    OT HS Football News

To tie it back to Nebraska basketball, I fully expect if and when we do ever get our first NCAA Tournament win, it will later be vacated on a technicality.

She'd make more NIL money at NU. There's a market for the kid here.

And in other news, South Dakota State, led by Aurora native Baylor Scheierman with 17, beat Western Illinois by 18. Yes, that Western Illinois. And Lincoln East grad Sam Griesel hit the winning shot with a second left for North Dakota State’s win; finished with 18.

Good enough to play as a true freshman for #22 Loyola Chicago - not good for Nebrasketball.

    OT: Kalynn Meyer....

I see Meyer threw shot over the weekend. Over 50 feet is an amazing mark for her debut in the indoor college track season. If she could devote more time to the sport, I'd like to see St. Clair coach her in weight/hammer.

Native Nebraska girl round- ballers keep getting better. I have been watching for a looonng time. I once said that Maurtice Ivy was the best Nebraska raised girl BB player ever. Her #1 ranking, in my amateur mind, lasted all the way till I said that about Jordan Hooper. Which lasted until I said that about Jess Shepard. And then most recently Alexis Markowski - whose reign as #1 (in my amateur mind) didn't last any longer than watching Britt Prince in last year's state tourney. I know I left out a lot of players, especially Kissinger, and I know that making such an assessment about a girl at age 14 seems premature. But jeeezzze - how she can be a do-everything player and take over a game against girls two and three years older! Obviously I think she is a "must get - just gotta" for Husker WBB. She has been or will be offered by almost all the name programs. It's reasonable to think it will come down to a tug and pull between playing for a top program/legendary coach/national championship contender vs staying close to home and playing in front of family and friends. What will help is if DONU, in the next two years, can close the gap between being a mid level B1G team and being in the national top ten - thus making it close to a best of both worlds choice for BP. Two nightmare scenarios - IU and Creighton.

IIRC, Miles did it twice. First time, it wasn't public, in year 2, and it worked. Second time, Miles made it public, and it didn't work.

I coached my son's little league baseball team (Trumbull). The coach for that age group wasn't a very friendly guy, I tried to shoot the shit with him before the game. that was a no go, so it was great when we beat thier ass.

    RUTGERS GAME POSTPONED

From the coach on the last call in show she said both Sam and Jaz were day to day and that Bella barring any set backs will be playing more as she has more confidence in her ankle. I took that as she will be coming off the bench with her minutes depending on how her ankle continues to improve. Of course day to day can stretch into a prolonged time. Need to get through this covid protocol ASAP. Indiana's home game against Mich. st. last night was postponed as well as their upcoming game at Iowa this coming Sunday.

@throwback Go listen to the whole hour if you have time, because there's other stuff, too. Lot's of stuff they're not doing. First question was basically do they even care how bad things are going? And Webster basically said, well, yeah, it might not look like it, but as soon as they get over their own personal agendas, things might turn around. Like WTF? But I'm particularly troubled by that last 10 minutes or so. Vershan Jackson gives an illustration of how a conversation between teammates holding each other accountable might go. "I need you to do a better job of boxing out." "Yeah, OK, gotcha." "Because I'm tired of losing." "I got you." And Webster's like, um, that kind of nice back and forth? Yeah, that's not happening with us. And Vershan Jackson mimics players saying like "You're not the boss of me!" And Webster responds, yep, that's pretty much what it is. The culture in this program is deep in the shit. And the head guy, who's getting $3.5 million this year to BE the head guy, needs to pull his head out of his butt and quit tolerating what he's getting. I'm just beside myself here. I ain't that damn old yet, but I ain't getting any younger, and I want to be around when the monkey comes off this program's back. So I'd appreciate a little sense of urgency by the guys who are in charge. I'm just so disgusted RN I don't even know what to say.

    Teddy watch

Yep. I never quite understood all the hate for Teddy when he was here. No question we would be a bit better off record-wise if he had stayed for another year, although we would still not have been very good.

  25. The question, specifically, was who is the player that is holding his teammates accountable. And the answer was nobody. They're not working on the little things and they're not being held accountable for failing to do the little things. And Kobe said he told the coaches that the players can't hold each other accountable if the coaches won't. And it just makes you wonder, if this is the stuff happening on the practice floor, what accountability is there for things away from the practice floor? I listened to this and I was just gobsmacked. It ain't no wonder that ppl like @tcp are saying they don't like this team. Because what you see on the floor on game day is a reflection of who they are being off the floor. There's a place where the buck stops. But it's apparently in Trev Albert's office because it sure doesn't appear to be in Hendricks.
