  1. I totally agree. I think she will graduate this spring and may want to finish a masters program here. She knows our staff, team and opportunities for playing time. She seems to be recovered from her early season injury and it will be interesting to see her playing time and contributions in our remaining games. Maddie K. may move on as she graduated last August and we will be gaining 4 guards while losing 2. We presently will have from 2 to 4 open scholarships next year depending on who goes or stays.
  2. Tom I agree with all of your thoughts. I believe that each player in most sports at this point are considering whether they want to get on with their life in their chosen field versus continuing in sports. We are all uniquely different. What ever she decides I am happy she came here and will continue to support her going forward. And yes we do have several scholarships that could be used in the portal that hopefully would improve our team especially if they had several years to play.
  3. After the Minnesota win yesterday we moved from 30 to 27. Could be in top 25 if we could get what would be a quad one win over Illinois next Sunday at their place.
  4. I think she will help us next year. There is a place for shorter guards that have a full range of skills and the desire to excel. Look at 5-2 Soph Ronnie Porter from Wisconsin. She hurt us with 10 pts, 9 rebounds and 7 assists in our game with them earlier this season. Kennadi may be a bit taller and is a better 3 point shooter. Staying healthy will be a key.
  5. Her personal efficiency was 29 which is pretty high and her seasons best. She could cement freshman of the year this Saturday with another good game against Minnesota and showing up Grace Grocholski one her competitors for FOTY.
  6. If I remember correctly she had both feet operated on during her junior season and never quite got fully healed or back in top playing shape during her senior season. Maybe with NU'S training staff she is now OK. She was hot as a firecracker the first half and is playing a lot more of a complete game. She also is a good rebounder.
  7. I hope she sticks with this lineup as well and let's them gain time playing together using their strengths. If we play well everyone will get a chance to contribute. Hope we have a good crowd to support our team especially with what is going on. GBR
  8. I have faith that our coach and athletic director knew what they were doing at the time and will continue to do so. That being said it can be one hell of a detraction or a rallying point for our team. We will soon find out.
  9. I like Petrie's upside. But next year we will possibly lose Stewart and Coley isn't very physical. I think a pickup in the portal would be a wise move especially if the player had 2 or 3 years left. Losing Mendelson and possibly Stewart leaves us short at the post.
  10. I watched the Michigan State/Michigan game at Michigan. Michigan should have won. I still want to play Michigan St. in the conf. tour. with them as the 5 seed and us the 4 seed. It would give us another quad 1 win opportunity. The media sure loves Mich. St. and their coach.
  11. To me beating IOWA in front of a full house on national tv made my year. Especially holding Clark scoreless in the 4th qtr for the first time in her career.
  12. I watched the game on Peacock. Michigan played fairly well but Clark came out on fire and stayed that way most of the game. Besides her 49 points she had 13 assistants. It was a real love fest for her.
  13. Net back to 31. A great example of not who we played but how we played. Basically dismal.
  14. I wonder what the betting odds on her going vs staying?
  15. I have said for awhile that I don't think she comes back. I still feel that way. I think the WNBA will do everything possible to make sure this once in a generation player goes pro after this season. Just my gut feeling.
  16. I know that Alexis, Jaz and Natalie are consistent enough to have good games. I am more interested in how Logan N, Kendall M. and an injured Darian W. do. Also can Callin H. contribute?
  17. I replayed the lack of a 5 second call several times with a stop watch. It came out to be a little over 6 seconds. In my mind it would have been a huge call on the team that was supposed to win and the ref just couldn't do it.
  18. Probably won't be close. Just play well and don't get anybody hurt. A loss unless it is a bad one won't hurt our net much if at all. The next four games after this game are all winnable. A four seed in the conf. tournament with a win would look pretty good. A 7 seed in the Big Dance would be a possibility. Especially with a second win over Mich. St.
  19. When we got to the game I told my wife that it looked like about 1/3 were Iowa fans. Hard to tell as they weren't distributed evenly. But after being loud and happy for 39 and one half minutes of the game that sure changed during the final 30 seconds. I just loved it. Best feeling in the world.
  20. Taylor's younger sister Payton McCabe is a senior this year at Omaha Skutt. She will play for Drake next year. She is a 5-6 guard. I don't think Nebraska recruited her.
  21. Wishful thinking by me on previous posts: It would be nice to see Jaz to get back to shooting the threes at a better % like the season she had 2 years ago where she hit 41% for the year but then we also had Haiby and Weidner to successfully take the ball to the hoop which helped set Jaz up. Remember when she hit 9 threes setting a conference tournament record against Illy? All I'm saying is it would be nice to see Jaz have a hot night now and then as you won't get that from Krull or White. Wish granted. Thanks Jaz. I have been wearing my Jaz sweatshirt with pride.
  22. Having a one game lead over Michigan State, Penn State and Michigan coupled with the tie breakers over Michigan and Michigan State helps us towards getting that coveted top four finish. We need Penn State to keep losing and for us to continue to play well. Our last four games are all winnable but you see upsets happening every where. GBR
  23. I have been to many many NU WBB games over the years. This one made me feel the best ever. As previously noted I really hate to lose to Iowa even if we played them in tiddlywinks. Last fall I sat at the NU Iowa FB game freezing my butt off surrounded by rude Iowa fans and we lost when we shouldn't have. Today At the game I was surrounded by Iowa fans with only one that was rude sitting right behind me. I was ecstatic watching them all leave after the loss grumbling and having a long drive home to reflect on it. GBR.
  24. I agree. But that loss seems to have been one hell of a wakeup call to our coaches and team. Two great games since. Just need to carry that feeling forward. As of late Moriarity and Nissley have really been trending up.
