I've been hearing about "quality recruits" for 3 years.  And "quality transfers".  Most of them have sucked.  I ain't buying that.

I mean, I am not blown away by any of the guys we have signed, TBH. Had big hopes for Blaise Keita, but is he even playing these days? Or injured?

Not sure what a dolt is.  Dirk is amazing as is his writing.  Everything he puts in his stories are facts and people get mad cause they dont like the reality of it.  This is a really eye opening article and crazy the stats he found.

I get what he's saying, but when you arent having success it's hard to blow off local kids that are elsewhere

I read that and all I could do is just shake my head at the unwarranted smugness of the guy who has compiled the rosters of the 3 worst years in Nebraska basketball history. 

Miles 1st team was so undermanned but Docs last year I think with Bo Spencer was pretty painfull to watch.  

Not sure the logic is any worse saying the guy whose record is the worst in modern history over 3 years, and is 5-42 in league after 3 years is somehow the guy to figure it out and get us to the promised land.  I mean, those are "facts" also.   Who knows, you could be right, but currently it isn't just some bumps in the road as he tries to build a program, its an utter failure.   I've been doing this 55 years rather than 45, and during that time we've never been this uncompetitive.  And note that Fred's predecessor was "sniffing the NCAA tourney"  most years.     While we weren't winning NCAA tournament games, we sure as hell weren't finishing last 3 straight years with a "look" to the team one that even the most loyal fans can't stand to watch it. 

And after the Nebraska stint ruined that guy's career, the next little known guy will definitely think twice before taking the job.

There will be a line out the damn door for coaches to take a $3 million salary to coach at Nebraska, and they won't give a crap about how difficult the job is.  Or how fickle the fans are, none of that.  A guaranteed 12-15 million dollars will make a person's life very comfortable.

Hoiberg ain't getting it done. This year. Next year. The year after. 

I don't know what's more embarrassing:
 
Paying out the largest buyout ever for a basketball coach.
 
Or bringing back a coach who is about to coach an 0-20 or 1-19 or 2-18 Big Ten Team, in his third season, and waxing poetic about what a great job he's doing and how the future is bright. 
 
 

I feel like no one, either fans or teammates, wants to admit or say it but it feels like a certain high star player has this attitute.  Maybe Im wrong but you never hear teammates other then "relatives" talk about said player.  

This coming from Kobe of all people gives it more value in my eyes. A guy that took a lesser role to be here, and decided to come back when he didn’t have to. If he says it’s broken, it’s probably broken. He’s not just a guy disappointed he’s not getting his shots and wants to leave. 

Sip this morning said its hard to brimg a coach back that goes 0-20 or 2-18.  He said is buyout only goes down about $3M a year so at that point if things stay bad, are you really losing much?  Also said Andre was very close to leaving last year which is interesting.
