As this site's resident Forrest Gump, I am glad you mentioned the legendary Ralph Miller. I was actually present at Allen Fieldhouse to see a special playoff game his Wichita State team played against Drake for the Missouri Valley Conference championship in his final year of coaching at Wichita in 1964. I rooted for the great Shocker team that year who had Dave Stallworth and Nate Bowman and had seen them beat #1 rated Cincinnati at the Roundhouse. KU had,of course, sucked in 63-64, my last undergrad. year.2 points -

It's tough sledding these days with teams building for the future and all of the sudden a team like Wisconsin could have 16 scholarship players if everyone stuck around. Way too many mouths to feed. That's why it's a great year to be team like us that has schollies to fill....it's a buyer's market2 points -

I’m assuming our game with perennial Tournament also-rans Creighton will be in Lincoln next year. I believe they’re up TWO in the All-time series, time to make our move & put em in the rearview mirror for good...1 point -

If we can get a solid squad together and play Hoiberg's offense as intended, that Nebraska/Creighton matchup will be real fun to watch, from both sides!1 point -

I was completely underwhelmed when I read about the Woodson hire - then came the part about Matta being in the IU administration. Instantly turned to intrigued by how this might play out.1 point -

Agree. Things came pretty easy for Gonzaga and it did not seem like they played that well. When Ballock struggled it was over for Creighton.1 point -

Nope! Indiana won: 73-70. But Michigan Lost a squeaker at the end to Baylor: 78-75 in OT. Michigan never led in the game until OT (they seemed to always be behind by about 10 points) & actually went ahead by a couple of points, then Baylor (a fine team, but imho aided somewhat by the refs) went ahead at the final buzzer. Great game by Naz Hillman, & Leigha Brown to keep Michigan in the game & rally to get to OT!!!1 point -

You can't just break out a move like that in a game at crunch time. It takes time to perfect it. I'd imagine tenderizing the freshmen at practice in that special way is just part of the norm at Wisky for Davison.1 point -

imo, even though UConn is running away with it at the end, Iowa has shown themselves pretty well. it's just really tough to hang with all those McDonald's All Americans for 4 quarters. that length and combine it with the ability to jump also...uffda.1 point -

Big Ten coaching changes...

"Moseley spent the past three seasons as the head coach at Boston University, her alma mater, where she guided the women’s basketball program to a 45-29 overall record. In the three seasons prior to her arrival as head coach, the program had built a 26-63 overall record. Moseley was named the Patriot League Coach of the Year after her first BU team finished fourth in 2018-19 after being chosen in the preseason to finish ninth. During the COVID19-influenced 2020-21 season, she led her team to a 12-3 finish and a spot in the conference tournament championship game." side note: Wisconsin to announce AD Barry Alvarez will be stepping down very soon. likely to stay on through July.1 point -
IMO, it happens at all levels, women's and men's. Living in North Carolina, I always joke that the Three Stooges have an anxiety attack and go into shock worthy of hospitalization when Duke & North Carolina square off because they're so used to screwing the opponent of each of those teams in any other game. They simply don't know what to do. Obviously, blue bloods almost always are the beneficiaries of officiating bias, but the same can be said for other good teams when they play the dregs of their conference.1 point

New article on next years team. Sounds like the team has renewed expectations coming next year. ...me too ! 'Williams said competing in four tournament games — two Big Ten, two WNIT — taught her players that physicality is “amped up twofold” and rebounding is even more important in the postseason. Nebraska hopes to capitalize on those lessons next season.' Agree with that 100% https://omaha.com/sports/huskers/womens-basketball/nebraska-womens-basketball-aims-to-give-everyone-a-run-for-their-money-next-season/article_79e0cc42-8d85-11eb-8b4e-1f1da01c1d36.html#utm_source=omaha.com&utm_campaign=%2Fnewsletter-templates%2Flocal%2Fbig-red-today&utm_medium=PostUp&utm_content=3e5fc42e91bb66bc4722400b949b22b43b0d6df31 point

The B1G has shown very well in the Tournament. I like Maryland’s chances. A side note, I thought Iowa State was hosed by some non calls on A&M late in the game.1 point

And all match ups are not created equal. Illinois got a top 10 NET/KenPom team in the 2nd round. Creighton got two teams outside the top 50. Not a knock on CU, they took care of business and if you make enough NCAAs, eventually the matchup gods will look kindly upon you.1 point -

Honestly I don't care if any BIG 10 team ever wins a tournament game. They fvcked us in 2018 by not pushing for 5 teams in the tournament, and for that I'll never forgive them. They did not stand up for us when we needed them most and so there is no benefit in us standing up for them. Lots of schadenfreude over specifically Iowa, Wisconsin, and tOSU losing early. When we finally get into the tournament without any doubt and we win the whole thing on our first try and they make multiple ESPN specials and a movie about our accomplishment then I'll look to the east throw up double birds.1 point -
