  1. A Big East invitation should be coming soon.
  2. How is Arledge's back injury coming along? I agree and I also like this part of his bio: "2012-13: Played in every game, with 22 starts … Finished second on the team scoring 9.0 points per game and 21 blocks … Also pulled down 181 rebounds (4.8 rpg), 30 assists and 19 steals … Ranked fifth in the CAA in free throw percentage (81.4 percent)"
  3. That's the guy. Here's the Wordpress blog site set up to save him. He's a great person, and was a big part of the drone journalism lab at UNL's journalism college. Who's the writer/professor? Scott Winter, a UNL journalism professor. Isn't he the one not receiving tenure or something like that? I saw a bunch of english/journalist majors posting something about him.
  4. Pretty sure you meant to write that Colorado lost to Pitt by 29. Sucks to be either CU.
  5. Who's the writer/professor?
  6. I agree with jimmykc. Next year, there should be no rancor, angst or trepidation. Rancor Angst Trepidation
  7. How it went down: Hunter alerts Miles that shot clock isn't running. Miles races to midcourt to point out the mistake, gesticulating. Hess turns, immediately slaps a T on Miles and ejects him. How it could have gone down: Hunter alerts Miles that shot clock isn't running. Miles races to midcourt to point out the mistake, gesticulating. Hess turns and walks toward Miles. Hess: "Tim, you're out of the box, I'm going to give you a T." Miles: "The shot clock isn't working. You should have noticed that." Hess: "Really?" Turns to the shot-clock operator. "Is that true?" Shot-clock operator: "Yep. I made a mistake. Forgot to turn it on." Hess: "Thanks, Tim." Hess then gathers his colleagues at the scorer's table and convenes a conference about what to do. I can't stand the "Well, I called a T, and we can't go back and correct a bad decision" bullshiff.
  8. Not just the size in the post, but the experience. Austin is a second-year sophomore, true, but Jefferson is a fifth-year senior who redshirted his second year. Plus, Austin was an injury away from leaving for the NBA after last year. Oh, for a little Ubel today (and all year, really). At least we'd have had five more fouls to give.
  9. All I can say is: "Poor Luke. What were his parents thinking?" Well...that doesn't make up for the numerous other missed calls.
  10. And then there's that whole "well, Baylor and especially Austin aren't good from the line, so even if they do shoot a lot of FTs, they won't make than many" thing. Oy. 80 percent today, both Austin and the Bears.
  11. Which leads me to wonder if we're not really missing a big guy in the middle as much as we are one or two serious sharpshooters. If we can draw out the defense to defend the 3, Shields and Petteway can slash through the lane at will. Of course, it would be great to have an I. Austin or C. Jefferson at the rim on defense. We carved up their zone except for making shots in the first half.
  12. Here's the OWH account on what happened on the final technical.
  13. It's a "faux" Karl Hess account. I might have to join twitter just to bust his chops.

  15. FG%: NU 42.6, BU 40.5 3pt%: NU 19.0, BU 15.4 baylor shot just as bad if not worse. the sole difference in the game was the whistles.
  16. I have to disagree. They are an upper seed in the NCAA tournament. They are one of the top thirty-two teams in the country. One of the top ten percent teams in the country. They are good, but for the fouls and terrible start, we can play with them. That tells me that our foundation is built. We need to build consistancey and bring in a couple more players...we are right there.Well you know more about them than I do but they sure didn't look that good today. But it was an ugly game controlled by the refs. I hope your right though because I will be rooting for them Sunday. IF the rajin' Cajuns fail today. I've seen them only today, so here's what I can surmise: they're really tall, and they're awesome free throw shooters.
  17. With 27 seconds left, it was too early. He would have fouled out.
  18. Great news, guys!! I just heard we held Austin to 2 field goals, Heslip to 0 for 6 from the arc and our two scorers, Petteway and Shields had 18 and 16 each, while Ray awoke and dropped 15 on Baylor!!! By how much did we win????!!!!???
  19. Cripes. Miss a free throw for once.
  20. This Craig Smith can coach, eh?
  21. Their athleticism was a bad matchup for us anyway. Add in that we were as tight as a drum in the first half, a closely called game that put Baylor on the line so often, and we didn't stand a chance.
  22. 22 made free throws to 5. We're down by 14.
  23. And what was Baylor's season FT%. Gotta fight through the stuff.
