No, seriously. Who was it? It wasn’t me. I like the kid and I thought he would play. But I think it was @Nebrasketballer who called for him to start. I could be wrong.

He was very good in last Friday's scrimmage. He was second leading scorer behind Quaran. White just  barely beat the Red. The teams weren't evenly split either. Red had most people's projected top 8. This is a very deep team. Can't wait for tomorrow night.

Perhaps this just proves your point, but if it wasn't for Bounds,  Eichorst doesn't get fired when he does (trust me, Green wasn't gonna do it).  So yeah, Bounds has the chops, if it was indicated; he's done it.   But the reason that isn't necessary here is because  this AD will make the hire.  In the other 2 instances there was no way the current AD was going to get to make the hire.   Moos is gonna make the hire, that's what the vote of confidence was about a few weeks ago.

I wouldn't be so sure of that. Just because he got a vote of confidence publicly doesn't mean he will be allowed to make that decision.  Bounds will be making that decision.

We’ll see, but I’m not going to be convinced until it happens.  Pigs can fly and dreamers can dream I suppose.

Who is to say Moos will even be allowed to make that decision.  It might be taken out of his hands at that time IF he is still here.

  4. From a reliable source there is a chance that Marc Boehm will be retiring, as early as today. Not sure if this would be a forced or voluntary retirement.

Before people begin bashing Marc I would like to point out his accomplishments:
    1. Instrumental in our transition to the PBA.
    2. Worked on the administration side for our move to the BIG.
    3. Worked to get the NCAA tournament 1st round to Lincoln.
    4. Oversees a lot of fundraising efforts. This is where his loss would have the greatest impact.

I mentioned this a few weeks ago.

Hopefully it helps that part of the decision related to attending the KU game.  Although still pretty dumb.  But the recipients of the tickets think we're pretty swell folks.

I was at the KU game too. It's too bad I didn't run into you. I needed someone to commiserate with.

  6. reminding me a little of ed last year. ed came in and put on all that muscle and was injured most of the year. same thing might be happening with roby. hopefully i'm wrong and roby will be fine.

I think the difference between him and ed is that isaiah needs the extra muscle not so sure ed did lol.

Ed had never lifted a weight before stepping foot on campus. All the muscle he has came after high school. Dude's just a physical freak like that.

All my weight came after high school too. I don't think I did it the same that Ed did though....

    12 oz curls? Or 40?

Well you should start off with 12 oz curls first before you move up to 16 oz and 24 oz and maybe 40 oz if you're feeling good.

    #curlsforthegirls

This reminds me of one of my favorite movie lines of all time.

What are you curling these days.... besides your hair?

  7. My understanding of the situation was that Bruce Sr. was the one to initially bring up the extra year of prep school due to Arop only being in his "junior " development wise due to his injury. The NU staff must have thought this was a good idea and proposed moving his scholarship to 2018. Obviously Arop and his family didn't have the same appreciation for the plan and decided to walk. Now Bruce Sr. is out going to bat for his.player in the media. Which I think he should but it certainly could have been handled better especially if it was his idea originally. The NU staff is handcuffed in this situation and can't really respond publicly. So everyone runs with what they hear from Bruce Sr. and the narrative gets carried away and passed on as absolute truth. I have a feeling the truth lies somewhere closer to the middle.

I believe Bruce Sr. Might have mentioned it to the NU staff and they thought it over and proposed it to Arop. Arop is upset and his coach backs him up in public. Backlash ensues. Message boards run wild with speculation and now NU and it's staff are the most hated people in Omaha according to a couple of posters. The end.

  8. Mr. Haymarket, sir, it was dark, my eyes aren't so good as they used to be, but did I pass you walking arm-in-arm with a young lady (by young, I mean younger than me) walking by Leadbelly's at about 10:30 last night? If it wasn't you, it was someone who looked a lot like you and I wasn't confident enough in the darkness to say anything. So ...

That would have been me. You should have said hello.
  9. Speaking of Eichorst - how many noticed him sitting behind the bench during the women's games later in the season? Oftentimes with Mike Riley. Personally, I wouldn't want my boss sitting over my shoulder as I'm trying to work. Given what I had heard that he wasn't necessarily the most visible AD, I should have seen it as a red flag.

So the guy is never visible or out showing support for our teams but when he does he is sitting over their shoulder? The guy can't win. And for every negative story you guys have heard 3rd hand about Eichorst and the AD I've heard at least 5 positive ones. Those who are negative are the loudest are always the most outspoken. When things are going well you hardly hear a peep. Our fans never cease to disappoint me.

Well, Haymarket, it's equally disappointing to me that most fans can only approach Eichorst through a Pelini lens. If they didn't like Pelini and wanted him gone, Eichorst can do no wrong. If they were loyal Bo backers to the end, Eichorst can do no right. I have met the man several times and have seen him in action. I know many people in the athletic department and have some insight into the culture there and how things are run, and certain things that have happened. I wish people could understand that there is a lot more to it than whether and how he fired Bo. I have yet to find a Pelini hater acknowledge that Eichorst has ever made a mistake in his life. Now, let's carry this discussion further in a Haymarket drinking establishment.

Sounds like a plan. I will however state that I didn't mention Pellllini once and haven't for ove six months. I should be congratulated for that. Pick a place where the tables are bolted down because as you know we are both "passionate" types. :)

Also one more little thing that is being over looked. That little Board of Regents meeting from a few weeks ago that Eichorst was invited to was not in regards to his job, most if it was in regards to the pending legal action against the University in regards to women's basketball. It is way bigger than a few thin skinned basketball players.

  11. Of course the condescending 3 claps appear to be less rude to them. I disagree. It shouldn't surprise me though. It is very disappointing. I look at it in a more positive light versus being rude. We are showing our team that we are there and we have their backs and do what we can to help them win. I just don't see what the big deal is. Our fans never cease to amaze me. Condescending claps are Nebraska Nice apparently. No one will convince me they aren't condescending either, otherwise we would just clap normal for them if we were doing it for good sportsmanship.

  12. Was Barr our last mid season transfer that we got? He stayed a whole semester. Here's hoping for better luck next time.

Barr had some serious mental issues. Coach Mathews told me they basically kicked him off the team after the first week because he trying to hurt our players in practice. After he went after Maric in practice one day that was the last straw. I believe the quote that coach gave me was Barr said "There is Going to be Blood!" after he fouled Maric really hard in practice. Evidently he was a little unstable.
  13. Plus being a Sunday afternoon game during the Christmas season. Plus my own experience at the Miami game does not induce me to return soon when the game is on tv. We got parked in the Haymarket 1 1/2 hour before gametime that night and our party of three were told the wait time was 45 minutes for food at mello mushroom and gate 23 and Lancasters were too crowded to think we would have any food ready in time to get to seats. So we wolfed down a Jimmy John's and got there in time. At half my Spanish guest waited long enough for popcorn at upper deck stand that the second half was three minutes old before he got back. We were worried he was lost. He said line was not that long but the elderly lady at the stand was very slooow. We enjoyed the game a lot, but it does not make me want to snatch one of these cheap tickets for myself. It was my fault since we should have gotten there 2 1/2 or 3 hours early if we had wanted to eat leisurely in haymarket area. Excuse the early morning bitching, the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

I would suggest in the future that you venture a few blocks south and east of the arena. You can walk right in to most paces and sit if you are 1 1/2 hours early. And most of them are much better than what is in the Railyard or across the street from the arena.
