Another game of too many turnovers in part as unable to handle the press as should have been expected and practiced for.  Poor in the paint shooting.  Only 3 points from the bench.  Unfortunately Williams contract goes to April 2026,which we can not wait for termination.  She should not get a year extension so those of you that know Alberts need to get in his ear. NE in 3rd quarter 4-15, 1-5 on 3's, and 5-7 on free throws .   In the 4th quarter 1-10 on field goals; 0-5 on 3'ss, and 11-14 on free throws.   Yikes!!!!
                   

The level of turnovers is disturbing but in part caused by the Northwestern muggings with lack of fouls called. However what is also disturbing was the the number of turnovers by our top players with Haiby with 6, Izy with 5 and Jaz with 5.  These experienced players need to play smarter but also need to go help out when another players is getting boxed in.

I was wondering if Caitlan Clark could go to the WNBA to get her out of college women's basketball but,
"The WNBA "requires players to be at least 22, to have completed their college eligibility, to have graduated from a four-year college or to be four years removed from high school".   Darn!  

I emailed one of the Fort Hays Coaches to see what happe3ned to her.  She emailed back, "She decided it was best for her to not play basketball this semester, so she is no longer with the team."  She was kind of the energizer bunny for NE which we could use now!

I agree with this.  Passing, turnovers, live or die by the 3, game management, lack of recruiting expertise (or effort), player development, roster management, etc., are ongoing issues.  Either this staff finds another gear, or we have peaked.  Should Trev be looking for another HC?

Interesting game!  Positives included 12 NE turnovers to OS's  18; NE steals of 11 to their 6; and NE rebounds of 21 offensive and 18 defensive (39 total) to their 10 and 30 (40 total).  Meanwhile, NE had 76 shots and made 28 for 36.8%;  while OS shot only 56 and made 29 for 51.8%.   So NE shot 20 more shots and lost by 9 points.  Meanwhile, Williams called a time out in the first quarter and then not again until there was 2:45 left in the game and NE behind by 16 points!    What kind of a coach does not try to effectively use timeouts to try to inspire the team or give them ideas on plays to run!!! (or if nothing else to give them a breather!!!!)    As mentioned elsewhere, the coach does not have the team tuned in and ready to go at the start of games so we are working out of a hole from the get go!!

The women's basketball performance at Rutgers was mostly horrific, in part to a head coach who does not know how to adjust, call effective timeouts,, or run an offense against a zone defense.  The current offense of tossing the ball around the perimeter with it usually starting by going to the right side in many cases ending up with someone hucking up a three point prayer and lack of offensive rebounding after that (outrebounded 46 to 35 by Rutgers).  Our 4's and 5's get too low to the basket when they do get a pass and rather than passing out to an open player, either get tied up or a turnover or put up a poor  shot through a crowd.  Players generally lack movement on offensiv or are not shot ready if they do get a screen.  The team lacks 10-12 foot jump shot shooters (Weidner could) and people to drive the lane and possibly get fouled as well (Weidner  could).  Sam needs to do more on this (played 28 min against Rutgers0)and Shelley as well.  The team if they play like they did against Rutgers, Creighton, Drake, or the overtime against Indiana.   There are no pud teams to play in the Big Ten going forward, so the coaches and team need to suck it up with better plans and efforts!

Last year NE won 67-62. Haiby had 15 points, Scoggin 9 and Cravens 9. Lost offense from last year
