  2. Shoot you haven't lived if you haven't experienced a party line. Watch a few episodes of The Andy Griffith show if you don't know what a party line is. My mom could keep track of me...without a GPS.

    OT: 90 Days

I have 90 calender days left at work, for the last 43 yrs I have walked through the doors of a state office (Roads}. And that will end on Oct 2nd, it is a bitter sweet time for me. I have been telling stories of some of the stuff I have seen and done in those 43 yrs. It is time for the young bucks to take over. I just wish that they would listen to me when they ask for advice. But it is up to them to make thier minds up. I can only tell them what I would do. I have had many close calls (Death/ injuried) I got luckly about a month ago, when a backhoe swung around nearly hitting me. I hit deck, got up and the backhoe operator was white as a ghost. I got lazy and didn't let him know that I was behind him. So it was my fault. I have also had 4 ribs broken and a wrist. I got pinched in a semi trailer and broke the ribs., and when I broke my wrist I was trying break my fall and trying not to get stuck by some rebar. Okay enough of this. I think it will be a sad last day, but I wont have to worry about jobs anymore and can sleep at night.

  7. Huskerpapa: I remember our party line call was three rings, but nobody cared since everyone knew that everyone else on the line picked up any ring. You could tell how dull your conversation was by the number of quiet "clicks" you heard as people gradually hung up. That included the operator who listened in to everyone in town when she was bored.

    Nebraska Recruiting

Thank you for all that you do r.e. WBB recruiting @whoopdeedoo! The Dearth of recruiting news; or follow-up for WBB is Distressing! (as pointed out by so many) For example Taylor McCabe who is from Fremont, NE, is a 'must-get' inho. What is happening in her recruiting? I know coaching staff cannot discuss potential recruits, but surely someone must have an inkling of efforts to recruit her, or are any activity or efforts just like what we are hearing; Crickets? > TO IOWA Or how about Mara Braun, 6-0, G, Wazata HS, Plymouth, MN and teammate of Husker Commit Annika Stewart. Do we have any Chance > TO MINNESOTA Bella Swedlund, as you mention, seems almost tailor-made for the Huskers WBB, talking about educational opportunities, and the number of players who we have placed in the "So You Want to be a Coach' program, and gone on to coaching careers. (No offer yet, as far as I know) https://www.maxpreps.com/athlete/bella-swedlund/ZvcDEbsOEeaAdqA2nzwY6g/default.htm

  11. After I get some more replies, I'll provide some context for my question. In the meantime, I'm on my way over to The Still to purchase a bottle of 18-year-old MacAllen single malt scotch.

if they aren't, Huskers might want to take a serious look at Bella Swedlund from Winner, SD. " Bella Swedlund currently has offers from Illinois, Illinois State, Montana State, and Colgate." Sophomore stats: 5'9" sg/pg 22 games 20.3 ppg 3.4 assists pg 7.2 reb pg 2.8 steals pg .4 blocks pg was watching some of her video. smooth looking 3pt shot---really smooth. can get to the hoop. don't think it is a stretch saying that she will get more attention. SDSU is kinda drooling over her, probably USD also. scuttlebutt is that she will probably go P5. Bella's personal statement: "I want to find a team that my teammates are like sisters. I also want to find a program that helps students get the best education possible and can also help me in basketball coaching skills for later in life."

Congrats, Bugs, not only on the retirement, but also on making it to retirement. Well-deserved and earned, I'm sure. Enjoy it. And don't get Covid in the process, m'kay?

    Big Ten commits...

looks like Northwestern may have another good one: "Caileigh Walsh, the 6-foot-4 post from Sparta, New Jersey, verbally committed to Northwestern. The No. 11 ranked forward chose the Wildcats over UCLA and Vanderbilt." "Armed with a unique combination of size, skill and athleticism, Walsh is a more than capable producer on both ends of the hardwood. She’ll bring the 2020 Big Ten Champions a consistent threat to their inside-outside game offensively as she can shoot the ball out beyond the 3-point line already."

  20. I picked the option to wear a mask and sit in a less dense area but I don't believe that they'll allow the stadium at full capacity and I know that my seats up in the nose bleeds won't get president over those who give donations. So basically I don't anticipate having tickets this upcoming season.

  21. I’ve usually received some info by now, but so far nothing. I have to imagine they’re up against a “drop dead” date on a lot of events here in the next few weeks...

  25. We could put a frontline on the floor we haven’t seen (size wise) since ‘91... also imagine Andre & Yvan paired up with Shamiel, DeLano & Teddy! Please let there be a Basketball season!

  26. I’m in 320, so it’s already “less dense”, but I’m genuinely concerned we might not have a FALL season... we’ll see

  27. If we have to stay 6 feet apart we may have to get in line now so we can be in our seats by tip off of the first game!
