  1. KamdyMan...not that you would need to, but have you alerted the coaching staff? I'm sure they are well aware...but just in case....
  2. Very likely we lose. Highly unlikely we lose by 34 at home.
  3. If he transfers now to say....Nebraska he would have 3 years to play...right? As opposed to if he transferred at semester he would have had only 2 and half years assuming he didnt use a RS. He wouldn't be losing any elgibility if he chose to transfer now.
  4. And that stat may sum up why we are the team we are. Shields is shooting a meager 31% from the field against teams with a pulse. It's nice to know he can bring it against the likes of teams like te Citadel but more importantly it would be nice if he played well against solid opponents. Let's hope Miles and company finish solid on the recruiting season.
  5. He would if he consulted HuskerHoopsCentral for roster advice. But I doubt he does that. Well, going off the OWH he may already be thinking of those tough decisions.
  6. Doesn't need to be a 4 or 5 star recruit...id love another Leslee Smith type player on this team. It's clear by Miles answered to this question that Vooch will probably never play here. If we can fin another big body who can play 15-20 minutes a game then Vooch should go.
  7. Is it the right message? And what is the message, anyway? Maybe it's the same message being sent to Rivers? Maybe it was coach speak but per Miles..Rivers is on the bench because of his production. Right now, I would love to hear Miles thoughts on Shields production...can't hide 25% from the field. And if his lackluster play is due to being unhealthy then he most certainly shouldn't be playing 37 minutes.
  8. I think Miles used his rotations just fine vs Purdue....going forward I think Biggs should be getting around 30 minutes each and every game. He doesn't have to start...but we need him on the offensive end as much as possible if Shields continues to be a non-factor.
  9. I dunno about that. One in his whole career at Nebraska, Dinger played more than 30 minutes. He went 25/8/3. Doc didn't want to orient his team around Dinger. He wanted to orient it around Jeter. As nice of a player as Jeter was, that won Nebraska exactly zero NCAA or NIT games. Point is, he's "damned if you don't damned if you do". The head coach will ALWAYS be second guessed. Especially in the middle of 5 game losing streaks. I think Sam's point is Standhardinger was never really given a chance. If Doc gave Dinger the minutes he should have and Diner produced I doubt anybody would be bitching about his playing time. And you're correct...the end result always comes back to winning. And despite some posters infatuation with him Doc didn't win.....it's far too early to say one way or the other if Miles will win here. If we were playing well this issue probably wouldnt be discussed. But we arent...and Rivers is sitting on the bench all the while we have to watch Shields struggle each and every single game to the tune of shooting a whooping 25% from the field. Whats the harm in giving Rivers a shot at some of those minutes? It may be exactly what Shields needs. At this point I think it would be wise for Miles to exhaust every option. And yes, Miles knows way more about basketball than me and he knows his team far better than I...but I also recognize this guy is not Coach K and he is not untouchable. There are going to be things he does that are probably incorrect or wrong. Giving Shields 37 minutes right now is probably one of those things....he wants to talk about Rivers production...ID LOVE to hear his thoughts on Shields stats the past few weeks. If Rivers comes back and struggles...Shields will be there to eat up those minutes again.
  10. AKA...Serg it's time to transfer. We need size bad...and he has it. If he is not good enough to play on this team right now I think it's best for both parties to part ways after this year.
  11. This is what I'm worried about too. I'm sure Hammond will help with depth but he's likely not going to be the guy who pushes this program over the edge. We aren't even on the radar with any 2014 kids who have any hype around them. Sounds like next year is just going to be another rebuilding year, I'm afraid. I would give my left nut to be wrong, though If next year is a rebuilding year then the next year after that is going to be a rebuilding year. Then the next year after that. And so on and so on....at this point in the recruiting game it's not likely we will find a difference maker. Thus, let's hope this staff starts to do a better job of getting its players to "buy in."
  12. Not a bad thought...but my opinion on that is that even when off Gallegos demands attention from the defense every single game...every time down the court. Webster...right now...doesnt draw the same attention. As it stands even when not playing great Gallegos opens things up for Petteway, Biggs, and Smith who seemingly are the only other players who can currently consistently score on this team.
  13. Shields is 9-37 the last five games......I think it's time Rivers gets another shot. Tai played much better this game IMO. Nothing special on the stat sheet but a better game by him.
  14. And in a few years there will be no Biggs or Smith...and Petteway, Shields, Pitch are seniors. If not then....when? Rebuilding again? From what I gather from our current recruits Hammond and Pinder we should not expect either one to come in and contribute much right away. The next round of recruits are going to be very critical.
  15. . Are you so sure that's coaching? I would saw some of it is for sure.........although, can't blame Miles for Shields missing two free throws. Although, he does seriously need to consider cutting Shields minutes at this point if thats even possible. Shields has been pretty mediocre for awhile now. Who is he going to play? Vooch, Rivers or Hawkins. take your pick. If Shields isnt healthy....then he should not be getting the minutes he is getting. Especially with the way he is playing.

  17. And IMO....that's if we are lucky.

  19. It makes you wonder if we are seeing a lack of coaching also. The same team we saw months ago in regards to sloppy play and bad shot selection shows up every single day/night.
  20. Per Kent and Matt...we our on a 6 minute drought.......
  21. It's a shame...but we really don't have enough bodies just yet or else Shields minutes would be cut. The guy needs to ride some pine.....
  22. Please sit Shields.......my word.
  23. Great time to go in one of our well known offensive slumps.
  24. Petteway starting to take over this game....time to take it home!
  25. I'll take being down 3 at the half on the road. Need a better half out of Terran and we might just pull this one out.
