  1. Lawrence was playing very well early on then got replaced by Hoiberg who was horrible most of the game. Should let him keep playing when he was going well. If we are going to get where we want it will include Lawrence. Hoiberg brought nothing until a couple threes in overtime to give us a punchers chance.
  2. Going to quit scrolling back after three pages. There are so many idiotic takes I can’t do it anymore. Awful loss and Gary is the cherry on top(win if he didn’t go down).
  3. Message board overreactions both ways wear me out. That being said, teams are getting into the teeth of our defense far too comfortably on the road in the league so far. Just because we have some pretty good help concepts a lot, does not mean we don’t have to take giving resistance very seriously staying in front of our guy.
  4. The three by Allick was critical. Then next time down he could have fired again but knew we could do better, leading to a Wilcher triple. Hell of a sequence by him! And how about Wilcher. His shot looks better to me than at any time here. It just looks like it should go in,
  5. At least this year we might be deep enough to get away with this nonsense.
  6. just glad to survive this, I really thought we wewre going to lose very early in 2nd half.
  7. That result should be beneficial down the road since we play NW twice and Purdue once.
  8. That would be hard to match, listening to him on the Scarlet Shootaround Pod.
  9. Great last episode on the Scarlet Shootaround previewing Creighton, reviewing last two games and they had Sam Griesel on as their first guest. It is a tremendous pod. They know what they are talking about.
  10. it is a great point but nobody in our leauge is in a very likely to win category in our building.
  11. he is missing horribly on so many shots. Airballs, bricks off the side of the glass etc. It tells me his made percentage is fluky high. Needs to be wide open in perfect shooting stance for it to be a reasonable shot IMO.
  12. For the love of God why are you rooting for big ten teams to drop below us right now for any reason other than us moving up?
  13. It isn't really a good thing to be movinh up because they are losing.
  14. Yeah, I am fine with Keisei taking about whatever he thinks. I am speaking to everyone else.
  15. For me, I don’t care what the ratio is at should change game to game based on what the defense is giving you. What needs to change is somewhat challenged treys early in the shot clock. We need to hunt easy layups or wide open threes the first 18-19 seconds. We can typically get a partial contested trey in the last ten seconds if we need to. We are going to be mediocre at best if we don’t figure this out soon.
  16. This is a far more accurate post than your prior one. At the very least, that list significantly downplayed the importance of margin of victory. running up score at the end to win by 16 instead of 4 matters a lot.
  17. The perception doesn't matter as much as the data that goes into it IMO.
  18. Big 10 has to get their shit together right now. After you get into league play, the results are what the results are and the league is as good as the early seaoson results are. The computers don't understand that we have the best conference of coaches in the land and teams get better throughout the season. They assume all teams get better at the same rate. These early season struggles are REALLY bad for us who need this to be an 8 bid type of league.
  19. Margin of victory matters a lot. Chuck is simply incorrect suggesting that it does not make any difference.
  20. Good or great passing teams can certainly beat it with quick passes around the horn, especially resulting in tough to get to the corner. Illinois game at home last year comes to mind. They really had the ball popping and your rotations just cannot get there when that happens. All in all though, I love the scheme. We don't give up very many easy paint points, which I am very fond of, especially since the time they moved the 3 point line back a good bit.
  21. While I agree with what you are saying, I think the benefit of always doing it is that everyone is on the same page. If we try to choose when to or not, they won't always be. So that is some of the trade off I suppose.
  22. He will probabky remain on NIT selection committee to kick us in the nuts when we get fourth in big ten and go on road in NIT.
