  1. If we had kept Miles on for another year this site likely would have turned into Husker Beilein Central on Sunday

  2. Coach should be safe but she needs to do a thorough self-evaluation, staff evaluation and recruiting evaluation. Fans of this program deserve to see better results. Frankly, with Hannah and Nicea departing, I don’t see a step up next year. We certainly have not improved our B1G standing over last season.

  4. I know what you mean. But no...wouldn't go that far....there's a lot of games left to make a turnaround. After the season, if things don't improve, or even if they do ...there may be some considerations as too how things are done, staffing, recruiting, etc etc. Moos is known to get involved if he chooses. He' certainly gives the coaches latitude in fixing their issues though. Feel like Coach Amy has a pretty good grasp on what she's doing. Moos could offer a little bit of "encouragement" if he see's fit after the season, like he does in all sports. Some discussion on fixes maybe? That's his deal...what he gets paid for .... He certainly has cleaned house in other sports as we all know. But just don't think we're at that point in women's BBall. Coach is a good representative for NU, the kids seem to like her.....the kind of stuff we want. We'll see after the season. Some small things can make big differences.

  5. Gonzaga has had 7 players drafted in the 1st round since 2006 and that included Morrison who went 3rd overall. Gonzaga is a brand name in college basketball. Plus if you're an NBA level talent, the NBA will find you.

  6. I’m not a fan of what the yanker said - “it was never my Intention to hurt someone”. It never is. If I had done something like that as a kid my parents would have put my ass in a sling. Grabbing someone by their hair and forcibly pulling them down is going to harm that person. What part of that isn’t clear?

  8. The idea of a husker making 8 outta every ten free throws they shoot seems like a dream. To think teddy Allen might be able to make 9 outta every ten has me giddy.

  12. For two seasons now we have been in almost every ballgame. We are so close to taking that next step but 4 years of having too many turnovers and giving up way too many offensive rebounds just doesn't seem to get fixed. Coach talks about it but we need a big improvement in those two areas. The rest seems to be taken care of.

  13. Probably not, but should be. 4 years in, and still no point guard. (Only one of many recurring issues, not resolved).

  14. No excuses for the loss....we missed some relatively easy shots sometimes in the second half. The last play with a wide open Kate passing to Verbeek....ouch. That wasn't the only ouch... but happened at crucial moment. And turnovers were killers in the second. Officials....we did get several "odd" calls. And many were against us. If it happens multiple times...,,like today...it does/can have an affect on the final result. We've talked about this numerous times.....still the same. How/why are so many inept officials calling major college basketball?..women's or otherwise. ...inept at their job.. The charge against Bourne out front...bad call. The phantom foul called on Hanna (on a layup) when replay clearly showed no contact. We had our chance to win for sure. This season has collapsed under Coach Amy....I would have done some things differently but doesn't matter what I think anyway.

  17. Looks like Beilein's tenure in the NBA will be short-lived:

  18. Beilein could coach whenever he wants to, next. He just didn't fit in Cleveland, at this time. I'd imagine he'll be back coaching again next year. I like how J.B. coaches, generally speaking.

Agree about Big XII games. We could play TCU, Texas, Texas Tech , OU etc., and hook up with Colorado, BYU, etc.

  22. Shouldn’t we be trying to set up Hannah to score? 4 shots from a player who was a big scorer two seasons ago! IMO our post offense tends to stagnate and has been inefficient and inconsistent.

Apparently done for the season with a hand injury. Very disappointing and I feel for the guy. When it happened, he did everything to stay in the game, had to be convinced to come out. Thanks for your hard work and dedication to the program, MK. Too bad this year didn’t workout like you imagined, but we are grateful for your contribution!

  27. Yeah hire a damn near 70 year old for an organization that is rebuilding didnt make much sense to me either lol

  28. I never understood this hire either, that Cleveland job minus LeBron is about like coaching the Knicks without the “glitz”...

  29. one area that needs better research: developing a non-con schedule. i imagine coach gives final ok, but, i believe Katie Adams is in charge of non-con schedule. 2019 non-con: team overall record rpi (warren nolan) Duke 15-10 31 Missouri 6-19 141 USC 13-12 76 Creighton 16-9 39 Alabama A&M 12-11 262 Morgan St 10-13 251 SIUE 3-21 333 Southern 9-12 242 Sacred Heart 7-15 306 Oral Roberts 10-14 210 Manhattan 10-14 222 unless you want to take a chance with sdsu or usd (which i doubt amy would approve) i would stay away from anyone else in the summit. except for sdsu and usd, it's a pretty bad league---at least currently.

  34. We played Baylor about even all weekend, not bad considering they're preseason receiving votes, had some top 25 votes, probably got more time outside than us, and they were at home. With our schedule through the first 9 games we aren't going be able to get away with many mistakes. If we're 4-5 by the time we get to hawks field that would be just fine.

After a stint on the bench in the middle part of the season, Kavas had started to work his way back into the rotation & become a productive teammate on the court (same as Jervay Green). I hope he makes a full recovery.

I will be the first to step up and say that I was pretty hard on Kavas this year. Unfortunately, I expected more out of him in the beginning. Whether those expectations were fair or not is up for debate. I wanted him sat earlier this year, stated that he struggled doing the one job that he was brought here for, and like many, complained about his defense. With that being said, I was very impressed with him the last few games. He was coming on shooting the three, defense was better... not great, but better, and he was doing a nice job driving as well. I am very sad to see his season and college career end in this way. While I was hard on him early this year, he put his faith in my team. As a grad transfer, he could have went anywhere he wanted. He chose MY TEAM and for that I am thankful. He fought as best as he could for MY TEAM and for that I am thankful. It can't be easy, knowing that this was it. That this was his last shot in college. Kavas-- Thank you for what you did for Nebraska basketball. Thank you for choosing us, and thank you for giving it your all. I know this season may not have worked out the way that you wanted, but know that you will forever be a Husker!

  46. Minnesota is the epitome of mediocrity, and yet because of all these formulas, they're a solid 8 seed right now. Whereas two years ago, we ... never mind. It's too painful to think about.
