Think about how, almost without justification, our fans have loyally followed and shown up for this Husker basketball team. Posting attendance numbers that consistently place us in the top 15 teams in the nation. And now that loyalty might be rewarded BECAUSE OF that loyalty. The number of eyeballs we can put onto social media translate into $$$$ for players' NIL. Which makes us an attractive destination for recruits. Guys, get on Twitter and start following players and recruits.

Speaking of Cade— his struggles tonight may actually help us if we get to a Monday “if necessary” game.

Well— it’s #1 Arkansas against a Nebraska team that hasn’t lost an out of conference game in well over a year tomorrow. What a time to be alive.

I was just thinking that Cade will be gone.

The person who has the best view would overrule. I'm guessing either the 1st base or the 3rd base ump. The 2nd base ump is getting in position to make the call at 2nd.

We have some talented arms. It will depend on the draft. If Cade gets drafted, and leaves. I would assume the rotation would by Shay, Perry, and Koty/Olson/Gomes fighting for that last spot. Bunz/Wynne/Gomes (if he doesn't win a starting spot) would be fighting for the closer spot. If Cade stays, it would probably be Cade, Shay, and Perry. Hidden gem is Braxton Bragg. He has really good stuff, but had a case of the yips this year, and couldn't throw strikes. He gets that figured out, and he could be a key piece to our puzzle.

I think he was overruled. I, personally, would have played the game under protest. Not that it probably mattered. Another reason I would have blown a gasket, the home plate umpire signaled the batter was out. I would assume the SS would have noticed it, and after making the tag, would not worry about the runner trying to score. That was a terrible decision by the umps that actually benefited us.

That was some quality hitting by Mojo. Knew the 3rd baseman would be covering and tapped it into the hole.

I'm not sure you're right about that. Nebraska is on the leading edge of the Name Image Likeness curve and, from what I can gather, this is largely due to the entrepreneurial efforts of Blake Lawrence. It's seems too much of a coincidence that we're landing visits from such high profile guys (the kinds of players we could never get our foot in the door with in years past) now that we're ready to roll with NIL opportunities. Yesterday, basically all the head coaches of the major programs at Nebraska retweeted that tweet about NIL from Husker Athletics. It's clear they view this as a big deal. I think this will do more for recruiting than building PBA did. Or Hendricks. And it costs us basically nothing. We just had to have a program ready to roll out to help our student athletes monetize their NIL right off the bat, and thanks to Blake Lawrence, we've done that. I'd be surprised if we were getting visits from all the top-level players we're getting if we hadn't been on the leading edge of that curve. And I'll bet that's going to be a big part of the sales pitch when they're here.

    NEXT SEASON.......

Just my view of course, and Geno's opinion is that of a coach... ...but the transfer thing is getting crazy. And yes it does really mess with a school and all the time, money, and work (effort) spent recruiting a player. The whole thing is kind of a one way street, the player gets to do their own thing with little regard for loyalty or honoring the commitment they made for getting a paid (free) education, usually because they aren't a starter (sound familiar)...or don't get what they want. It's all about me... is the current vibe these days.....so be it I guess, like lots of things, not just college athletics. I'm just to old school I guess.
