Big, needed change.

He really should have been the guy. I mean really should have. He was built to be our coach. He was everything quirky about Doc and Nebraska - but new age and innovative in a way. Younger, nerdy, quote machine, etc... brought the energy, the hype, and the dudes every once in a while. However, I can tell you all his public persona was not always the same as it was behind closed doors, in the coaches offices, or in practice. Things got toxic after some cracks in that persona started to show. But the idea from the beginning was perfect. And yeah, I loved the guy. Really thought he was the one

So disappointing. I had super high hopes for him. Never found his role... I worry that's his problem overall, he just doesn't have a role. Just not good enough at one or two things to showcase him, but good enough at a lot of different things you try to. But it doesn't work. Banton needs to stay. Time for him to develop and grow, not look for the easy way out. It will pay dividends for him to stay. And as much as I appreciate him and what he started to do at the end of the year, I'm totally fine with Thor moving on. It's just time.

Has anybody heard anything regarding: Banton Stevenson Thor

I feel like we're the type of school that a player like this doesn't have us in his top 4 unless we're like right there. Like, if someone asks you what your favorite colors are, and you say red, blue, yellow, and Vinaceous, meaning wine-colored, but not all wine, just the reds, you probably really like that color.

I'm not entirely sure where the Moos hate comes from. He's made some GREAT hires that at the time, people were incredibly jacked about. Not his fault (as far as I know) that they haven't succeeded. Only things I have issues with are his handling of the Oklahoma game and I think we kinda came out looking a bit... weird... with all the covid stuff. But who knows.

It is always funny to reevaluate how you feel at the end of the season - compared what your expectations were at the beginning of the season. The consensus on this board was exactly what you said - record might not even budge but we'll be excited about the improvements. That pretty much happened. AND HERE I AM, ABOUT READY TO JUMP OF A BRIDGE!!!

But to the OP of the post... My expectations are to be in NCAA tournament discussion. And honestly I'd be very disappointed to not make it. B1G loses plenty via graduation/transfer. We return enough.

Would going from 6'9" PG Banton to 5'9" PG Wendell Green be considered an over correction?

I made a pretty egregious mistake and error in how I worded what I said. I'll apologize for that but I'll let it up so everyone can keep dragging me. I enjoy the pain. I am a Nebrasketball fan, after all. I should have been more specific in saying that I love the basketball part and roster management aspects of the way Coach McDermott runs their program. Admittedly though, I tend to look past most illegal recruiting activity half these schools do because 1. The difference between most programs is some have gotten caught and some haven't and 2. I believe these players should be able to get market value for their skills, so I believe the system enables this poor behavior. But to the original point of the post. In my opinion, I hate this style. I hate the way college basketball is getting. And I thoroughly enjoy the programs who have guys who go through their system and stay until junior/senior years. Those are the teams I've chosen to watch and enjoy. I can't stand have to make flashcards each year to learn our roster. My favorite teams of all time are the UNC teams that brought dudes in as freshman and you knew everything about them, and watched them go from failure to National Champions. Obviously that world is gone. Doesn't mean I can't dislike it.

I'd hope we WEREN'T - because if these are the results......
