To stink it up so badly that he gets canned before his buyout drops?

New "official" heights and weights have been posted! Some interesting measurables to note. As reported, CJ cut 10+ pounds. Ramel is a big guard. I thought he looked bigger than the 180 lbs he was listed at before. Now 6'6" 204. Griesel is 6'7" 216. Keita 6'11" 241. Derrick wore his tall shoes again for measurement day. The physical makeup of this roster is so much different than what Hoiberg has had in the past. If you walk past the film room and see CJ, Gary, Griesel, Ramel, Derrick in there, you might think it's a group of tight ends or 3-4 OLBs. And I'm ok with it. I believe these guys also have a mental toughness and level of maturity that Hoiberg hasn't had yet at Nebraska. No idea if they have enough talent/ability to translate that toughness into more wins. But I do know that I'll enjoy watching them more than the previous three teams. https://huskers.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster

I will say— one thing I keep seeing is people posting/tweeting they’re “happy”. That’s one thing I’m not. As much as it needed to happen, it’s not a happy time. I’ll say the same thing I did when Miles was fired (and every coach). It’s not a happy time. These are still people. Lives are effected. Clouds of uncertainty now hover over the rest of the staff, players, families. It needed to happen. I’m not happy about it.

  8. Frost is a year ahead of Hoiberg. We're also in transition mode for a higher revenue sport. So Hoiberg likely has another year regardless of the results on the court.

I’m mildly shocked but also not shocked. As much as it felt like it had to happen— the buyout threw a wrench into things.

I’d guess closer to $8 mil, I agree. A lot of fans go to the notion that nobody will come here. Of course someone will. There are a lot of pros to coming here (money, tradition, brand, blah blah). People were concerned hiring a coach after canning a 9 win guy. Well, that problem is solved in spades. Our problem isn’t people won’t come here. It’s that we have a bad picker. Just like me dating. I know what I want in my head, but I always end up with a mess and have to cut bait and move on. i never thought it would get to this point, but Frost is pretty much John Blake. The talent doesn’t appear to be near as bad as the putrid performance of the team. Get a good coach in and we can get things turned pretty quick. Hopefully Trev has a good picker. We’ll see.

Sun Belt East: James Madison: prominent FCS powerhouse Marshall: Defeated #8 Notre Dame on the road Coastal Carolina: Was ranked last season Georgia Southern: Put 28 pts on Nebraska in 2 quarters Old Dominion: Defeated Virginia Tech in Week 1 App State: Defeated #6 Texas A&M on the road Georgia State: came within one score to North Carolina The fact we're at the point of pulling these stats: Sad.

  16. i was trying to match them up where I felt it could go either way and different people would have different projections. It wouldn’t be much of of a discussion if it was Griesel vs Oleg. But I also realize some may feel completely different and they aren’t equally matched. We could just rank the players 1 to 10 in projected impact, just seemed like this might be a different twist on it. That is all. And to be clear, I am certainly not trying to denigrate any players, just projecting impact for this coming season.

  17. Uninformed bias is rarely helpful. Nebraska has excellent academics—across all institutions within the system—with some portions at the very highest levels of all academia.
