He is— that option will always be there though. He could totally flop this next year and he’ll still have that option. However, if he is even remotely close to what he did at the end of this year over a full season, he’ll get a few looks. NBA is the dream. Playing in Japan will always be there.3 points -

I won't pretend to be an expert on Wake's depth chart, but your analysis of our own depth seems exceptionally optimistic. I don't see a lot of road blocks to Sallis locking down the starting PG spot. -Lawrence has proven to be an adequate rotation piece; maybe he is ready to jump up to starter's minutes, or maybe not. But I highly doubt he is making the giant leap up to something like 32-36 minutes per game. -Williams will likely be a starter, but he also has shown that he is comfortable being a Manu Ginobili off the bench. So there's potentially an extra open starting spot. -KT is a lock to start in our backcourt, but he isn't vying for minutes at point. -Lloyd has played zero college minutes. As much as I think he has potential to be a star, a kid who was in Gonzaga's rotation should not be worried about a redshirt from Nebraska stealing his minutes. -Wilcher? He was close to falling out of the rotation altogether towards the end of the season.2 points -

He can go make $500k+ in Japan right now, but he wants to play in the NBA. His best chance to get a shot at that is to put together a full college basketball season playing at the same level he did the last 1/3 of last season.2 points -

ohhh ok ok, i was under the assumption that sallis would play a lot of pg and then you can have lineups like this sallis keisei brice juwan mast then lawrence can come in and really play any of the spots 1-31 point -

I think (assuming Sallis is N), it would be: Sallis Lawrence Keisei Gary Mast You could make an argument for Lawrence being the sixth man and Brice starting to have plus size on the perimeter, but it's hard for me to assume that. Nothing against him at all honestly, I think he'll be great. Fwiw, he was willing to come off the bench at Charlotte, so I don't think it would be out of the question. I do think if Sallis is aboard he'd be the starting PG though with keisei opposite. Having options is never a bad thing either. Sent from my motorola edge 5G UW (2021) using Tapatalk1 point -

I personally think williams game will translate pretty well/easily to a high major conference. He does need to get better on the defensive end tho, his fram and athleticism is way too good not to be a plus defender. Who else would start at the three the first game?1 point -

I see your thought process. But WF guards (Hildreth, Monsanto, and Kevin Miller) all are double figures a game guy, with only Miller being a move up guy from Central Michigan. Hildreth, if everything goes like it should, is going to get the lions share of the touches and could be an NBA guy this time next year. Monsanto is one of the better 3 point shooters in the ACC with putting up 40% from there on 8 3s a game. He did have a knee injury so maybe they're being precautionary with that? Miller put up good numbers at CMU and from the looks of it should be their starting PG. I'm not thinking he'd push one out, I just think he'd be a sixth man for them. Compared to the guards here, it's different. Love Lawrence, but he's 40% from the stripe right now. That's going to cut some of his minutes regardless of how he plays. Keisei by all accounts will put up numbers again. Brice Williams I like, but there's a massive adjustment to big ten play from Charlotte. Don't be shocked if he comes off the bench to start. There's really no PG on the roster I trust, and from the looks of it, that's where they're recruiting him. That's more or less what I was getting at. 2023-24 CONFERENCE OPPONENTS NEBRASKA Home: Michigan State, Penn State, Purdue Away: Illinois, Iowa, Maryland Home/Away: Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Rutgers, Wisconsin My thoughts - love getting MSU and Purdue, probably preseason top 2, both once and at home. Double plays look very reasonable as well1 point -

Do you? I am not sure that is even true. They charge money to get into the games. Most coaches I know do a TON of fundraising. It's a major catalyst source of donation (specific to football AND general ed). And would kids or all types be flocking to go to "Westside/Bellevue West/Gretna" of the worlds if they didn't have phenomenal extracurricular activities? A high quality football team at a school is rarely a one-off - it's typically a sign of a very healthy activities and academic culture.1 point -

The first comment says (according to Google Translate): “I think he has a lot of potential, but if he stays at the university, he should be thoroughly marked from the beginning of the next term. Under such circumstances, if he can stably perform as close to the end of the season as possible, he will be evaluated as an unquestionable ability, and we can expect more success in the NBA. For now, you should become the number one college player in the United States. It's not too late for the NBA.”1 point

No matter where Sallis decides to go next, I do not believe Hoiberg wasted his time on pursuing Hunter. If Nebraska ('we') decided to not go after high-level talent, then we would be definitely wasting our time!1 point -

Doubtful transferring is likely. Thus the two outcomes are Keisei turning pro or Keisei coming back to Nebraska. Seems like Jaz Shelly showed how it's possible for an international student to receive NIL and that the clearest path to the NBA is by playing here in the states. Assume he will declare for the draft with the ability to return to school and we'll be waiting a while on his decision. Been hearing favorable things about him returning to Nebraska here in the last 30 seconds1 point
