  2. I read somewhere that Wichita is going to be one of the biggest teams in the country. WSU will be solid this year. 3 starters back from a 22 win team and Marshall can coach! This was a good PHYSICAL team for our boys to play against. Great learning/teaching tool for our coaches.

  3. Nice thing about these exhibitions is that you can finally get a good look at another team and Wichita State is a sleeper in a lot of predictions I’ve seen. Overall, still learning to gel. The cupcakey schedule to begin the year should be a good opportunity to gain some confidence.

  4. Now I would be concerned if we lost this one by double figures

  6. I would suspect he spends the majority of the season there, going back and forth a few times to gain experience in practice with the team. The G League season doesn’t start until November 8 so I’d expect him to go down right before to practice with the team. San Antonio has done a phenomenal job developing players through their team while keeping them close to the main team for the future so you see more teams doing that now.

  9. well, it's not like nobody saw size and interior play as being a major issue for the upcoming season. Concern confirmed, as it were.

    2019 Football Outlook

You say that as if Indiana is some awful team. When in reality they will win 8 or 9 games this year and you could argue they played Ohio State the best of any team this year so far. Not excusing the loss. The reality is, Nebraska was either way worse off than anyone realized or Scott Frost and Co. arent as great as advertised/thought to believe or somewhere in the middle of both extremes. I honestly dont know the answer and you probably dont either. But its too early to tell. Next year will tell us alot imo.

  11. The Riley excuse is running pretty thin when you can’t even beat Indiana at home. 5 millions dollars a year and the go is on the verge of missing a bowl again. I would say Frost has some pretty tough choices to make this offseason but I have zero faith in him getting rid of any of his buddies.

  13. Via UNL Huskers Fall in Closed Scrimmage Wichita, Kan. -- Cam Mack had 17 points to lead three Huskers in double figures, but the Huskers fell to Wichita State, 89-75, in a closed scrimmage Saturday afternoon. “It was a great opportunity for us to play a big, strong, physical team like Wichita State,” Nebraska Coach Fred Hoiberg said. “I thought we had some good moments, and also had some things we that we can certainly learn from today.” Mack topped led the Huskers in rebounds (six) and assists (six), while Matej Kavas and Jervay Green added 15 and 14 points, respectively. Kavas went 5-of-8 from 3-point range and Green chipped in a pair of 3-pointers in the loss. Trey Wade led four WSU players in double figures with 18 points and 11 rebounds, while Erik Stevenson added 17 points, including four 3-pointers for the winners. WSU also hit nine 3-pointers and went 12-of-14 from the line, while Nebraska went 12-of-20 from the line, including several front ends from the charity stripe in the first half. Nebraska held Wichita State, which won 22 games and reached the semifinals of the NIT last season, to 45 percent shooting on the day, but were outrebounded 51-36, including 17 offensive caroms. “We have to be able to find a way to battle on the glass,” Hoiberg said. “That was the one thing we talked about going into the season was for us to have a chance to win was to compete on the glass. We gave up 17 offensive rebounds and that is too many.” The Huskers also overcame a slow start, as WSU built a double-figure lead in the first seven minutes, only to see the Huskers climb back into the contest with seven straight points capped by a Kavas 3-pointer. “I thought we battled back after we got down double-digits early and cut into the lead,” Hoiberg said. “When we got out and played with pace, we had really good things happen.” NU trailed 45-35 at half, but were unable to draw closer in the final 20 minutes, as the Shockers size stook over. WSU had 12 of its 17 offensive boards in the final 20 minutes. “There are a lot of things we will look at and get back to work on Monday to get better in those areas,” Hoiberg said.

  16. Ladies and gentlemen, ladies and gentlemen, thank you so much for visiting with us this evening. Now I've traveled across half our state to be here and to see about this land. Now I daresay some of you might have heard some of the more extravagant rumors about what my plans are, so I just thought you'd like to hear it from me. This is the face -- it's no great mystery. I'm a pace man, ladies and gentlemen. I have coached many games high in pace. I have statistic showing the speed at which my teams play. I like to think of myself as a pace man. And as a pace man I hope that you'll forgive just good old-fashioned plain speaking. Now this work that we do is very much a family enterprise. My grandfather coached here before me. I think one or two of you might have met him already. Now something else, and please don't be insulted if I speak about this: points. Let's talk about points. Now to my mind, it's an abomination to consider that any man, woman, or child in this magnificent country of ours should have to look upon scoring points as a luxury. We're going to play with pace here. Pace means space; space means shots. We're going to raise the number of shots here where before it just simply was impossible. You're going to have more shots than you know what to do with. Points will be coming right out of your ears, ma'am. Points, shots, pace, these are just a few of the things we can offer you, and I assure you ladies and gentlemen, that if we do have pace here, and I think there's a very good chance that we will, this team of yours will not only survive, it will flourish. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you might have. Yes? Will we play defense? Well, I'm going to leave that to Doc. Thank you. Anyone else? Well, if anything comes up, I'm pretty easy to find and you just come and visit with me. Thank you so much for your time. Good night.

  17. People are going to be might disappointed if they actually think that I posted credentials that would contain my person information on the internet but I guess that will just set the tone for having to fork over this amount of money to watch 3 games.
