I was fine with Nebraska not taking him out of high school. Like what previously said, Nebraska struck out with guys like him from the state. Then when Nebraska did play SDSU last year, we crushed them and Baylor didn't look anything special. Glad he developed. He needed to go to a place like SDSU to get that development. Now he can cash that in to a bigger school. Hope it's Nebraska but it's likely at a blue blood. And do you blame him?

But would have Griesel become the player he is now if he came to Nebraska as a walk on? Going to NDSU and playing and developing helped him. It's easy to say that they should have taken a shot on him, but he did go to NDSU and not Iowa, Kansas State or another Power 5 school. 

I'd take F.F. and sprinkle in Cale Jacobsen. Those dudes would play hard, have major grit, and I think be successful; more so than the big pub that McGowens x2 got NU to.... where, exactly?!

I agree that schools like Arizona, Kansas, Kentucky have all had major recruiting violations and got slapped on the wrists. But the NCAA is known for protecting some schools and hammering the others. If Nebraska did violate a major rule I could see them give some harsh penalties the University.

Reason why NIU is recruiting the state so much is one of their assistants, Dan Jackson use to coach at Omaha Burke and when he was at SDSU the past several years he was their main Nebraska recruiter.

Donovan just lighting it up at Okie light. O for the season. In limited minutes. His scholarship replacement here just hit two for four from downtown. You have no idea how satisfying it is for me to report this.

Fred kept local kid, who then chose to take his ball and go elsewhere.  Fred tried to recruit a Omaha kid and didn't make his top 11.  There has been communication here, maybe Traudt told Fred and company they didn't have a chance (speculation on this).  Isn't there at least one more kid from Omaha Fred is looking at?  Which Div 1 football players did we not look at?

A buddy and I got some nice lower bowl seats for the NIT game in Omaha when Nate Johnson hit the game winning shot. As the Blue team fans were leaving some old dude tried to shoulder me. Too bad I didn't budge when he hit me.
 
I had several Creighton Prep kids in my fraternity that never cared about basketball unless it was against Nebraska and then wouldn't shut their mouths afterwards.

A buddy and I got some nice lower bowl seats for the NIT game in Omaha when Nate Johnson hit the game winning shot. As the Blue team fans were leaving some old dude tried to shoulder me. Too bad I didn't budge when he hit me.

I am fully expecting McGowens to be N as well and I'm trying to figure out how this will still end in some sort of horrible kick to the balls.  After committing, I would not be surprised if one of the following happens:
 
1)  McGownens is abducted by aliens, never to be seen again
2) During a 2021 preseason team building event at Lake McConaughy, McGowens has his shooting arm eaten by a shark
3) During a preseason scrimmage at Prairie View, Cam Mack hits a game winning 3 and shoots an arrow that hits McGowens in the heart.

I'm giving you sh!t. I don't think Teddy is toxic to recruiting. I don't think guys really think that much about him. Maybe Donovan did. But they're going to find character issues all over the country in just about every program they consider. And many will find them when they look in the mirror.

Why do people act so surprised that recruits don't want to play with Teddy? He's a good player but he's on his fourth team and has some "character issues." Especially with players like Donovan and Hunter who have options to play at big time schools?

I was a rocket too. Aced my 1st test in Colleras algebra class, after that the seating chart changed and i was magically sitting right next to one of his starters for the rest of the semester

I wonder how much of a relationship he has with Wes Wilkinson? It's not like they are close in age, but it looks like Wes has gone back and at least had some interaction with him. Maybe if they develop some type of mentor type relationship that can help Nebraska's cause.
 

Sounds like reasonable, well-thought out decision making to me.  And honest too; keeping Nebraska on the list would've been the easy (but dishonest) thing to do.  Maybe some of the adults on this board could take a maturity lesson from this 18 year old kid.

So we're blaming Sallis not coming to Nebraska on Donovan Williams? 🙄
