That’s the thing - I was expecting a solid team this season because we had our core returning and the sophomore class was more experienced and a solid class to begin with, plus the addition of Bourne and the other freshman. We also had the European trip over the summer to help get a head start on things. Why aren’t we in the top half of the conference looking at an NCAA bid?

That's the problem with these coaches... After 4 years you would think the players would get better at what they arent!! But it typical fashion this year I see a 4th quarter comeback and loss by 5 happening.

In retrospect, I might have been too critical of this year’s squad. The season has been a disappointment but maybe wholesale changes are not yet necessary. I don’t see a huge step forward next season but the message has to be, we as fans, expect better.

Plus, he has that DOPE hairdo like George Clinton....

So that's it? Scoring, athleticism, team player, intelligence, court savvy? Anything else? I guess I'd take him.

Which coach is responsible for coaching offense? 4 years into this we need better coaching. If an assistant is in charge of offense, Amy needs to find someone new. If it's Amy, Moos needs to find someone new. After 4 years our players shouldn't look like they were just now introduced to each other. Effort isn't the problem (well, except for Hannah who looks like she checked out several games ago). Talent isn't the problem. That only leaves coaching.

My recommendation for the young man would be to find a college that limits its basketball roster to 5 players or find a college that is looking to start a team from scratch so he can be their first and only player.

As fans we are disappointed or maybe frustrated with the performance on the court. I just think we could do so much more. It is like we just can get timing down. Almost like we are a step or second slow on a drive or a pass and instead of a open look we have a contested shot or the pass gets stolen. For me it is like the coaches has no answers to get this turned around.

I think it's a no doubter he'll be coaching. He talked in the three beers later podcast about interviewing for the Cal job the day after he was let go at Nebraska. So he's clearly in demand.

I got to watch the Agua Caliente Clippers play the Stockton Kings last night. JPJ put up 28 points. Just 2-8 on 3 pointers though.

And that's before they begin to stalk out early.

I really do like Amy but the fundamentals on this team is just crazy!!! We have the players but we don't execute at all any plays

25 games into the season and we play like this..... Sad. No offensive scheme ...or using basic plays....dribble dribble ...shoot the three Really wonder what the heck is going on with this team. Shot 28% in 1st half We have some good players on this team......just not enough with real effective skills apparently. Ok...I'll stop ....just hurts to see them like this...and I'm sure they aren't happy either

Shooting way to many 3s...we aren't good enough at it, to keep shooting endless 3s.

It'll happen when you play in one of the most horrifically over-rated conferences in the history of college sports.

Or, as I’d like to call it, the most God-foresaken month in the history of the world.

Nebraska recruited...pretty good in the first two classes. I don't know that Brown and Haiby were ranked as Top 100, per se, but they've been really good through two years. Cain and Kissinger have tracked pretty well to this point. Bourne's clearly talented and would have been a top 100 recruit were she an American. Porter, too. Generally, I think NW/Indiana/Minnesota/Nebraska...that's all about the same talent level most years. NCAA Tournament bids hinge on half-court execution and hitting 3s. Now, if you're talking Maryland/Ohio State? Yeah, that's a different level. Maryland has built in geographic and tradition advantages; the team's top four players all live within 70 miles of the school. Ohio State made a...calculated...decision to hire the father of an eventual four-time All-American and pay him 134,000 per year for 4 years to be an assistant coach. But it worked and shaped the program. (It's worth noting OSU's top two posts are European recruits.) And I'd argue Michigan/Michigan State have more talented parts that tend not, for whatever reason, to add up to a greater sum. Purdue's hitting a hard reset button after this year. Invariably, Iowa's in the conversation, and that's fair. We'll see if they're at the tail end of their McCarville/Whalen era with Gustafson and Doyle, or if the next recruiting class keeps it going. Iowa's done a good job of going from Sam Logic to Doyle to perhaps Clark, who comes in next year. As for Nebraska...yeah, when it went, at PG, from Moore to Theriot to Romeo transferring to Doyle backing out...that was a hard transition. And it doesn't feel like the position has been great in the last two years. Because I think Jordan Hoopers are very, very rare - the versatility and output of her game, the fact that the best player had a personality that could complement any kind of coaching, any kind of teammate, any injury - you have to find great guards who can win late. Cain's had a stronger year than even her stats would suggest, but college basketball is a guard game.

That's basically just the spin when a guy decommits though, right? Like if Allen decommitted tomorrow, we already know what that spin would look like. At the end of the day, I think the direction we're going is 'win now' and bringing in Allen goes towards that. DW wants to play right away and it's becoming more difficult to see that with the roster we're putting together. I guess what I don't get is the need to assign any sort of blame here one way or another. I get where Nebraska is coming from and I get where DW is coming from. It's too bad this didn't happen. We're all about transfers. Go somewhere else and if things don't work out there let's talk.

Usually if you recruit the mom first you have a pretty good shot.
