  1. Nice burner, Robin lol

  2. The reason is that with no more Burno, it threw off everyone's perception of time. With Burno around 50 days seems like a year, so then without him the space-time continuum is really screwed up down there; so much so that everyone felt the need to leave.

I think Verge very well might be our best player, but I wonder if his "source" that says he could be an all-american is the same source that said Cam Mack was a one-and-done NBA player, Jervay Green had NBA potential and Dalano was a lottery pick... As for Breidenbach, my prediction is Lat will either transfer or turn pro after this year, because he'll see the writing on the wall that Wilhelm will be the man at the 4 spot going forward (at least until Traudt gets here...)

Yep. There was a time when we thought Jacob Hammond was going to lead us to the promised land.

  5. Loved how they raised ticket prices by about 20% (at least for my seats) per ticket after the two worst seasons in program history and sticking with the team through the pandemic. Was kinda disappointed to see that, honestly.

Definitely think he goes pro in Australia after this season. I'd say we're recruiting like it's something he's talked about with the staff.

Good shooter, good scorer but it was pretty disappointing how little he seemed to create offense for others.

  8. Like many of you, I am hoping that Bryce will be our best player this season. 5 stars don't grow on trees, ya know? To temper and/or validate expectations, I just looked up the past five players who held the same Rivals ranking as Bryce (#26) in their respective recruiting classes to see what their freshman production level was. I looked at minutes, points, shooting percentage, and either rebounds or assists depending on what position they were recruited as. The results are, well, kind of all across the board. 2020 Kristian Lander (PG, Indiana) - 10.2 mpg, 2.1 ppg, 1.2 apg, .257 FG% (yikes!!) 2019 Oscar Tshiebwe (C, West Virginia) - 23.2 mpg, 11.2 ppg, 9.3 rpg, .552 FG% 2018 Coby White (SG, North Carolina) - 28.5 mpg, 16.1 ppg, 4.1 apg, .423 FG% 2017 Emmanuel Akot (SF, Arizona) - 10.4 mpg, 1.8 ppg, 1.1 rpg, .389 FG% 2016 VJ King (SF, Louisville) - 13.5 mpg, 5.5 ppg, 2.1 rpg, .436 FG% A couple of those stat lines really jump out in a good way. Tshiebwe had a phenomenal frosh season, nearly averaging a double double while garnering 2nd Team All-Big 12 honors. White put up gaudy numbers in his one season in Chapel Hill, was named a 2nd Team All-ACC player, and was a one-and-done #7 overall pick in the NBA draft. Then there is the "cautionary tale" side of the list. Lander struggled to make any kind of impact for the Hoosiers last season. Ditto for Akot at Zona in 2017. King had an OK-ish freshman year. And perhaps looking just a tad too far down the road, it is interesting to see where these players are now. Lander - entered name in transfer portal after one season, but decided to stay at IU for 2021-22. Tshiebwe - two seasons at WVU before transferring to Kentucky. White - aforementioned #7 pick in NBA draft. Starter for Chicago Bulls last year. Akot - two years at Zona before transferring to Boise State. 9.1 ppg/3.6 rpg last year for the Broncos. King - Three down-and-up-and-down-again years at Louisville before declaring for the draft. UFA. Landed in G-league.

    2021 Transfer SZN

I had heard that Tech was going to be the pick. Nice to not have to worry about playing against him!

Actually, Robin is paid to be a reporter—not an optimist. And he is good at reporting. He is well-informed and is reliable in the information he provides. His information today, for example, on Breidenbach’s three point shooting is fact-based (i.e., number of misses in a large quantity of shots, based on observations of an eye witness), not opinion-based. His comments on Verge are about other people’s opinions—not his own opinion (so, we might be skeptical about those opinions—but not about Robin’s reporting).

"Our best player"?! Wow! That's got to be the highest optimism yet, right? Robin didn't disclose his sources. Nor did he opine on their credibility or expertise.

  12. Just putting this here. Not saying things were all sunshine and roses, but I enjoyed Frank's time with Nebraska and respected and kept an eye on his career at Ohio. Best of luck in retirement, Frank!

I still think we’re gonna see more of Kobe off the ball at the “two” guard spot. He shot 38% from three last year and over 40% after our Covid break last year when we saw a better representation of what this offense can be. And that better representation had him catching and shooting more than creating for himself or others.

  14. Looking at the group photo in this tweet, Edwards is all of 6'7", maybe taller. And HCFH grew a little too!

When you add in the Nebrasketball shooting curse (75% of "normal" output once you step foot in a Nebraska basketball uniform), he still has 15.2 PPG. I'll take it.
