on, having the guts to play for your dad, 6’…and just stepping in on a struggling, injury riddled team of misfits. Playing with no fear in major minutes to help the team to some improbable wins.  Young man is legit !!

Sam Hoiberg is arguably the most important player in this run of us playing well these last few games. Im not going to criticize anyone else - but when you replace a player in the rotation with someone who doesn’t need shots, reverses the ball without an ounce of hesitation, makes all the correct drives, flies around on defense, makes true hustle plays… it opens up everything else for the guys who have scoring skills like KT and DW.

I can say without a doubt that his shoulder will not be 100%, having had shoulder surgery myself, but it should not hinder him either. 🙂

I may be mistaken, but I think this is the first time that Gary has had the injured shoulder repaired. His shoulder should be good going forward if everything goes well with rehab. Can't speak to the condition of his knee/s, but I think he had a little help with the facial fracture. 😉

On a personal note, I enjoyed sitting beside Buchanan on a flight last year. He could hardly believe I knew he started at NU at the age of 26 due to his military service (as I'm sure he doesn't meet Nebrasketball fanatics too often). T is one of the most personable folks you'll ever meet. Great conversation with a fellow hardcore Husker sports fan, particularly a Husker Hoops fanatic, like all of us poor souls.

This is true, but 2 of those starters came from the portal. Who's to say the staff can't land similar players again? And although all 3 of those starters were solid contributors, none are irreplaceable. This is college sports. Players graduate/transfer, others step up or in to replace them.

But it appears that Fred has figured out what he needs to do to win here and we do have a few nice pieces for next season's roster. If the staff can land some guys from the portal to fill the gaps, they have a chance to keep the positive momentum they've created this season.

I'm going to keep beating the Jamarques Lawrence drum.  11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers. Efficient. True freshman starting in the Big Ten. He has a total of 13 turnovers on the season. Shooting 41% from behind the arc. 

Our hoops NIL is decent.  We are competitive with what we’re paying current guys.  Hell, even Jeffrey Grace got a little money.  Understand that the NIL world has been evolving very quickly.  Our group had some stops and starts, and was figuring out how to best raise money.   While it’s organization has lacked the higher profile of 1890 for football and volleyball,  the hoops NIL folks made sure NIL funds were generous for this year’s roster.   Trev has very recently gotten more involved, and met recently with the head of the basketball NIL group (Who has ties to Fred but not Trev).   Shatel isn’t wrong that NIL commitment will be imperative, but I’m optimistic we’ll do well going forward in that arena.

I wonder if William Kyle III will look around. Having a great Frosh year at SDSU. If he could develop a serviceable jumper look out.

Ditto on Dawson's defense. As good as Bando has been, Dawson has been just as good.
