    Thank you, Thor!

Thank you, Thor, for being a great ambassador of the program and the university, for always making the hustle-play, and, most especially, for blocking that shot.

    Thank you, Thor!

Thorir was a great representative for the University of Nebraska and a smart basketball player. I wish he had played more as a freshman. He understood the offense and was a team first guy. Winning teams need selfless players. Best to you in your future young man. Hope to visit your scenic country before my time is done.

  3. Well I’m too old for that. Can you live with 10 years and an Elite 8?

  4. I would like to see him be able to come back for senior day next year so we can send him off from the team like a true Nebraskan should get.

  5. You will see this kid skyrocket this next year with "big 3" graduated. Diamond in the (not so) rough.

  6. I picked Keon because if the defense sells out to stop Bryce from getting the ball, Keon is the only other guy who seems reasonably likely to not only be able to reliably hit from outside, but who can also break his defender down on the dribble and get to the rim and score. I wanted 5 guys out there who I thought could hit the front end of a 1-and-1. That left Derrick Walker on the bench. And, too often during the season, the guy missing front ends was Trey. And he and Banton both were just mid-60s from the stripe. So, I wasn't sure I wanted them in there. I wanted to eliminate the possibility that they could leave a shot blocker inside to contest at the rim, so I wanted to spread the court with shooters, but in the event Bryce misses the shot and the ball remains live, I wanted some length to play defense on the other end, so I went with Lat and Keon for their length.

  7. The Panda Tangent said on today's Omaha World Herald Pick Six podcast that Derrick Walker is planning on playing here two more years. So that would project them to have Keita, Andre, Walker, and Oleg inside. Just what everyone expected when Fred came in with his five out open post offense, promising to play without a traditional big man all the time - to be four deep at center.

  8. Yeah, I would love for Nebraska to add him. Plus, added benefits would be that Nebraska needs to be able to start landing top Omaha talent, to open that pipeline up, instead of letting those guys leave the state. Another side benefit could potentially be that if things don’t work out for Sallis in Spokane, for whatever reason, it probably wouldn’t hurt Nebraska to be a school close pretty close to his home and also where his high school teammate is playing ball.

  14. Well, the guy I picked (Dalano - circled) bizarrely fouled out in the first half and twisted his ankle badly walking back to the bench so what do I know??? Why did I carry that stupid envelope around with me for damn near a year? GAH!!

  15. If we’re up two the most important thing is not turning it over. I’m having Trey bring the ball up and once we’re in the half court giving it to Kobe to initiate. Trey Kobe Bryce Keon Derrick Now if we’re down two, swap out Trey for Keisei. Let Kobe bring it up as they pry won’t be pressing up two. Run Keisei around some screens looking for an early easy look, and if it’s isn’t there get it to Bryce and make some space for him.

  16. This is close to mine, too. Trey, Bryce, Derrick for sure. I think Kobe's going to be rock solid. To me the last spot comes down to Lat or Banton. I think Lat spreads the floor and opens things up. But I think Banton's probably going to make a big jump. So, I'm going to roll with @millerhuskerand go with Trey, Kobe, Bryce, Banton and Walker, too.

  18. Trey Kobe Bryce (circled) Dalano Derrick Wisconsin is going to harass us and they don’t need to foul. I want ball handlers, toughness, and rebounding in this situation.

  19. I think Eddie Sutton remarked, and this is not exact, that Collier was recruiting players that would be better fits in lower level conferences.

  20. Trey McGowens Kobe Webster Eduardo Andre Bryce McGowens Dalano Banton. I am going with known quantities, save for Bryce, because I don’t know enough about the newcomers.

  35. https://nebraska.rivals.com/news/2022-rivals150-pg-avery-brown-excited-to-see-nebraska Pretty standard recruiting piece. Nothing out of the norm. Probably the thing that stands out the most is that he wants to play for an up-tempo team...but is considering Virginia?

  36. Ranger won in overtime today and is Final Four bound! Keisei had 25 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Blaise Keita and Coffeyville also got an OT win and going to the Final Four. Keita had 19 points (9/10 FTs!), 6 rebounds and 2 blocks. They’re on opposite sides of the bracket, so they could meet in the championship game. That’d be pretty awesome .

  37. I don't think Barry Collier had a clue how tough it was going to be to recruit as Nebraska in the Big 12 and what kind of players he would need to compete at the P5 level, and he was woefully unprepared for the challenge. He thought he could get by with 3rd team all-Jayhawk conference juco players when we were used to having 1st team All-American juco players. It took him 3 years to realize he needed huge help with recruiting and, by that time, the die was cast and he was in big trouble. Doc was at least trying to get the better juco players as well as some quality HS kids, but he still lacked the recruiting chops and it's no wonder he took a position here under Hoiberg with an understanding that he wouldn't have to take part in recruiting.
