  1. Doyle verballed to Iowa earlier today.......................
  2. Stephanie White signed on for the Vandy Job.
  3. Banghart and Ivey have pulled their names out of consideration.................
  4. Cal Berkeley coach turned the job down. Next up is Courtney Banghart of Princeton. No way they pass her over for a coach with no head coaching experience. If Banghart turns it down then it goes to Ivey.
  5. It seems like the dates will have a lot to do with the start of summer school......... Anybody know what position Jenkins plays?
  6. Doyle is still considering Iowa, Indiana, Nebraska and Vanderbilt. I think the Iowa coach was simply being politically correct. What she said was she has two and would be ok keeping to free but if Doyle wants to come to Iowa, one of those ships is gone. Iowa has a scholarship for Doyle but will stand pat if they do not get her. Iowa loves Doyle. Indiana is looking at a 5th year and the kid who pulled her NLI from Kentucky so Indiana might not even be in the mix in a few days depending on what they do. Nebraska has made it clear they want Doyle and what they have going for them is the fact that Coach Williams was recruiting one of Doyle's travel team teammates last season. That player is 2017 Kia Brooks. Because of this Williams/Love knew Kathleen's game very well and they feel that Doyle is a great fit for their system. Vanderbilt offered a scholarship but it depends on who get's that job...... So today all 4 are still there and I think in time one or two could eliminate themselves.
  7. Kathleen Doyle threw a strike on her pitch!
  8. At some point soon I think Doyle will pick between Iowa, Indiana or Nebraska...............
  9. I really do not think people are taking into account how it feels to be an incoming freshman and find out the coach you planned to go and play for is not going to be at the school anymore. While you should pick a school because you could see yourself there as a student, I think that based on Doyle's options before deciding on Nebraska there were many schools that she could see herself at. And if it comes to Big 10 schools which in some cases are very close in perceived experience the coaching staff will play a huge part in how things play out. Initially Doyle had thoughts of going to an Ivy League schools but over time the opportunity to play big time basketball at a quality academic school started to impact the decision. Two schools of note that Doyle was interested in included Stanford and Vanderbilt. This time around believe it or not almost every school that recruited Doyle the first go around still had a scholarship for her and a lot of it had to do with how she treated everyone through the process. Yori's resignation has opened the floodgates of opportunity with close to 25 schools wanting an opportunity to recruit Doyle again. As a player and family you have to work on a timeline that feels best for said family. This is huge decision and if more players took their time to decide you would find fewer transfers. Whoever get's Doyle will be getting a player who will be there for the long haul...................
  10. Many of the schools recruiting Doyle including Iowa, Indiana and Nebraska have many of the same appealing virtues. I do not think it makes sense for a player as good as Doyle to just stay without getting a chance to make sure the new coaching staff appreciates her style and has a need for her. Doyle is too good to be in a situation where she will not get a shot if the her game does not fit the coaching style and Vanderbilt originally recruited Doyle but went in another direction. They came back this time and the draw of the academic reputation is significant.
  11. For incoming freshmen it has to be a tough situation. All of these recruits have multiple offers at good schools so they will have choices. It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
  12. Dan Olson who ranks for ESPN has not been in the same gym with Doyle for at least two years.
  13. Ms. Basketball of Illinois 2016: Benet's Kathleen Doyle was born for this http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/highschool/ct-spt-0325-prep-gbk-ms-basketball-20160324-story.html
  14. If you all really knew the parents involved...............
