one thing i will say is the passion for/about the game isn't missing from coach...no matter what side you may fall on. i have watched her on the sidelines from the time she was at USD and now at Nebraska. i think most will agree about that part, anyway. for whatever reason, maybe last years squad just wasn't a good mix. kinda like raising children---sometimes you can scream and holler or talk all you want, but, sometimes it just doesn't soak in. just hope things are on the upswing from here on out. (man, i need this virus thing to be over )

  3. Don't know how many coaches are on this board or how many here really dive deep into the X's and O's but Coach Hoiberg gave a great presentation on his transition O and spacing through the NABC and Chanpionship Productions. It' s free and im sure they will have a replay of it.

Curmudgeon alert: This year will be a joke, however it is played, so none of the "records" should count as official stats. First, part of the pleasure of baseball is the joy of being allowed to ruminate during the many pauses in the action while letting the pitcher/batter strategies play out and to partake of a refreshment while enjoying the open air. Secondly, if the object is to get the game over with in the least amount of time, just let each pitcher batter encounter be limited to five minutes and then issue an automatic out or walk randomly and move on. When two hours has elapsed, the game is over and the team that is ahead wins. Oh, and any fans caught looking at their cell phones or taking selfies must to submit to a murder- hornet enema.

I will take it one step further. I think it's crap. If someone doesn't like something like in this case sports then just don't watch or participate. It would take a long time to compile all the positives of sports competition and viewing. My wife and I moved to Lincoln last fall for many reasons including being closer to watch our grand kids participate in their sports events as well as other things. We got here and really started to enjoy doing that and then the virus hits with everything cancelled. The worst part for us is not being able to just give them a big hug. I think we all would like to get back to some kind of normality.

OK, don't have much to do ...locked in the house..... Written in the Washington Post tells you a lot. It's one of those goofy papers that has crazy ideas some times. Seems like they hate the world He probably can't throw a baseball or shoot a 3...so anyone interested in a sport is weird for him. To each own of course....but why does a newspaper waste the space for silly stuff like this.? This is the current level of journalism seen today.

thumbs up to this, Whoop. Although I have my concerns about whether this staff has the capability of making UNL a nationally relevant team, I have no doubts at all about passion, enthusiasm, effort, and want to.

I hate the new rule that a reliever has to pitch to three batters minimum. Takes the strategy out of managing as does the DH. I know that there is more offense with the DH, but I am not sure it is as big a difference as baseball had hoped. I hate the swing angle becoming a issue with at bats. Way to many strikeouts in today's game. Umpires should call the real strike zone and not waist to knees. Traveling should be called as written - err wait wrong game.

  12. That is true and another reason they are looking to put the DH in. There are some that do try like you said with the Braves staff from years ago. Madison Bumgarner and Joel Musgrove are two that come to mind today that compete at the plate. I think the lack of pitchers hitting in the minors or college play a part in that.

  14. In stressful times, laughter does the soul good. So does really good beef. Time for another contest. Post the funniest clip you can find. Might be a cartoon, scene from a movie, comedy routine, sitcom scene, whatever. Just make sure it's family friendly. Whoever gets the most upvotes(sorry, don't know how else to run a contest here), wins a couple steaks and some ground beef from Nebraska Star Beef delivered to your door. Make me proud with your entries. I'll go first....
