    Alonzo Verge Jr.

Alonzo was offered a 2-way contract to play for the Hornets meaning we have a legit NBA point guard. We haven’t been able to say that since Ty Lue? I agree that he could easily be our best player. Trey would be a close second with how much he adds on the defensive end.

  4. Can we send all of our guys to Breidenbach's chiropractor? We wouldn't need to stand on tippy-toes for team photos anymore. The offseason got even better for Breidenbach and Nebraska. Even before his injury, Breidenbach had started seeing a back specialist to help him straighten out a hunch in his shoulders that’d he had most of his life. In just a few months, he was able to improve his posture and stand up straighter. Breidenbach arrived at Nebraska listed at 6-foot-9, 210 pounds. When the team took official measurements, he measured in at 6-10.5.

aren't i though!!! minny probably won't be the last big ten school to offer. just going by my gut, here.........as long as things keep improving in the program (fans are hoping) i have a feeling her choice will come down to the huskers and the jays. there may be a couple or so out of state schools thrown in the mix. i agree with Red Don, i like the huskers chances (once again, as long as the program can maintain/grow its competitiveness from last season). yep, keeping

  7. Technically yes. Mens bball has been or was an afterthought despite Nees success for 4-5 years. The univ only cared about their cash cow that is fb

  8. It would be nice to get to the point to where we are good enough to expect to keep the elite in state talent at home, instead of merely hoping to.

  9. Has a high school recruit ever said anything negative about an official visit? Just wondering. It would be refreshing if someone would someday say something like the "the staff were smarmy and the team returning for next year seemed like a bunch of egotistical jerks."

Yes.....another Aussie. Really want to see her play. She's certainly no sleeper. Appears she has some game at the college level.

  15. Bro... he had one bad year and immediately came back with 9-3 with a brand new staff. Don't tell me you wouldn't love going back to those days and even the best days of Pelini compared to this trash. Edit: I have a strict personal rule of not discussing football on this board so reply to me if you want, but you get the last word here as I'm done.

    Trev Alberts

I have had some...... strange.... interactions with Trev, we'll leave it at that. So not a dude I'd want to go hang out with at the bars. That being said - he's the perfect type of person to be AD here. He's got political appeal (that kind of, distinguished senator vibe), and he's completely no-nonsense. He's also willing to make very tough decisions and say what needs to be said. Honestly, Hoiberg should be thrilled with this hire. I think Trev cares more about if you are running your program correctly, working hard, kids are staying out of trouble, graduating, being great people, etc... then truly winning. I just think he "gets it," also. Frost on the other hand..... this should be a sobering hire for him, Davison, and Lambrecht. Word choice intended.

  17. Well hell lets just keep this crazy train rolling. Its also Osbornes damn fault basketball has sucked for as long as it has. If he wasn't so successful the University would have focused more attention on the hardcourt and banners would be hanging in the rafters by now!

  18. I forgot about Kojenets. If he redshirts this year it is odd that we would go hard after a center like Kohler. Trust in Fred and Matt! They know how to build a team better than I do.

  23. Just out of curiosity, does anyone know how Mr. Breidenbach likes to be addressed? Wil, Willie, Vilhelm, Brides? Wilhelm seems a bit cumbersome for everyday use.

  24. Hard to determine about a guy who hasn't made it on campus but feels like he'd fill a Kojenets role.

  25. UNC, Virginia and Michigan State are "big dogs" as well and they've been heavily recruiting him for months. Also Wisconsin, Purdue, Ohio State, Oregon, etc.. Don't be surprised if Duke and Gonzaga offer this summer. A 247 analyst evaluated Traudt last week at a tournament and said he was a top 4 PF in the country, and possibly the best PF in the country. I think he'll end up a 5-star before it's all said and done. Having said all that, based on Traudt's comments, he seems to really value relationships with the coaching staff and Hoiberg has been recruiting him longer than anyone else. We know his family would like him to stay closer to home. He seems to have a strong relationship with Tony Bennett and Virginia's staff but, also based off his comments, the style of system he describes he wants to play in doesn't fit what Virginia does offensively. And... He was the first Husker recruit or player Nate Loenser followed on Twitter... Traudt followed Ramel Lloyd Jr. on Twitter... And Traudt and Jasen Green have talked about playing together in college. I believe Nebraska has a legitimate chance at getting Traudt. Cross your fingers and hope that Gonzaga doesn't offer soon. They've been recruiting him for awhile but haven't pulled the trigger yet. "If they offer in July, I will definitely take an official there." He fits right in with their recent lineage of versatile NBA caliber bigs. Timme, Holmgren, Zach Collins, Olynyk, Sabonis, Tillie. Timme and Holmgren will likely be gone after next season and they'll need another one. Traudt plans on committing in September/October, so we'll know pretty soon...

  29. The most under-hyped newcomer of them all IMO. He’s going to be a special player here. Even if Traudt comes next year, it’ll be hard to keep either one of those guys off the floor.

The amount a person makes shouldn't matter. If a person is true to those words they should be applauded if it also makes them financially secure. Because as you eluded to in the example of a teacher it is rarely the case.

  34. @Noah121 the "missed your calling" question should be interpreted as: If you weren't doing what you've chosen for a career and could choose anything else you have a passion for, what would it be? And it doesn't have to be realistic. For example, someone might say "Professional Bass Fisherman" if they simply enjoy the hell out of fishing even if they're not particularly skilled at it. Is there something you have a passion for outside of work? If so, what is it? That's your missed calling. P.S. Do not even try to claim you missed your calling as a Chippendale Dancer. That is simply not going to fly with this crowd. We've all seen you dance.

  35. Yet as T.O.'s players left the recruiting dropped. He also had no experience as head coach, let alone one that was the machine that was here. Seems to be common at times with this univ

  36. Lets see. 1st of all he did what no one will ever do here again as a coach. Great thing, but that expectation is still in the minds of husker fans that they will always judge their program with and others that havent. He made the univ hire his coach to replace him which ultimately started the downfall and lost the best AD the univ has had. He was totally behind the AD that was a disaster to replace the AD he drove away. He hired a coach with no head coaching experience that embarassed the univ and didnt care about the fans when he should of hired his former assistant or a proven head coach but insisted he couldnt bring his assistants. He moved to the big ten which at the time seemed good because of money and academics but in reality sports wise they havent competed and seem lost in no regional competition. Be is far from a progressive which has hurt this state and program cause everyone thinks he is a god. I could go on but I think that is enough. Im sure I'll get plenty of downvotes for this but reality hurts.
