  1. Attended game. Wasn't what I expected but I really think at the end of the season we will be a much better team. We have a lot of new faces seeing the court. Saw a lot of good things- everything just needs to come together which I think will happen with time.
  2. I’m feeling pretty optimistic! Looking at today’s bracketology a sweet 16 isn’t out of the question. Of course I know it will change drastically.
  3. My buddy’s daughter was told by Taylor, about 3 days following the injury, that she had an MCL injury and would be out 4-6 weeks. I think we are at about the 4-6 week mark now. Not sure what the purpose of the coaches telling the public that she would only be out a week was. Either way Glad to have her back!
  4. This was a below average team and not going to help us get ready for Big10 play. We really need a point guard. Hannah is good but we really need her as a scorer and I do not think she can do both. She is too good of a shooter to be taking a single digit number of shots per game. Things that are working for us now, against teams like today, will not work against the teams in the Big10.
  5. Glad to finally see Janay play! Hoping as she settles in she can give us a big lift!
  6. Found it kind of interesting that you used the word predetermined. If you go watch the first quarter from all the games last year, you will notice that players subbed in the game in almost the same order every game. A friend of mine used the word “scripted” when describing the puzzling subbing patterns. Last year it didn’t matter how players were performing, they still subbed in the same order.
  7. We did these same type of puzzling substitutions last year.
  8. Enjoyed the game last night but I will say our defense still needs a lot of work. Also too many turnovers against a team like this. Getting Nicea back will help!
  9. The way that some of you talk negatively about Jess and the things that I heard fans yell during games to Jess is good enough reason for me to understand why she would want to leave. Calling players fat, slob, lazy etc. behind a computer screen is disappointing. We lost the best H.S. player to ever play in Nebraska and some of the "fans" are accountable for that. FYI- I saw Jess in Omaha about 6 weeks ago and she looked like she was in the best shape I've ever seen her. Some of you need to remember- SHE"S A KID!
  10. I saw a picture on WBB twitter in which it looked like she was sitting out of conditioning. Hard to tell though. Could have just been taking a short break.
  11. Was at a tournament with my daughter a few weeks ago and saw Haiby play. Tons of potential to be really good!
  12. Looking at Leigha's other offers, Xavier, Western Michigan, IUPUI & Belmont I can see why she chose NE a few days after she was offered. Hopefully she surprises people.
  13. This was my point a week ago. WE NEED BODIES!! If we think we are going to get 4-5 high level players that are much better than RCJ this late in the game and on a team that won 7 games I think it's wishful thinking. We gotta hope we get 1 at this point! It is going to be really hard to get the level of players that we were getting 2 years ago with the program in the state that it is in. We had two players sit out for injuries this season and a large number the year before. With any injuries next year we could be in trouble. Sadly the reason we aren't hearing any news is because the players we have gone after are committing elsewhere.
  14. Coach said she "didn't know" if RCJ was going to get a scholarship next year or not. RCJ chose to leave because she felt she couldn't trust the coach anymore.
  15. I was privy to information last year when RCJ decided to follow coach. Yes she "essentially had a contract" in which she was told if she worked her way into the rotation that she would receive a scholarship. She definitely worked her way into the rotation this year and played in some very key minutes.
  16. First off you can't compare Coach to RCJ. Coming out of High School RCJ was at a much higher level than Coach. RCJ turned down a lot of Division 1 offers. Though that is off topic and not my point. How many walk ons do you know that a coach used as much as RCJ was used and not offered a scholarship the following year if not midway through the season. Probably none because that's not how you treat players. If Coach didn't think she was going to be good enough to make it as a Husker then she should not have used her, a walk on, all year and in some very crucial minutes of games. She was only 1 minute behind the 6th man for minutes played this year. "As the season wore on" . Yes as the season wore on and the Huskers went into BIG10 play RCJs stats got even better. Its not about whether or not she was going to make it or not because thats a matter of opinion. I am talking about the ETHICAL side of it. It's disappointing that you would USE a kid like that and not give them a scholarship during the year that you are using them or offer them one the following year. Do you think that when Coach Yori offered Woody a scholarship that she thought she was going to be a big contributor someday? I saw in the news that a player from Creighton, that will probably never play, just got offered a scholarship this week. There are 15 scholarships and they can't all be star players. Look at it from a different angle.
  17. I know that the Juco and transfers that we have offered seem to be choosing other places. Time will tell if it's because of the state of the program or some other reason. Coach was successful at USD but those kids were recruited in by the previous coach. We don't only need bigs, we really need bodies. So I'm not sure why we let RCJ get away. She was a pretty solid off the bench kid. Im disappointed that Coach used her all year and then did not put her on scholarship. She played a lot of minutes this year. If she wasn't planning on putting her on scholarship then she shouldn't have used her so much.
  18. I was told Maddie Simon was considering transferring towards the end of the season and the coaches talked her in to staying. So depending on what the coaches told/promised her..............
  19. Saw this tweet from Raoul. This was one of the transfers we had in this past weekend. Raoul‏ @Raoul_000 WBB: A 3rd player is transferring from Colorado, Monich Burich, 6-2 redshirt freshman forward, heading to Drake
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, since they are a conference school, wouldn't they have to sit out a year and lose a year?
  21. I don't think next year will be as bad as some of you think. Our four freshman shot really well from three. In fact they were the top four three point shooters on the team. Some of them even shot better in Big10 play. Plus the addition of the two transfers. I think if we run a four guard motion offense we might be able to compete better than some of you may think. I will also add that sometimes too many "want to be" scorers on the court can cause more harm than good.
  22. I had heard both but I cant imagine she was too unhappy at USD this year. She was playing a lot of minutes and they were winning. I do know that the source that gave me this information had said that her parents had mentioned transferring after the 2016 season.
  23. I had heard, probably back in December, that Jaycee Bradley was wanting to transfer to Nebraska. I think this is highly unlikely with the season they had at USD.
