  1. It'll be nice to just have another player but she hasn't hardly played in like 4 years. I'm hoping for the best but im not expecting alot.

  2. We'll probably see her (#5) on the floor at some point @ Illinois.

  3. She was recruited as a 3 player. That position has been decimated with the injuries to Taylor K, Trinity B, Ruby P & Issie B. Look for her to give a lot of effort in whatever minutes she gets which will help on defense and rebounding. Gives us some height at guard where we somewhat vertically challenged.

    Teddy

Just wondering what liability Teddy is right now. He just doesnt seem like a fit in this system and seems to stall out what this system should be. He was chucking deep 3's early in shot clock in 1st half, offensive fouls and to's, the team seems to just stand around when he gets the ball. He seemed to make unsmart plays early in the shot clock when NE gets momentum without passing. I dont know, just frustration maybe and you get the good with the bad and have to live with it. I dont think its just this game, its been most games. I know others havent hit shots but I feel maybe the relying on him has held others back.

    Roby

When OKC signed Al Horford, I thought they were going to make him the offensive feature in hopes of increasing his trade value. The guy is approaching 35 years old, makes a team-high $27.5MM this season, and has $69MM/3 years guaranteed remaining. Over the past few years, he's tried to add a 3-point shot to his arsenal with limited success. But this year, his quickness has slowed so much that OKC is forced to use him in a floor-spacing role. Which means all he does is set screens and pop-out for catch-and-shoot jumpers which he just so happens to be horrible at. Defensively, he's limited to being more of a rim-defender as the lack of quickness prohibits him from effectively closing-out and defending the perimeter. Maybe this improves a little when he rejoins the team and gets into some sort of playing shape, but seems unlikely. Couple the abhorrent performance on the court with him taking what's become a two-week sabbatical to witness the birth of his fourth child, this is exactly the type of "veteran leadership" you do not want in the youngest locker room in the league. tl;dr The Thunder need to move on from Horford and give Roby the ball and the bag

  8. I remember she was quick and fast back a few years ago (watching her video's out of HS) when she originally committed to Nebraska, but unfortunately for Mi'cole that was pre surgery(s). Hope for her sake she can play well and more than that, heal up as permanently as much as possible. She's been through a lot. But she's not a rookie either.

  9. I got to watch Kendall play several times his summer. Her body will draw natural comparisons to nicea but their games are way different. Kendall is a quick and a good athlete but not nearly as bouncy or fast from end to end as Nicea I don’t think — in fact after watching her several times last summer she was “less athletic than I thought she would be based the eye test”. However she has a very high b-ball iq and is a very natural passer and has more “grit and toughness” than her physical appearance made me anticipate. What really impressed me was her iq and vocal leadership. She isn’t a Pg but almost a point forward. Bad comparison but a little like a Danny manning type game. She is very charismatic and should also be a GREAT recruiter for he Huskers. Other kids will want to play with her

    What's the problem?

GOOD CHEMISTRY! Kate Cain addressed it in her interview after upsetting O.S. She said it is similar to 3 years ago during her freshmen year. She said playing for each other has really helped this year. If we would have had Issie Tues. we would not have lost to Minny.

    MINNESOTA GAME DAY THREAD

Absolutely. With the roster being what it is right now, being competitive in a Big 10 game is an accomplishment. We have won the lion's share of those close games, and the coaches and players deserve credit for getting the most out of what they got right now.

  12. This sucks I know it sounds dramatic but after seeing what covid did to that kid from Florida I'm fine if they call it a year. Health is all that matters.

    Teddy

Teddy played for Bob Huggins for a year, was coached by Greg Marshall for a year while he redshirted and is now being coached by Doc Sadler. We’re talking three of the better defensive minded coaches in the game. Doc had several juco players who were great defenders at this level. I’m not giving Teddy the juco bad habits excuse. He’s aware of how to play solid defense.

Thats to be seen I guess. I felt the overall offense was much better at times when Teddy isnt being Teddy last game. When this teal shares the ball and attacks the rim they seem to be more ecfective. I think you need Teddy cause of what he can be, but when its running down the court when you have momentum going and chuck up a deep 3 with not one pass is the issue. If he can play more within the offense and not take shots that you can get anytimen he will be more effective

I dont think Teddy is a scapegoat. Its more does he fit this system based on his style of play. I dont think anyone is doubting his talents but what he shows does not fit Freds system.

    Teddy

He was the catalyst in our second half run against Indiana. For about 12-15 minutes in the second half, I felt like we saw what Fred's offense was supposed to look like, and Trey was fantastic during that span. The spacing seemed to be way better, we attacked the rim, and got some really good looks. While Banton's FT misses killed us, I thought one of the biggest failures in the final 3-4 minutes was that McGowens didn't touch the ball near enough. That failure, along with the missed FT's and Teddy deciding to play hero ball, did us in.

    Teddy

Maybe its from the juco level of being the "man" or him having something to prove now,but his style and Freds style dont seem to mesh at this point.

Agreed. I was saying this in the Teddy recruiting thread when everyone was so heated to get him in a Husker uniform. "Be careful what you wish for, because you just might get it". He's no doubt a special talent, but I remain unconvinced that this team is going to go anywhere with him on it. That's not to say that they can't have success, just that I'm not going to hold my breath. He seems like such an odd fit in Hoiberg's system.

    Teddy

Agreed, he seems like a better fit for Miles system. His dirty plays are getting kind of tired to. Im at the point where everytime he gets a foul Im expecting the worse. The punching yesterday was a bit stupid.

    Teddy

Priority #1 should be keeping Trey happy. I doubt this is what he envisioned when signing at Nebraska. We will likely be looking at 30+ straight conference losing streak. Amazing we got a 5 star to sign up for that. And, it will be open season again for those that want to transfer.

Offense needs to run through McGowens, it was working well when that was happening.
