  1. Indiana -5.5 second half. Fouls are going to be crucial secon half.
  2. Ray is just a liability. Sucks when your senior is playing like a freshman. Wish we had someone to replace him with.
  3. In the Big 10, you can't afford too many bumps in the road. While a 5-5 start is not a killer....we need to start racking up wins over the next few weeks or we will be looking at having to win the Big Ten tournament to get a regional bid. I think everyone can agree it will be a failure of a year if we fail to make the postseason. Bummer gets knocked out of the rotation.....this weekend Huskers will go Kubat, Deleon, Sinclair. Looking for a nice sweep to start out the home stand.
  4. I've had better luck with Husker wins watching live stats. So sounds crazy...but I'm not sure if I will tune in tonight. We need all the good luck we can get.
  5. I'm not quite sure how many games next year I would put the over/under at before their fans start calling for Mcdermott's head. Hell, if I was Mcdermott I would get out of town after this year as I think they are set up for a few down years coming up. Losing the best player in college basketball is not easy...in addition to what they have left over on their roster it will be a tough pill for Jays fans to swallow next year after watching D Mcdermott work his magic the past few years. Watching the game last night the Gtown coaches at half said it best...."They don't have the athletes to stay with us on the offensive end....either they don't want to play defense or they can't." That will become even more apparent next year. There were times last night where Gtown got in the lane and the Creighton defender didn't even move...Gtown just went right around him. Even with their terrible defense...if they get a good draw in the tournament they can still make a run...but they could be looking at facing someone like Louisville second round now.
  6. I think it's becoming clear with how the other bubble teams are stepping up to the plate...we need to win these last two to be feeling good about our chances. We need a win badly tonight, hopefully we come to play.
  7. It would be huge as despite him not playing great the first game vs us he is a mismatch. With that said...we will still need to play much better than we have on the road to pull out a W.
  8. From Sports Illustrated...I'll take it. But I think we need to do more than just beat Wisconsin. Nebraska: The Cornhuskers put themselves in a very tough spot by losing at Illinois last week. They really couldn't afford another so-so loss on their resume, and now must either beat Wisconsin in their regular season finale or make some serious noise in the Big Ten tournament to get in the field of 68.
  9. Second team out according to Lunardi right now.....althought he spelled Nebraska wrong.
  10. This would be glorious....
  11. Don't want to wish injury on the kid...but that would not suck if he had to sit out vs us.
  12. The same thing that's been going on for 3 years now....zero progression under this staff. Not impressed with Erstad and his thus far. Can't blame Anderson this year. It's extremely early but we are going to have to play much better to sniff a regional. I'm disappointed with the start to the season, but to say there has been zero progression is a gross exaggeration. Not so sure about that....we still struggle with small ball yet Erstad and Bolt feel the need to force it down the players throats. We are still making bone headed plays on the base paths. We are still issuing walks at an alarming clip...yet Silva and Erstads mantra is pitch to contact. And the one thing we did extremely well next year hasn't been great this year(fielding percentage)....same problems we had in year 1 and year 2. We have enough talent to get a regional bid this year. If we fail to do so then the staff and players under achieved. Year 3....it's time for Erstad to show he knows what he is doing.
  13. Didn't get to watch the second half. Play NW is brutal. Kudos to Colllins and Miles for that matter....I think both are getting the most out of their teams.
  14. Benny should play as many minutes he can over Tai....and Rey should not keep shooting. Atleast not from the outside.
  15. Tai is a turnover waiting to happen. Hope Trey is watching.
  16. 3 turnovers by Tai in two minutes.
  17. The same thing that's been going on for 3 years now....zero progression under this staff. Not impressed with Erstad and his thus far. Can't blame Anderson this year. It's extremely early but we are going to have to play much better to sniff a regional.
  18. I'd rather not see Illinois again. Give me NW or PSU and I'd be happy in the Big 10 tourny.
  19. As it would for most teams....how many teams can pull out W's if their top 3 scorers struggle to score? Either way I don't really agree with Live by and Die by Petteway. We were in that game for the majority of the time...if one other player stepped up we may very well have won. Credit to Illinois for playing D but we also looked lethargic on offense and took some incredibly stupid shots.
  20. Looks good...except for giving Shields the player of the game. He was not good last night.
  21. Actually, he has us as the third team out right now. We are lucky that the other bubble teams had a rough night.
  22. Life is not all or nothing. We weren't great yesterday and we aren't terrible tonight. Ray's playing great defense and is always one of the hardest workers in the motion offense. For one thing he is not getting anywhere the number of shots as last year, partly because he isn't getting any sets run for him this season. That is not his role this year. It would be great for him to have a break out game. It may or may not happen, he has always been a streak shooter. Ray can play a bit. He has his weaknesses but I'm sure he could destroy anyone on this message board. He has dealt extremely well with going from being the go to guy to accepting his role off the bench. Most, and I mean most D-1 players couldn't deal with that. I'm sorry you feel bad about THEIR loss tonight, but insulting Ray is just childish. If you ever played I'll bet you were a finger pointer there as well. From what I can see, Ray is a great teammate. I'm sure he feels much worse than you because he is physically, mentally and emotionally invested as part of the team. As a fan I'm sorry they lost as well. Ray plays hard. He plays with heart. He is one of our guys. I'm rooting for him. Us Always. I stand by my statement. Right now Rey is not good. And hasn't been for some time. I realize we don't really have any other options and are just going to have to hope he can hit a few shots down the stretch.
