Where are you seeing this?   nothing on rivals or 24/7 or his twitter.

I think we call all pretty much agree that these 4 are most likely to be starters but it just who will slide into the 5th spot.  It's nice to have options as we can add another guard or big body to the starting line-up.

The starting lineup could evolve over the course of the season but it's nice to be solid 2 deep at all positions.  Here would be an interesting line-up

Just saw this as well.  I was really hoping we got another year from him but totally understand.  Wish him well and hopes he gets drafted or makes a team.  Thought he could even be a starter for us this year.  Still a good look that Fred is putting kids in the league.  That is what will attract more 5 star players to come here.

Just not a huge fan of this whole NIL thing.  It will change college sports and not for the better.

Think of it this way.  It we think the transfer portal is busy now, you really think the back-up QB or RB at any school is going to stay if he thinks he can go to another school and make more money.  Kids will start blaming coaches if they don't play enough or start cause now it's costing them money.  And the team chemistry will be really interesting as there can be hard feelings if teammate are making lots of money and they aren't.  People make is seem like they kids aren't getting anything now and that is so far from the truth.  They get a free education, meals, clothes, etc.  And if you go to a bowl game, you get things like a free PS5 (or whatever the latest version is now).  Basically this will be the end of "amateur athletics" and now college kids will be promoting themselves just like pro athletes to get endorsements.

Don't believe everything you read as kids make it sound like that is their top school after every visit.  I think we do have a shot at Wilcher which would be an amazing get and if we can get him to commit early enough, it might attract some of the other top talent to join him.

CU is certainly doing some illegal recruiting to land a top 5 class in the nation.

I agree with everything you outlined Norm and would add that our team depth has to be solid.  Last year, we had a drop-off in some positions when the starters weren't on the floor.  Great teams have back-ups almost as good as the 5 starters so you don't lose much when you sub in.  I really think this year, our team depth will be the key.  We ran out of gas in several games we lost last year due to this issue and if we can develop better depth this year, those can easily be turned into wins this year.

Drew Timme will be the preseason national player of the year. Chet Holmgren will be the preseason national freshman of the year. Andrew Nembhard would've been a late first or early second round pick had he entered the draft this year. They'll still have 4-6 NBA guys on next year's roster. Mark Few has made it to the Sweet 16 in the last 6 tournaments in a row, many times with a less talented roster. Completely different situation than Butler and Texas Tech.  Of course anything can happen in March, but there's no doubt they'll be a Sweet 16 caliber team again. 

Apparently you guys didn't hear. Who needs a 5-star player when you can replace him with a Northwest Missouri St sharpshooting transfer who's a huge addition and a  perfect fit for the system? #letitfly 

While I do like what seems to be an ability to push the ball and to not need to over-dribble, I feel like he's a combo guard because he's a SG who can handle the ball, not a PG who can shoot. Regardless of what positive attributes or observations we can assign to Trey Mac, Banton, and/or Webster, that group represents the ball handling core of the worst TO% offense Hoiberg has ever coached.

So total number of wins depends on the non-conference schedule which we haven't seen yet.  With the core group we have coming back, I would think we can get to 20 wins and finish in the top half of the conference.

That would be a very solid starting lineup.  The only 2 that I think are guaranteed to be starting are the McGowen brothers.  The other 3 spots are still up for grabs but could see it shaking out with the line-up you have listed.
