  1. My five-point plan for 2019-2020: Let 'er fly. Don't project starting lineups, minutes, scores, wins, losses, seeds, percentages. Expect nothing. Celebrate everything. Beat Iowa.

  2. BREAKING: Creighton University President Daniel Hendrickson announced Wednesday a plan to move CU's official mailing address — and its basketball program — to La Habra, California. The move comes in the wake of California Gov. Gavin Newsom signing into law a bill that would allow student-athletes at California colleges and universities to receive compensation. Currently, NCAA rules forbid student-athletes to receive "extra benefits" beyond the cost of attendance, which includes scholarships and other related expenses to attending a university. Hendrickson said California's new law fits perfectly with CU's current basketball recruiting philosophy. "We've really looked for ways for Coach (Greg) McDermott to be more directly involved in the payment process," Hendrickson said Wednesday in a press conference at the La Habra Holiday Inn. "This will remove all the secrecy and second-parties from our ability to land the best players available." Hendrickson also noted that the university will undertake a fund-raising campaign in order to meet the demands of the nation's top players, and to compete against California programs such as UCLA, USC, Stanford, Cal-Berkeley and St. Mary's. "We've always capped our offers at $100,000," Hendrickson said. "We really want to be competitive in this market, though, so we hope our alumni can step up. Every little bit helps. Instead of buying another BMW for their own children, maybe a few donors could do the same for our prospective basketball players." CU students will continue to take classes at Creighton's "satellite campus" in Omaha, but all expressed no worries about attending 'Jays home games in California. "Daddy's jet fits 25 people, so that's pretty much my entire fraternity," said Leighton "Biff" Stonehenge, a junior wealth management major from Glencoe, Illinois. The move will create a dilemma, however, for the local "We Hate Nebraska Basketball Club," whose members proudly identify as "Jayskers." "We'll still root for Frosty and the boys on autumn Saturdays," said Hugh Jass, the group's president. "As for the winters, well, I guess you can now call me a 'Mavsker.' "

  5. Listen I love the big 10 and I am not under selling it. But if u Google womens college basketball Rpi generally I think big 12 is higher (4 out of last 5 years. —Big 10 was higher in 17-18 season when we went to ncaa tourney) — Baylor won a national campionship last year and u play everybody twice. Sure Baylor didn’t help anybody else’s record. — If u follow neb women’s bball on Twitter there is a lot of promotion and fun stuff. But I think it is against the rules for staff to comment on recruits. That has to come from reporters —— we have a great staff. Our 2018 class was a top 20 class and our freshman had good freshman seasons. By all accounts our current freshman r good and incude a potential difference maker from Australia who gives us a big who can play on the perimeter and make good decisions with the basketball. https://mobile.twitter.com/huskerswbb

    This happened at Kansas

Gotta say, he's not wrong here: It's not nessecarily the message that KU sends that's the issue here...it's the context that's the problem.

  9. Yes, of course. But....do we do enough to make a recruit believe NU is right ...for a recruit to stay in state?....as in this case. And...I kind of think there is validity in searching the "500 mile" area for recruiting prospects. (like Frost has said) What is really an eye opener is Iowa State. We recently were both going for a Nebraska girl as a recruit. Iowa Sate got her commitment. That made me look at Iowa St's other recruits .... ...was amazed to see they have 4 top 100 recruits coming in and they're all in the 500 mile recruiting area distance. What are they doing to make that happen? .

  12. We have the guard depth to go to a 4-guard lineup if we need to (which we probably will need to do.) We do not have the guard depth to go 5-guards. Not a full game, anyway. Mack, Burke, Green, Cheatham, Kavas, Curtis, Stevenson, Thorbjarnarson, Easley. Seems like Stevenson is really more of a 4 (as Miles used to say, "you are what you guard" and he's going to draw the defensive assignment to guard the other team's larger players.) But even so, we go two-deep with a 4-guard lineup. It's a shame we didn't get one of those grad transfer bigs we were looking at. They'd have had plenty of work.

  13. The question I have about Mack is whether or not he might be the best answer to the question posed overseas: 'what do we do when things aren't going our way' aka 'how do we stop a run' Just to state the obivous Legit Strength: Depth at guard Legit Weakness: Lack of depth at F/C Assume we'll be an above average shooting team and below average rebounding team. Our success then might hinge on the turnover battle.

  14. Sometimes you get a guy who comes in that you were expecting a lot out of and they aren't as good as you hoped. Other times, some under-the-radar kid comes in and blows your mind. And sometimes a guy you thought was going to be really good turns out to be everything he was billed to be. Let's say Cam Mack comes in and he's as good as you hoped he'd be -- makes good decisions with the ball, finds his teammates for quality shots, can blow by guys that let their guard down and take it to the rack. Let's just say he ends up being the special kind of player Hoiberg says he has the chance to be. What's our ceiling then? How much does that one guy move the needle for us? Do we have enough other pieces surrounding him that, if he's as good as advertised, they'll be able to have a synergetic impact in games? If he's that guy, how good can we be?

    2019-20 Husker opponents

They get two scrimmages/exhibitions and teams can use any combination they would like: - Two closed scrimmages - Two exhibitions - One of each Iowa State must have chose to go with two scrimmages.
