  1. ‘Still seems ridiculous to call kids scrubs who have chosen to come and bust their ass for our team. Especially since you must have not seen them play. A few of them have already proven themselves as quality players at other schools. No need for cheap shots just because you are unhappy

  3. There's a part of me that thinks our shooters would have better looks if we had a guy inside who was offensively efficient enough to draw double teams. It seems like when we're racing our arses off to close out on shooters because we had to double the opposing post, that's when we get drilled for those long 3-bombs. If Keita can be that kind of offensive force inside, I think our shooters will stand a chance to light it up from outside. I think we have a couple of guys who can do it. Not nearly enough and not nearly well enough, but a couple of guys. Enough to keep us in some games. In order to get out of the cellar and into the conference top ten, having a guy who can force our opponents to double him would really help. In my humble opinion.

  4. Why, the old rule was a step and before the next step the ball must be released. Elgin Baylor would have thrived with the extra step allowed today. To me it’s a mockery of the rules.

    What will it take?

Pretty strange to say but after losing an NBA 2nd round pick, I think we will be much improved next year and a much more enjoyable team to watch. We might start out a little rough but don't sleep on Nebraska next year.

  8. I'm similar to this, but I have ... 1. Griesel -- veteran, steady leadership in a guy who will probably have the ball in his hands a lot. 2. Keita -- we need him to be the player we think we are getting, ie, someone who can score efficiently down low against D and draw double teams. 3. Bandoumel -- maybe Trey 2.0 with a better shooting touch. 4. Gary -- Offensively unrefined, but high end motor. 5. Lloyd -- completely agree, appears to have highest ceiling on the team. Hope his body holds out/holds up.

  9. 1. Gary 2. Bandoumel 3. Lloyd 4. Griesel 5. Lawrence I went with experience. I have no clue but hope they play hard, act like they care about being a Husker and play together.

    Rank Our Newcomers

    1. Griesel - proven commodity 2. Gary - D and boards guy 3. Emmanuel - Trey 2.0 4. Keita - guaranteed minutes since he's one of only two 5s on our team. Will contribute even if he's not ready, so we better hope he's ready. 5. Lloyd - highest ceiling on the team

We are trending upward. We keep this going and it makes it easier for her to pick Nebraska. Going back to an earlier post is that not a picture of Britt with her younger sister perhaps?

The last four years of Husker fandom has broken me. If they do read this board then my message to them would be "prove me wrong".

  13. T5. Ramel/Denim- hard to decide between these two young guys. I’m very high on Ramel, based on what I’ve seen and read. However, I also like that Denim was able to get here early. He’ll have that jumpstart and that might help him contribute more than a typical freshman. 4. Juwan-16 starts on an NCAA tourney team to me is a big plus here. He was never “the guy” at Alabama, but he knows what it takes. 3. Emmanuel- Interesting late addition and he intrigued me. Once again, can provide a nice vet presence for the new guys. 2. Blaise- How many years have we complained about our lack of a “true post”? We finally have one. 1. Sam- Brings in vet leadership, has “been there” and can be a good springboard to help the new guys heading into their soph years. Also a “Husker” at heart.

  14. The way the rule always read was a step in a half. That's how layups have been shot since the beginning of layups. Right side would be right-left and release before the right foot comes down again. The only difference is the Euro doesn't go in a straight line. And technically, the step count doesn't start until you' ve gathered the ball but that would make a refs head explode.

  17. I see those two as good role players who will score on occasion but not stars. We will need scoring from Bando,Wilcher, Walker, Lloyd and maybe Tominaga. I understand what you are saying but if we can defend and play together, who knows?

Great unknown are the newcomers. Major roles out there for the taking.

  19. Thanks, Whoop for all your eagle-eye input. Seems like the B1G is about to get tougher & tougher; Happily, we also have a pretty good returning roster (maybe one of the best ones ever), plus several talented newcomers. Sure interested to learn what they have to say about this years Huskers.
