Yep. MY Team, MY Coach. When the head guy is different, then we'll have to re-adjust. Until then, thanks for the fun season, Big Red. Wish a few B1G things were different, but I will always appreciate the 5 seniors on this squad. Special group. #GBRAlways

    Season...over.

Team fought hard, but the foul trouble with Roby, his ejection and a total lack of depth ended up toasting us.

Hated the months of January and February.

The last two weeks or so were good to see.  Showed a lot of fight, but the bar was set, and we did not meet or exceed the expected height.

There is an important life lesson that many people miss, but I will not lecture.  But as a person who has been on this earth for a long time, I have learned an important lesson, just because we may hate the sin, you do not need to hate the sinner.  Coach Miles is a man of character and he has performed with class and brought positive national press to Husker basketball.  That said, he quite honestly is not the coach to take us to the level that the fans expect and deserve.  We have had a lot of coaches at this fine institution that fits that M.O.  So there is no need to bash him or his staff, although many seem intent on doing so.  But it is time.

Now, that said, the next few days, weeks and months are going to be very interesting.  I also hope that the fractures that exist within Husker basketball nation will soon be fixed/healed.

    Go Big Red!

What a disappointing way for things to come to an end.

    - Roby was killer. Just torpedoed any chance we had to make a game of it. The whole F2 thing with the TCU player was not good either.
    - It didn't help that JPJ didn't show up for the first half either. 0-10 at the break was pretty killer, too. Nice that he came out on fire in the second.
    - Tanner played his butt off, but he's not a guy that can carry a team. If you add that to normal JPJ and Roby games, maybe we've got something to work with.
    - And now we wait for whatever's next. I think it comes quickly. Probably tomorrow if it doesn't come tonight. If the rumors are true, the future is exciting, but right now, I'm bummed with how this season and this game went.

If this is the end for Coach Miles, I'll always remember this era of Nebraska basketball fondly, for many reasons. I wish, oh how I wish, it would have ended differently...

I still follow Sadler's career. The guy couldn't make it happen here, but he had a very admirable level of character. The guy cared so much about this program, and possibly still does. Same will go for Miles when he leaves.

I just feel fortunate that our last few coaches have fought for this program to the very end. That doesn't always happen. I very much hope the same thing with Hoiberg. Hopefully it's a fun ride.

Don't want to start any unsubstantiated rumors, but I swear I saw Hoiberg's son throw the bones after he made a FT against Minnesota tonight.

I’ve read they’re bringing in Jim Tressel as the head coach, Hoiberg will be his OC, Doc his DC, and Miles will actually be staying on as a donor/booster relations. Don’t quote me. Just passing along from my rock solid sources.

The Bill Moos hate on this board is so strange to me. So the guy gets hired in October 2017. Clearly his focus was on the football team. Riley was going to get fired. Moos in statements said that he would "wait till the season was over to evaluate the football program." While this was happening he worked behind the scenes to secure Frost. The Saturday after the season finale he fires Riley.

Meanwhile in the basketball they come out of nowhere and finish with one of the best win totals in school history (poor schedule) and still don't make the NCAA tournament. Moos makes his expectations clear to Miles. This year was suppose to be Miles best team (despite poor roster management) but they implode after Copeland injury. After the regular season Moos puts out a statement that he will evaluate the basketball program after the season. Similar to Frost he has been working behind the scenes to secure Hoiberg. Once the NIT is over, Miles will be fired the next day.

Sorry for the Oral History, but I just don't get the outrage. His expectations have been clear to Miles.  If a guy is consistent with his not commenting on job status till the season is complete, what do you want him to do? If he's not making public statements or support about one program, why another?

I've been weirdly calm for once, I think Nebrasketball's going to turn the corner back into relevancy. The Huskers were there in the early-to-mid 90s. The football team's already in good hands. We'll see how it plays out. I feel good. Nah, nah, nah; nah, nah, nah -- I feeeeel good. ?

If Timmys gonna go out, atleast hes going out with a bang. Regardless of how you feel about him as a coach, hes a great person and definitely deserves a great finish.

As I’m sure everyone here has deduced I can confirm Fred will be the next coach of Nebraska basketball. 1000% locked up. In my opinion, the biggest thing to happen to Nebraska basketball.

I can't figure out how to downvote on my phone and I'm not currently at a computer to do it there. But please let this suffice instead: actively rooting for your own team to fail because you want to fire someone sooner is a fairly crappy thing to say. Who are you to say that the guys wouldn't rather spend spring break playing the game they love with the teammates they love? I'm sorry if it may inconvenience you as a "fan" to have to wait another few days for a group who has worked countless hours over the past year (or several years) trying to represent this university and state well to get canned so you can have your replacement if choice potentially be hired instead. Or not, who really knows at this point. But this team, and these coaches, have done things the right way, worked more hours than most can even begin to understand, and put together a last stand that just about anyone else in the country can at least respect if not applaud.

If you want a loss so you can personally be happier, that's cool. But please don't even pretend to call yourself a fan or hide behind some "long term health of the program" line of BS.

You'd get a lot more up votes if you mentioned that a different blue team was about to become the NCAA's favorite target.

Fred is not going to KU for two reasons.

1.) They are Iowa States primary rival in the Big 12 and he is not going to face his old school twice a year.

2.) They are about to get obliterated by the NCAA. I have it on good authority that the NCAA is going to make an example of Kansas and really do some damage to their basketball program. Not a situation Fred wants to step into.

Sounds like a personal problem to me. You have the option to ignore what I say, but not sure I've tooted any horns. Also seems that people come to a place like this to learn about things they otherwise wouldn't. Didn't know this was a forum for one line of thinking and the only credible people on here are the ones that spend every waking hour for the last 20 years. Seems foolish to just dismiss someone because they aren't a "regular" poster. If you don't believe what you hear just ignore and move on as you seem to be able to peg the credibility over a computer screen. I just gave info that was not being talked about. Throwing it at the wall to see if it sticks doesn't fit here as I've really only given what I know and have only really give one piece of info.

Just an FYI, Jack will never play a meaningful minute at MSU. He’s there to become a college coach. That is in no way a hurdle for Fred coming to Lincoln

Permit me a brief rant here -- this really ticks me off. If I'm remembering correctly, these used to go out in mid-February. I get that we were in a swoon, but there were still enough games left on the schedule that the NIT was still very much a possibility, if not the NCAA. It's possible I'm reading too much into this (but given the apparent trend, I don't think I am) -- but the fact that our own athletic department didn't see fit to send so much as an email indicating that this might be on the horizon is frustrating to me. It's fascinating that @hhcmatt started really talking about it on Twitter, then suddenly there was an emergency conference call and oh hey, an email giving fans all of THREE DAYS to reply (assuming they all have email to begin with...which, with our fan base, isn't necessarily a given). The administration dropped the ball here, whether accidentally or intentionally, and it's yet ANOTHER example of a lack of support for this program. If we're going to have high-performing expectations of the basketball program (as we should) that should include the WHOLE program -- players, coaches, staff, and administration, and yet again, one of those entities slides right on by until a fan with a following calls it out on social media. Why will this administration not take this program seriously and at least demonstrate the very very basic step of preparing for the possibility of the postseason? Why do they not even show this extremely passive but generally expected motion of support? Instead it sends the message that even the athletic department doesn't believe in this team and that's a really crappy place to be.
