  2. Thanks for the discussion @huskerfrank. We need more like it for WBB. I'm hoping Bella gets more recognition for her (ample) talents and contributions this season now that she won't be in Kate Cain's shadow. As you mentioned she's a monster defender; I think we were very fortunate to get her as a transfer. I'm thinking we are going to be pleasantly surprised by the incoming recruits this year. It seems last year's team out-performed a lot of our expectations (or we underestimated their abilities) and I'm hoping (expecting ) this year's team does too! I'm only disappointed that we won't get to see Tatiana play this season, but that may bode well for the future.

  3. A few times I've tried to be helpful and corrected some published wrong info put out by media members, and I did it just to get the information right and often it was statistical corrections. Unfortunately it felt like a few of 'em seem to take it too personal. It's a weird phenomena.

  4. Jason Dourisseau had a great career with Donar, winning a handful of championships. He was league MVP and twice a defensive player of the year. He even became a Dutch citizen back in 2015. Pretty wild ride for JRD. Pretty cool, too.

  5. In addition to a big ego, Heady also has thin skin. I took a humorous dig at him on Twitter one day and he blocked me. And, I mean, it was just a harmless little poke. Not bombastic or repeated or anything. Just ... blocked. Michael Severe blocked me too, so I've got that going for me.

  6. Uh...NCAA Champions wasn't an option

  7. I'm not surprised that coach is red shirting Popa. Having a year to build her strength as well as learning more in practice will benefit her future. If I remember right she was still growing not that long ago. The Big Ten is a very physical league especially for posts. This will be a big plus for her. With 16 players on the team having a redshirt or two can be a good thing. I think Coley will basically be a 3 but could be a stretch 4 in certain situations like matchups or an injury to one of our forwards. Coach has a lot of options with the depth we have.

  8. Heady could definitely write a good story. But his basketball knowledge was lacking and he has a big ego. Someone on the Red Sea Scrolls put together a compilation of blatantly false things Heady wrote in the paper and on Twitter. I listened to a podcast a couple years ago where Heady was a guest. During the conversation, he argued adamantly that Doc never beat Creighton. Doc went 3-3 against Creighton. It was cringey. He grew up a KU fan in suburban KC, so I understand if you don't know certain things about Nebraska's history. But don't keep doubling down on it when you're the only guy in the room who doesn't know (and you're the Nebrasketball beat writer at the biggest newspaper in the state). Couldn't take him seriously after that.

  9. so far Watkins seems alright. I need a larger sample size before I can judge. But Heady, I thought, was great. Insightful and passionate. He knew his stuff and was dedicated. Really liked his podcast with nyatawa as well. He was very invested and his writing was not boring.

  10. You know it’s almost basketball season when you start seeing scores from those super secret scrimmages.

  11. Once again, I have no clue how the scoring system works, nor do I want to learn how it works. I simply guess with my heart and not my brain...so winning this seems to be totally outside reality. That said, I guess each game religiously and truly appreciate your efforts in making this happen. Thank you!

  12. Most talented NU team since 95-96? Can this NU team manage egos and playing time, unlike 95-96? Great look back and ahead from World-Herald. https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/mens-basketball/nebraska-basketballs-most-talented-team-fell-apart-how-do-these-huskers-avoid-that-fate/article_69b67a7c-334a-11ec-9ed0-8bdf478528ab.html

  13. Per their Twitter, UNO. Looks like no Dillard (knee), Popa (Redshirt), and Brady did not play. All three were not dressed to scrimmage. So any news on Brady and Popa?
