I watched one of her games recently. She hit 8 out of 9 three pointers and had a bunch of other points as well. Taylor McCabe from Fremont is considered by many as the best outside scorer in Nebraska right now but in my mind it won't be too long before Britt Prince has that title. It would be great to see them play against each other in 4 years when McCabe is a junior at Iowa and Prince is a freshman at Nebraska.

How the hell could Ohio St. be #8 when looking at games through 1/10. They didn't beat anybody up to that time and their only road win was at Illinois. Yes they did beat Iowa on the road last night ending their long home winning streak but that was 3 days after their 1/10 ratings. Maybe they have an accurate crystal ball and could see the Iowa win coming. They treat Nebraska like crap. Their system sucks!

When Trinity Brady got hurt the first time coach addressed the injury about a week later and said it was day to day. If I remember right she was still on crutches. If Issie is out as long as Trinity we will be in trouble. One Freshman reserve at guard and one Freshman reserve at forward. Good experience for them but not much relief for the starters which includes Ruby starting for the first time.

The loss we have to Creighton every year hurts a lot.

I haven't said much on this topic but just want to state that I think even though there may have been many smaller reasons she left the big one was that we did not look to be a very good team this year. Michigan has been on the upswing and even though they initially passed on her in recruiting they made sure that they wouldn't pass on her again. Kudo's to our coaching staff for finding her in the weeds and helping her development for 2 years.

Michigan will be very tough on the road for us. Lots of emotion on both sides. We need to hit a lot of threes and win the rebounding battle big time. Turnovers will probably do us in as of right now we are having way too many. That stat will probably not improve much until we get a great point guard.

The last couple of years we have been a lot different team at home versus on the road. Playing tough defense will help but there is no substitute for toughness and senior leadership.

Win or lose all I know is we are playing better with more chemistry then last year and people understanding their roles more. Young team with 5 of the eight players new this year. A week or so ago wasn't there complaining with predictions that even another win may be hard to come by. Whitney Brown continues to be my favorite player. Plays to her strengths and avoids her weaknesses. Pretty good for a freshmen walk on. Players like her do a lot of things for the team in limited minutes.

The way she is playing this year she might make the cut. In the Heartland Holiday Tournament in the semifinals against Lincoln East on Thursday she scored 37 points and had 16 rebounds. Today in the Championship game against Fremont she had 44 points and 22 rebounds as they won the game 79 to 67. You can watch the game on you tube. Junior Guard Taylor McCabe who is committed to Iowa had 19 points. She can sure as hell shoot the three. Looks a bit frail to me.

Statistics say that sooner or later the injury situation odds will break our way. A few of these players healing up and staying that way would certainly help. Merry Christmas to all and a happier new year as well.

How can Kate Cain only have one rebound. That tells the story about why we got out rebounded so bad.

I had to quit watching. Kate Cain is driving me nuts. 4 year starter. 0 rebounds first qtr. No defense. No hustle. And a captain. Lack of effort is pathetic.

I'm going to narrow it down to what has been my biggest concern and it drives me crazy. The lack of a high quality point guard. They are the quarterback of the team and makes everyone around them better. Haven't had one since Theriot. Misses there in recruiting and the transfer portal. Having Doyle and then Emily Ryun would have helped. Another year without one like we are now experiencing is very disappointing. 5 years to correct this issue. Hopefully Allision Weidner will be a step up next year.

Kate Cain and Ashley Scoggins are no shows. Actually for Kate it's embarrassing to be a 4 year starter and play this poorly. She is getting schooled in every aspect off the game. As for Ashley it's too big a jump to go from JC to Big Ten with no speed or ability to create a shot. I feel bad for Haiby as she working hard but the shots aren't dropping. Izzy looks great.

I understood she did have an offer from Iowa.

The one where everyone stopped was within the last 2 minutes of the game. Bourne was right there and the ref initially said she touched it last. They then reviewed for a long time but still gave the ball to Illinois. The review on TV definitely showed Bourne didn't touch it. They need to get their crappy calls right. Could cost you a game. The other one was first quarter and there was a ref right there although he had a poor angle to see it. Must have been snoozing.

We also got screwed twice on incorrect calls by the refs when they said we were the last ones to touch the ball before it went out of bounds. The one in the last two minutes was reviewed and was very obvious Illinois touched it last. If they didn't have the review we all saw then my question is why not. The other bad call was in the first quarter the Skoggins was driving to the hoop from the left side and Illinois tipped it away. The ball actually hit the out of bounds line under the basket and was grabbed by an Illinois player. Their point guard took it the full court for a lay up. Should have been our ball.

Cravens also got the opening tip. She has hops and is tough. Great acquisition.

For a team that was shooting the 3 poorly coming into the game Illinois sure is hot. Also their # 0 needs a hormone check.

Illinois will need to cool off in shooting for us to win.

Kate's having a bad night. Can't rebound or score. Game is too fast for her.

Even if that's the case Stewarts minutes are going to go up. Might as well find out if Bourne can play the 3 position.

Coach says she is day to day.

Will need to get Cayton healthy and playing. Whitney Brown will get more minutes.

The only other loss K St. has this year is to number 11 Kentucky by 11 points.
