Asking for a friend: Can we hold off with the 2024-2025 lineups for a week or so until everything settles out?

I'm taking a wait and see stance.  Let's see how this roster looks after free agency.  Got a feeling we'll be fine.

I’d say few. Successful season tend to bring people back. I could always be wrong tho.

Last year at this time we played Maryland and we were 10-12 and this year, 15-6.

Keep winning at home. Learn and grow to win on the road.

Feel pretty good about this prediction: Five guys will start for Nebraska.

I will say that we’re still in 1 bracket on BM and we were in a ton of first four, next four, and others considered on Bracket Matrix.  I went through them all yesterday.  There’s a chance.  Very small, very slim.  We would have to be that “one team” no one thinks.

Agree that NCAAs are always ultimate goal.

And some years, a successful NIT run can help a team/program going forward. Spit balling, but maybe if the '13-14 team had gone on an NIT run instead of losing to Baylor in the NCAAs,  maybe the '14-15 season is different. I doubt it, but maybe.

Regardless, if that was an NIT team, even one that made it to New York, we wouldn't have had No Sit Sunday, the win at Top 10 MSU, the excitement of seeing NU's name pop up on Selection Sunday, etc. I'd take those events/memories over a couple of NIT wins any day., even with a first-round NCAA loss

Does anyone remember NU's last NIT win? Off the top of my head, I don't. I had to look it up. But I can remember every NU NCAA game the past 35 years ... even the one against W Kentucky where it wasn't televised locally. (Granted, there aren't that many NCAA games to remember.)

Even when thinking back to winning the NIT in '96, my first thought isn't how much fun that run was - it's how that team squandered its real chance, as it could've been a Sweet 16 NCAA team. I appreciate the NIT title, but it's more about what could have been with that team.

So I'm always taking an NCAA bid over an NIT run. Just how I look at it.

EDIT - I may have misread your post the first time, so I'll clarify - agree that NCAA is always the ultimate goal. But if in the end you don't make the NCAA, you nearly always take the NIT bid - it's not the goal, but it's better than sitting at home. This year, though, I think we might turn down an NIT bid, as it does nothing for the program in its current position.

This basketball season is lost.  No ifs, and, or buts about it.  But this is one of those days for me that puts life into context, and in a good way.

My wife and I have been foster parents to a joyful little boy for the last 678 days.  We've been in and out of the hospital with him with a variety of issues, among them two cranial reconstruction surgeries.  It's been a long, long journey, but in a few short hours he will be ADOPTED.  He is my son.  He is home forever, and we are eternally grateful.

So even though we're mired in the middle of the most Nebrasketball-ish Nebrasketball season ever, all is not lost in my home today.  All is found.

The bandwagoners are getting off. The media is turning against the team.  The expectations for this team have disappeared.

Part of me wants to say "now when they least expect it, it's time to go on a run!"

Another part of me is nostalgic knowing that only the diehard fans remain.  Soon the threads dissecting how it's still possible get the 6th seed in the conference tourney.

Either way, this is Nebrasketball.  To all the tortured souls who have been on this 2 decade journey with me I salute you!

If..When?...Miles gets fired. Someone that has a track record of winning in a big conference is needed. No more expecting someone whose never done it before, to somehow figure it out on the fly at Nebraska. Miles won 45% of his total games, and 36% of his conf games at CSU. He made 1 NCAA tournament and didn't win a game.

Need to look at guys like Matta or Hoiberg. There will be more guys like that when the season is over. Look at Rick Barnes at Tennessee, good history at Texas, his time got stale, change of scenery, Tennessee now #1 in the country.

Well when you put it like that... I may just go ahead and but my tickets to Minny now for April.  Are we not the best starting 5 in the conference top to bottom?

If Alabama loses today they are out.  That would mean we are in over every team listed in Next Four Out, First Four Out and First Four In.

Just for the record as @hskr4life pointed out yesterday.  There has never been a 15 loss team in the tournament, and only six 14 loss teams sonce the beginning.  Sitting ahead of us according to Lunardi is one 15 loss team, and five 14 loss teams.
