  1. My rose colored glasses have dimmed over the past several years. I want to be optimistic, but instead, I find myself in the wait and see category. - I am hopeful we can be a good defensive team as we "appear" to be athletic, but can they learn to play together. We also seem to like an eraser type that could have helped cover mistakes. - We seem to be deep, yet is that depth made up of high level Division I talent? Not sure yet, but I am somewhat optimistic that we may have much better depth than last year. - The coaching staff seems to be high level, but is that me being hopeful? Are we now on par, or even better than most high profile programs? - Can we overcome our lack of size? - Will we be a hot and cold offensive team. Can we consistently score and win? Especially on the road? So, shoot the boot. I want to be optimistic; I would even take being cautiously optimistic; but I need to see the product on the floor. I need to see us winning loose ball battles. I need to see us winning battles for rebounds. I need to see teammates supporting teammates. I need to wait and see.

  2. I’m sure after the scrimmage on 9/27 I’ll have em in the top 4 of the B1G. But at least I won’t be lobbying for Brady Heiman to start after the 1st two non-con games...

  3. The "seat yourself" process for season-ticket holders to change or add seats is going on today. Before the process started this morning there was one group of six seats in row 8 available and several pairs in the upper rows of the lower level. I just looked and those are all gone by 11:00 am. Nothing left in the lower level except a few singles. Just a few scattered pairs in the 200 level left. Not my time yet and not much to pick from - but kind of fun to look. I did not expect much to be available this year with the added excitement from the coaching change and that certainly is the case.

  4. Sorry. @hskr4life dared me. It's his fault.

  5. I mean I basically convince myself every year that this is the year we make the tourney and get our first win. So I can’t imagine this year will be any different. Now where that means we end up in the final standings of the BIg Ten I am not sure. I'll say 6th with the Big Ten being a 6 bid conference and this is the year we get our 1st tourney win. See how easy it is for me to get there

  6. Well, I'd love for the prospects of that deep run asap. Let's hope for greatness, sooner than later.

  7. Regarding the loss of buzzer beaters, a switch to four quarters would allow for 3 buzzer beaters, just not one at the end. I'm for anything that reduces replays.

  8. tv loves the current set up. using all the time outs and game stoppages means more ads. I read Zirin do an article on that several years ago and he calculated that the ad time during college basketball games went up about 25-30 percent, which over time is millions of dollars for large regional or national productions. game stoppages are an advertisers best friend, which is why so many sports have so many more of them these days.

  10. Phenomenal young man. Used to be able to jump out of the gym. Had a great career at Benedictine College in KS (I believe).

  11. John Harris Jr. helped out with the Nebraska Basketball Camp in mid-June when my son participated. I talked with him. He seemed like a good dude to have around.
