Same, actually, I'd clearly have Brice 1st, but yeah, it's the same order.

Initially I had it that way. But I kept coming back to the thought if we lose either one of those two guys my optimism for next season plummets. So Mast got a bump 😉

Sign me up. 4 years to play 4. Skilled big man!  I’m not worried about the MIP and the weed. Just freshman mistakes, to me that’s not a sign of character concerns. I got an MIP my freshman year in college, but that doesn’t define who I am. And I think I turned out fine, never been in trouble again.

I mean who am I to cast stones? I still drink a few beers occasionally and eat more than my fair share of edibles. Sign him up!

Hard to believe the roster has been cut in half (including seniors) in less than a week.

    Current Roster (scholarship players)

    Gary

    Mast

    Williams

    Lawrence

    Diop

    Uhlis

    Janowski

    Frager

     Hoiberg *

This list has me excited. Assuming this is the last of the transfers I like this list much better than last year's after the transfers.

You're getting piled on here for this take but I, for one, don't think you're being unreasonable.  We had some great experiences with Keisei on the floor, but folks tend to just remember the good times.  It was not that long ago that many of the people piling on were saying "if Keisei sees any significant playing time outside of mop up duty, we're in BIG trouble".

I don't think you're saying you don't want him to come back if it's an option and he's open to it, but rather that he (and us as a fan base) would probably benefit from moving on to the next chapter.

It happens time and time again, we see a kid mature and develop into a really nice player for us and then when they leave we all bemoan how much we're gonna miss him.  Well, yeah, that's how college sports works.  Can't keep everybody around forever.  Best to move on and find that next best player.

Remember how people were saying we were gonna be screwed this year because DWalk finished his eligibility?  Yet we ended up with one of the better seasons in recent memory.  I have faith that we can continue to move this train along without Keisei, and it seems that so do you.  Cheers!

Preferring he move on regardless how slim the chances he could stay and what you wrote aren't the same. But I give @Nighthawkthen benefit of the doubt that's not what he meant. It won't happen, but if you COULD have Keisei another year you do that and you don't even have to waste brain cells thinking about it. As for the people saying we'd be in trouble if he got meaningful minutes they were wrong. What they thought means nothing.

That's where I'm at. I loved that kid. If he could somehow find a loophole to continue hoopin', you know that statue won't build itself.... 😉

And my Keisei jersey was delayed and didn't make it in time for the A&M game. Want to be able to bust it out for a tournament game with Keisei playing 😁

I'd prefer he move on.  He's been an amazing player to watch, but he could probably make millions over in Japan...or do pretty well for himself over here.  Husker Nation needs to move on as well.  Delaying the inevitable won't do anyone any good.

I mean I'm pretty sure everyone believes this happening is winning the Powerball odds, but if it could happen and PREFERRING he moves on is crazy talk.

WARNING...take this for what it's worth. I received this from an anonymous source.  No clue whether or not it has any validity.  Read on if you wish.

Keisei Tominaga Petitioning for another year

Heard from someone in the student service/housing that Keisei/University are petitioning for another year due to a hardship during his first year at JUCO surrounding the language barriers. Apparently there is a precedent from years ago involving an ice hockey player with a similar situation.

Keisei still not sure on what he wants to do it, but wants to keep the options open.

It’s like losing a family.  A family that will never be the same again.  Not losing them to death. But losing the fact that you’ll never play together as a group again.  Never (most likely) be all in the same place at once again.  You lose them as everyone goes their separate ways.  And you’ll always have the nagging sense that you left things unfinished.  And that’s the hardest part. You know the guys are feeling the burden of still not winning that first game.

This. I've lost people, that's the worst. Been divorced, that's next. I've made a lot of long distance moves in my life. This kind of feels like that. You know when you move that you are never really going to see people in your life again from where you are moving from and it's sad.

He says “we’LL be back next year I’m telling you dog!”

Also Sam hits the wall with his hand off camera and Keisei showing the raw emotion. This video was cool to see but reminds us these guys are hurting. Big time.

Keisei's emotions is the worst for me. I feel for all of them, but when I see him it's like a stab through the heart.

That’s not what is in question here. I also hope we are better next year. All fans do. But the original post said we would be better because of Keisei not being on the team. So, that implies that even though he’s fun and enthusiastic and a fan favorite, we’re better off without him. I simply disagree.

Again big fan. But he's not irreplaceable. I too wish he had another year left so we could build a better team around him. But it is possible to build a better team without him too. He's not the perfect player. He did have faults.

One team looked like they returned 6 players from an NCAA tournament team that got beat by a Big 10 team.

The other team looked like they had 1 player with little tournament experience.   If we can make it again, I like our chances next year.  Especially,  if we get Brice, Mast, CJ, Sam, Gary, and Lawrence back.

I wonder if this outcome makes it more likely they return. I hope yes.
