Thanks for the discussion @huskerfrank. We need more like it for WBB. I'm hoping Bella gets more recognition for her (ample) talents and contributions this season now that she won't be in Kate Cain's shadow. As you mentioned she's a monster defender; I think we were very fortunate to get her as a transfer. I'm thinking we are going to be pleasantly surprised by the incoming recruits this year. It seems last year's team out-performed a lot of our expectations (or we underestimated their abilities) and I'm hoping (expecting ) this year's team does too! I'm only disappointed that we won't get to see Tatiana play this season, but that may bode well for the future.

We have Issy, Bella, Anni, Alexis, and from what I understand Kendall C., at the 4 and the 5. So that is 80 minutes to be divided between those 5 players. Tatiana would not benefit from being the 6th piece of an already jammed rotation. Hopefully I'm wrong about Coley who should be a 3. So if Issy and Bella ONLY play 25 mins each, that leaves 10 minutes each for Anni, Alexis, and Kendall C., who all can do very good things. Also, I feel Bella is very underrated as she rebounds and defends like a beast, moves the ball, and can play very well without taking a ton of shots which is a rare ability.

Pretty good OWH article, but as a close observer of the Nee-era teams, I would use the same headline but substitute the 92-93 team which I witnessed losing to a much inferior K State team in the Big Eight tourney first round and then being blown out by New Mexico State in the first round of the NCAA. That team was equally talented but did not win the NIT. The main cause of team conflict that year was the talented Andre Woolridge.

I'm grateful we have one of the best radio broadcasters in the business still doing Husker games. Kent is a treasure. I'm also grateful the OWH traded Heady for this Watkins kid. He's doing a good job. Why take the team photo when one of your scholarship players isn't there? Just have the photographer come back next week, yeah?

Unfortunately that gambit does not appear to have paid off...hopefully he's good enough to warrant an offer on his own.

This could very well happen, but what I'm most excited about is that we seem to have enough shooting that we'll have significantly less games where we hit nothing eternally all game. Now you can just sub the guy out and the guy coming in will likely shoot it better. I don't even remember the last time this was possible here.

Sweeeeet. I am telling ya...this is a DUDE. He is going to play a lot of quality minutes for us.
