I will say that we’re still in 1 bracket on BM and we were in a ton of first four, next four, and others considered on Bracket Matrix. I went through them all yesterday. There’s a chance. Very small, very slim. We would have to be that “one team” no one thinks.
“So you’re telling me there’s a chance...YEAH! I hear ya!”

Exactly - it's NCAA or bust. This large senior class might even turn down an NIT bid ... and even if they didn't, we'd almost certainly have an interim coach during any NIT games.
Some years, an NIT run can be beneficial. With the program in its current state, though, the NIT does nothing for us.
Shouldn’t the NCAA’s always be the ultimate goal regardless? I would always trade a NIT win for a chance to lose a game in the dance. Maybe I’m looking at this wrong!

What a great story. In life, these are the things that truly matter. Not shooting percentages or rebounding margins, but stuff like this. I wish you and your family all the best for the future!

So tough to watch........

Please let this rumor be true. Dayton Ohio is just a hop, skip and a jump from Lincoln. Like a trailer park during a tornado, I’m going to be there!

It looks like we might lose our Nebraska support system soon...
There is this. So, at least we got this going for us!

It's too bad "last x-games" isn't on the stat sheets anymore this year. Here they are:
Last 10 Games
1. Middle Tennessee: 8-2
1. Nebraska: 8-23. Baylor: 6-4
3. Marquette: 6-4
3. Notre Dame: 6-4
3. Penn State: 6-4
3. UCLA: 6-4
8. Oklahoma State: 5-5
8. Syracuse: 5-5
10. Alabama: 4-6
10. Arizona State: 4-6
10. Louisville: 4-6
10. Texas: 4-6
14. Oklahoma: 2-8Last 15 Games
1. Middle Tennessee: 12-3
2. Nebraska: 11-43. Penn State: 8-7
3. Syracuse: 8-7
3. UCLA: 8-76. Alabama: 7-8
6. Arizona State: 7-8
6. Baylor: 7-8
6. Marquette: 7-8
6. Notre Dame: 7-8
6. Oklahoma State: 7-8
12. Texas: 7-8
13. Louisville: 6-9
14. Oklahoma: 4-11Wow, the spooners have been absolutely horrendous the last 2 months. How can you possibly reward a team with a tourney birth that finishes their season the way they have? No way they should be in, but they probably will be!

Lunardi can't put any team in; he's not on the committee.
^^^this^^^.....and 1 for a chance at a 4 point play, as you were fouled in the act of shooting, behind the arc......AND MADE IT!

It's a bunch of the usual suspects on another message board that won't let it go. There's nothing to it.
You mean there is another message board for Husker athletics, other than this one? Huh, who knew.....this is the only one that I frequent! ?

This post is wanting more for this program! The goal is NCAA tourney period! Going to the NIT or staying home is about the same now days.
I wouldn't say that necessarily. Think of the extra practice/team building time. You have to consider TV and media exposure as most of the games are usually pick up by ESPN or other networks that don't have exclusive rights to the NCAA'S.

it's so difficult to be a Husker basketball fan!

It would be just our luck, though, right? Iowa wins this, we beat Iowa, but get no ratings bump, play in the semis and lose a tight one to MSU, and we hear: "They haven't beaten anybody, and that Michigan victory now isn't worth anything."
This is what I am afraid of happening!

At this point I see no way Texas, Syracuse, Providence, Oklahoma, Mississippi St., Alabama, UCLA, and Marquette can be taken ahead of us. These Bracketotologist's can spin it any way they want too, but the teams I just listed are losing the ball games that they "needed" to win. We won the ball games we "needed" to win. That is the difference! If we beat Michigan we should be in and seeded ahead of any of the teams listed above.
Other teams
- Arizona St. = SOR is 55, IMO they should be in, but not ahead of Nebraska
- USC = SOR is 56, IMO they should be in, but not ahead of Nebraska
- Utah = Out BPI is 80, As much as Lunardi and Palm keep putting them ahead of us they are not even a threat right now
- Washington = Out BPI is 108, As much as Lunardi and Palm keep putting them ahead of us they also are not even a threat right now
- Missouri = Should be in around the same seed as Nebraska
- Baylor = Play in Game if they beat Kansas State, Out if they lose
- Kansas State = 11 Seed bye if they beat Baylor, Play in game if they lose
- Texas A&M = Should be in with a similar seed to us
- Georgia = Out... No chance without winning the tournament
- LSU = Out... No chance without winning the tournament
- Boise State = Needs to win their tournament to get in IMO
- St. Bonaventure = They should be in, but seeing how the committee left out St. Mary's in 2016 with a 27-5 record, a BPI of 39, a RPI of 40 and SOR of 39 I don't see them getting in.
So with that list
Should be inMissouri
Kansas State
Texas A&M
Arizona State
USC
Might be in
St. Bonaventure
Boise State
Baylor
Oklahoma
Providence
Mississippi State
Should be out
Texas
Syracuse
Alabama
Marquette
UCLA
Out
LSU
Georgia
Utah
Washington
Oklahoma still being projected to make it just blows my mind. I get they have some Tier 1 wins, but the eye test has not been kind to them lately. They have looked atrocious the last 3 weeks!

From Eric Bossi, today, at Rivals:
Finally there is Nebraska. I get it, the Huskers don't have very many impressive wins on their schedule. But, they did go 13-5 in the Big Ten and won 22 games. In my mind that should make them a lock for the NCAA Tournament over some of these teams I see projected to make the field with losing conference records. How far do Tim Miles and the Huskers have to make it to lock up a bid? Would the committee really leave out a team with that kind of record in a major conference?
Apparently, this guy thinks we need 2 wins (preferably Mich and Mich St) to even have a realistic chance. So disheartening. We may need to make the championship game to get in, hope I'm wrong!

Um it is being discussed right here in this thread.
Besides Watkins? I must have missed it, my apologies!

A friend told me he thought there was another injury for PSU during the Michigan game this week. I didn't watch it so I have no idea! Did anyone else see or hear anything?
-
So 2-1 down the stretch=72% chance of dancing. This is way better than what we have been hearing. Some say we need to win out and make an appearance in the BIG 10 championship game. UGH!!!!
-
I just did it as well. I like it. I wish I could do it all over again for the first time!

Done. I can't quite crop it the way I would like, but its got the great old school vibe! Thank you 49er!

For home games, I park in the same spot in the blue garage. The 1 time I didn't get my parking spot (because it was already taken) was the Kansas game. There is something to be said for that. I always use the same restroom at halftime and pee in the same urinal. Its possible that I didn't get my usual urinal when we hosted the Jayhawks as well!

Agreed. Let’s just call it speculation at this point!
