  1. I for one wouldnt want to honor any of my ancestors who fought to keep slavery. There is nothing noble, honorable, or heroic about that. Feel free to sympathize with deceased confederate soldiers and their families. However, I will continue to direct my energy towards the people who have to walk around their own communities and see monuments and statues of people who viewed/treated black people as livestock. And for students who have to enter schools memoralizing individuals who didnt even think POC were worthy or capable of receiving an education.
  2. Trey McGowens will start if eligible. But he currently isnt so I will noy include him. The starting 5 will look something like this: - Dalano Banton - Teddy Allen - Yvan Ouedraogo or Derrick Walker - Kobe Webster, Thorir Thorbjarnarson, or Shamiel Stevenson (two out of these three will start) I would be a little surprised if Lat Mayen is a day one starter. I would be shocked if Akol Arop, Eduardo Andre, or Elijah Wood or starting.
  3. Rolling in the instate kids now. Millard West kid that was committed to Texas A&M just flipped and we got a verbal from Byron Hoods little brother out of Norris.
  4. Id say Stevenson or Webster. I think Teddy Allen will be the leading scorer by a wide margin and then we will have a closely grouped bunch in that 7 to 10 PPG range.
  5. Who's the favorite to be the second leading scorer heading into the season?
  6. Still feel the same. Assuming Elijah Wood is utilized as back up ball handler and as a depth builder at wing if injuries or foul trouble arise. Atleast one player out of Elijah Wood, Eduardo Andre, and Akol Arop will need to be able to fill a 20-25 game/8-12 MPG role next year.
  7. The top of her head goes to about his bottom lip, right? My guess is Yvan is anywhere from 6 to 8 inches taller than her. Lol still doesnt help depict how tall Yvan or the young lady is.
  8. - Dont lose "buy" games - Winning non-con record - Double digits in the overall record win column - Five or more B1G wins Starting low until we get more information. I do think this team has much greater potential than what i listed.
  9. If you're talking about all sports, NHL was the first to announce a plan followed by the NBA. I have doubts that either will actually kick off and if they do, they will not be completed. Just in my small world alone, I see too many ppl not doing their part. Sure hope im wrong bc i desperately want an NBA finish, a college fb and NFL season, and Nebrasketball!!!
  10. The Basketball Tournament cuts its field from the usual 64-teams to 24-teams (due to COVID-19). Unfortunately, Omaha's Finest did not make the cut.
  11. Congrats!!I have a 5 month old daughter myself. Its definitely an amazing experience. Any idea where your sister-in-law got that or if it was hand made? I would love to get one or something similar for my little one to wear during her first Nebrasketball season.
  12. So the only class that got larger was the freshmen class? As freshmen from last season will still be freshmen and join in with the incoming class? And senior classes probably shrunk as some seniors decided not to return.
  13. Honestly love seeing no Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Arizona, etc in the top 5.
  14. Sit one to play one? Or does the 2020 season not count so he will have two years? Could also be eligible right away since he transferred back to his home city during the pandemic.
  15. Still up in the air. Depends on what the Myrtle Beach tourney draw looks like and who we get in the B1G/ACC Challenge.
  16. Yvan, Thor, and King (if eligible) are all part of my predicted rotation. Huge opportunity for guys like Akol and Eduardo Andre to close the gap or maybe even get a leg up. Probably doesnt matter so much for Thor and King since they both are very experienced CBB players and will more than likely transition back in seamlessly.
  17. Lol I use the AAC in the video game as the "Big East". Thought the Big East conference name was more fitting since the teams are actually all on the East coast or in the Northeast
  18. She isnt the 9th most marketable athlete at UNL. The table you quoted is showing the most marketable athlete from each sport. There are many other athletes (presumably FB, MBB, and VB players) that would make more than her but are not listed bc they are not the most marketable from their respective sport.
  19. I have noticed that my affinity for college football has waned over the past few years (I used to be a fanatic). I think a lot of it has to do with these crazy and ridiculous conferences. I have started to enjoy annual matchups with Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota but still feel no appeal to playing Illinois, Indiana, Rutgers, Penn State, Maryland, Purdue, etc. And its not just bc some of them are bad teams as I had no problem playing Iowa St, Kansas, K-State, etc from the Big 8/12. I really just miss the regional appeal of conferences. So I decided to give myself what I want... via X-box 360 and NCAA Football '14. I simulate college football seasons with my realigned conferences listed below. I roll with seven 10-team conferences that include all P5 teams and a couple top notch G5 programs. Everyone plays the same amount of conference and non-conference games and theres no silly conference championship games. Here are my idea for conferences (ironically, Nebraska gets stuck in the least regionally sound conference due to the small amount of Midwest and Mountain West programs): ACC: Clemson, South Carolina, North Carolina, NC State, Duke, Wake Forest, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Louisville Big 12: Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Texas, TCU, Texas Tech, Texas A&M, Baylor, Houston, LSU, Arkansas Big East: Connecticut, Boston College, Syracuse, Pitt, Penn St, Rutgers, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Virginia Tech Big Ten: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Purdue, Notre Dame, Illinois, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan St, Ohio St MWC: Iowa, Iowa St, Nebraska, Missouri, Kansas, K-State, Colorado, BYU, Utah, Boise St Pac: Washington, Washington St, Oregon, Oregon St, UCLA, USC, Cal, Stanford, Arizona, Arizona St SEC: Miami, Florida St, Florida, UCF, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss St Would absolutely LOVE to see something like this in real life.
  20. Dalano and Teddy. If they are as good as advertised we will make a huge jump. Also excited to see how Thor fits in with better talent around him.
  21. Im so excited! Cant wait. There were two other models i preferred but i get what the NBA is trying to do with this one. A lot of teams are close in the standings so those 8 regular season games will be crucial.
  22. Orlando i believe. Disney world or land. Whichever one is down there.
  23. Looks like the NBA has zeroed in on the template they would like to use to restart there season. This will be voted on by team owners tomorrow and is expected to pass. They will be bringing back 22 teams. All 16 teams currently in the playoff field plus any team that is within 6 games of the eight seed. That equates to one team from the East (Washington Wizards) and five teams from the West (New Orleans Pelicans, Portland Trailblazers, Sacramento Kings, San Antonio Spurs, and Pheonix Suns). All 22 teams will play 8 regular season games. The conclusion of those games will finalize the 1-7 seeds in both conferences. If the 8 seed is 3.5 games or more ahead of the 9 seed than their berth is secured. However, if the 9 seed is within 3 games of the 8, a play-in series will be conducted. With the play-in tournament it is double elimination for the 8 seed and single elimination for the 9 seed. Very inclusive/creative idea as they are definitely trying give bubble teams opportunity to make up for the loss of the last 20ish regular season games. I fear they are doing too much, given the fragile state we are on with the pandemic. We shall see how it plays out.
